Negative stars. Most unprofessional and disrespectful ranger I have ever encountered. When I tried to speak with the clubhouse/ management, they were too busy trying to squeeze every dime out of the place to care or hear me out. You are making a huge mistake if you play here. Ranger at one point told a member of my group he was not good enough to play the course. He shot a 100, but we were more than a entire hole ahead of the group behind us so we weren't holding anyone up. The ranger went on to make racist remarks to members of our group, follow us for two holes, get in the way while we were trying to play those two holes, and entirely spoil what should have been a pleasant morning in the course. read more

My wife and I played this course yesterday and we really enjoyed ourselves. Caveat, we're only casual golfers and just getting back into it after having a kid. Read: hacks. But the course was beautiful and the gentleman behind the counter was very nice and welcoming. read more

A well maintained course with some challenging holes. Played in the beginning of September and paid $60 for 18 and a cart. Five beers discounted at $14 bucks which saves you a whopping dollar overall. No mix-and-matching either. They do not have a range to get a few swings in before teeing off which was a bummer. A nice putting/chipping green before the first tee. I liked that the longest par 5 was the first hole. Good way to start off the day with a par which rarely seems to happen. I didn't notice any poor maintained areas on the course. The only blunders were some of the sand traps that had large drainage pipes running through them. A few port-a-johns along the way was nice to avoid running into the woods. No rangers cruising around keeping tabs on us either. This DuPage county course is certainly a step up from Oak Meadows. I would definitely save your money and head here since they are just a few miles apart. Overall the course is worth the price. I would definitely head back since it's only about a 30 minute drive from the city...that's with no traffic of course. read more

$54 in October so not too expensive. Kind of odd layout of holes but fun course. Unfortunately, extremely slow play and nobody seems to replace divots or repair ball marks. Ranger didn't care that a group was hanging off their cart and walking through bunkers and screaming. They hacked up the tee boxes too. Would not play here unless you're first group in the morning. read more

I am rounding up to 4 stars but it's really 3.5stars. Played on a thurs for $36 to ride which is more than reasonable. Let me preface this with the fact that I am a high handicap. The course presented some fun holes and a good variety of challenges - water, sand, tall grass and some trees. I would prefer more trees vs having a ton of tall grass which makes finding errant tee shots difficult. The greens could have been better maintained but I guess I can't argue for $36. Overall a good value and a decent course. read more

Cheaper golf, YES! *high five* I can't say much for the course this time of year because the grass is still filling in and the grounds keepers are hard at work on every hole - but cheap golf is cheap golf! I'd star this higher except for the fact that there was NO BEER GIRL and that's just unacceptable in my book. Almost gave it a 3 star, but since the course is relatively close to Chicago and not super expensive I stuck with the 4. The problem I have with this course is the tees and greens. They do a terrible job of keeping them unharmed. You need to have divot repair at every tee box, have the cart attendants sweep the course every day and fill the ones on the tee boxes goflers were too lazy to do themselves. Easy fix. Otherwise the course was fun, not all that difficult but interesting nonetheless. I'll definitely be back here at some point in the summer when it's not 50 degrees in June. WTF. read more

The east nine can be tough without decent drives.. I think I finally have it down. lol. Very reasonable rates for any course, but a great deal for a course this nice! Very well maintained, never too busy, absolutely beautiful scenery. One of my go to courses for a quick 9 hole. I highly suggest you don't try to play any extra holes as my friends and I often do... You will be reminded you didn't pay for twilight and the rangers will ask that you leave. Again, lol. That is fine. There are rules that must be followed. Proper etiquette and what not. All around, very nice for a public course. Just as a warning, the west 18 will get crowded on any warm sunny day. Same as any course I suppose. read more

If i could give this course negative stars I would. I walked on this past Friday afternoon with 2 buddies and we played the 9 hole course not the full 18. We paid at the pro shop and tee'd off with no starter in sight. BTW, this was our 1st time playing here. The course itself was not bad. Lots of sand, water hazards, and long par 4's which made for a mostly fun, challenging round. The fairways were maintained ok, but not great either. All in all not a bad outing until the 9th hole. It was still sunny outside and at about 7:55PM and we were finishing up our putts on the 9th hole when a ranger pulls up in his cart and starts yelling at us to get off the green. He was yapping about having the carts in by 8PM. There are a few things wrong with this picture: #1 This ranger passed us about 3 times while we played never warning us about the time we needed to get carts in or about pace of our play. #2 The proshop failed to mention the 8PM time for the carts to us when we paid and checked in. You'd think they would since we were the last group they let out. #3 An employee NEVER has the right to yell at a paying customer especially when its unprovoked. #4 I am a grown man and my father does not even speak to me like that! Needless to say after we were verbally assaulted. We explained that no one told us and that he didnt need to speak to us like that. The guy was relentless! My buddy had some choice words for the elderly gentleman. To add fuel to the fire the ranger was talking even more trash when we handed in the carts. I thought my buddy was going to flip his lid. Ultimately we called to complain to management the next morning and they did absolutely NOTHING for us despite the guy completely ruining our round and treating paying customers like garbage. All they did was apologize and say they've never had any issues with this ranger in the past. All 3 of us were livid! Not only will i never return to play there, I will go out of my way to tell others about how this place mistreats customers. They may have been able to redeem themselves by refunding our money or giving us a discounted round, but absolutely nothing. I would rather play anywhere else but Maple Meadows! read more

Played here yesterday with some friends. This is a Forest Preserve gold course. It is well maintained. This is a challenging enough course to give good golfers an interesting round. If you hit a errant shot, even in the close rough, it was tough to find your ball. The greens were by no means easy but not the hardest either. The course was a bit dry yesterday so for us worm burners it helped our distance. On the other hand it made putting very challenging. They do have a beer cart which came frequently and provided very good service. The price for 18 on a weekend with a cart is $62. We had some discount certificates which bought it down to $39. A real deal as even paying the full price for this course is worth it due to its challenge and quality of the entire place. It had a very nice club house and pro-shop and a small bar and restaurant which were decent as well. I would come back. read more

Decent golf course. Tees, fairways, bunkers and greens are very well maintained. Front 9 layout is a little awkward but not a big deal. Some excellent 400+ yard par 4s. Interesting blend of holes...trees, water, and bunkers all come into play. The course lacks privacy, however...surrounded by busy roads and close to ORD, it feels pretty urban out there. Also, there is a large high rise condo/apartment building that the course wraps around that is quite unsightly. Good bang for the buck at 55 bucks riding on a Sunday morning. read more

I don't golf a whole lot, but I really enjoyed this course. It was not the most spectacular course, but it was challenging and well kept. Beware there is high grass everywhere that will gobble up your ball. We had a coupon for half off, I don't know if I'd pay $52 for a round of golf here. read more

If you're looking to play some golf and have fun with your friends or family, DO NOT play here. I came here with 3 friends and brought 3 beers (1 per person) and was scolded for bringing them. We threw them out once we realized we weren't allowed to BYOB but were stopped on 2 more occassions and asked to see our cooler. They made us feel like drug smugglers. On top of that we were followed and harassed by the "ranger" on the back 9. They told us we were 30 minutes behind after the turn, even though we could see the group on the green at 10. That group eventually walked off at 15 and the ranger, who was still following us, told us we need to get it moving because we're holding up the entire course. Ridiculous. We'll never play here again and I wouldn't suggest you do either. read more

Very nice golf course, in really good shape. The course was challenging, but not overpowering. I shot my normal score (85-90), and for never playing there before I was happy with that. I did get paired with a couple of locals who play all the time, so I am sure that helped. read more

Played the 9 hole today and what beautiful weather! The course is nice and well layed out except for hole #5. What a pain losing a ball in all those leaves and only a couple of feet of of the fairway! Guess that is part of the game when you have four seasons.... read more

Good course, challenging enough, aesthetics could be better. My number one complaint is that they don't take tee times for singles. They tell singles "just come out and we'll get you on no problem" then you get there and you get looked at and talked to like you have screwed up their whole system and causing them this huge headache. read more
