Bob was really great! Amazing customer service and food was good. My main critique is that the burgers could have had more sauce.

5 stars for Topgolf in Schaumburg! This was my first time here, or at any Topgolf location for that matter. I had a great time here, you don't need to be Tiger Woods to have fun at Topgolf - all skill level players are welcome. You can pick multiple golfing games on screens in your section - you can do ones that only count if you hit the holes, ones that count your distance, ones that incorporate fun app games like Angry Birds and Sonic and more. Our server was very friendly/attentive at our section while golfing, she checked up on us a lot if we needed help or if we wanted to order anything. I didn't bother ordering food or drinks as it's all extremely expensive (eat/drink before you go). If you like mini golf, but regular golf isn't your thing, I think Topgolf is somewhere in the middle where you can have a great time at. Definitely check it out at least once, the earlier you go in the day, the less crowded it will be - especially early mornings.

The pre-check in process was smooth. The bay was clean and well stocked with all the golf clubs. Our server, Mike B, even checked if we needed left handed clubs. He was attentive to our table for our beverage orders without hovering, which was appreciated. We did not order any food items this visit, but have enjoyed the food we have eaten previously. It was a fun evening to spend with the family, no matter the golfing level.

We went here as a large event put on by they did not know about my allergies before we got there and when I asked the manager ran down to the kitchen multiple times to ask if there were things I could eat on the buffet that was given to us and when they could not find something that was not going to react they provided me with a meal off the menu for free. The food was absolutely wonderful and one of the best hamburgers I think I've ever had. The atmosphere is nice and there's coach Bob who will come around and help anyone at everyone learn how to play golf. I was shocked that I actually did well after the first few and it was quick to pick up. I really love the Angry Birds game which made it much more fun rather than just hitting the ball to hit it. The wait staff were absolutely wonderful at their jobs and always made sure that we had what we needed.

We checked in before 7:30 and were initially placed on the first floor. We immediately asked if it was possible to move to a higher floor, and were directed to a manager--who denied the request without even checking availability. That already set the tone for the experience. Things didn't improve from there. Our waiter brought a drink to the wrong person in our party and didn't card them. We had to step in and clarify that they were not the same person. It was honestly a bit uncomfortable and came across as careless and unprofessional. On top of that, we specifically asked to split the bill between drinks and the game for each person--something that's advertised as easy to do for groups. Instead, it was handled poorly. Everyone ended up being charged separately for their drinks and then again for the game portion, making it confusing and frustrating to sort out. This is only my second time at this location, and unfortunately it feels like they dropped the ball again without making any effort to fix it. Definitely disappointing.

Took a small group here yesterday and had an absolute blast the food was amazing and our server was completely on point friendly attentive and made the whole experience even better This is one of my go to spots to unwind and blow off some steam and it never disappoints I have even hosted birthday parties here and they always go above and beyond to make everything feel top notch Already looking forward to coming back soon honestly stop reading this and just go

I bought the Top Golf Summer Pass this year and I am so excited to be a regular here this Summer! Top Golf is a fun and exciting activity to do with my friends and family. I can chat, work on my swing, and enjoy food and beverages from their many menu options. The hosts are always friendly and attentive to our needs, checking in on us regularly. I can't wait for a fun filled summer at Top Golf!

We love it here. My son (who is 3) begs to come here because he has so much fun playing golf. We (the adults) love sitting back and enjoying the snacks. It's a win for everyone. We both have the membership and it has been an amazing value, allowing us to visit and snack monthly. Definitely check this one out!

I had so much fun here! The different games are great, angry birds was so fun. Our servers Efron and Evan were top notch. They were on top of it, funny and kind. Can't wait to come back!

I had a lot of fun hitting golf balls and their food. Went here for a birthday party with a big group and we had a tasty charcuterie party platter, guac and cheese dip with chips and salsa. The buffalo chicken dip would have to be my favorite, it comes in a cast iron so it stays warm for a while. So good. They have plenty of floors and games to play other than golf so it makes it an inclusive entertainment place for everyone. They also have an outdoor roof with fireplaces to stay warm in the evenings. Service was great, we had one of the waiters grab our drinks.

    Alana S.

The service was great, a waiter/waitress came by every so often to see if we wanted anything. There is no call button or anything, so you do have to rely on them walking by or coming up to the table. The food was mid, nothing to really write home about. The donuts were the best thing of the night with the warm raspberry jam. The worst thing was the buffalo chicken potato skins. It just had an off putting texture, we just weren't fans. The games were fun! I for sure cannot golf, so it's nice that some of the games are friendly for even the beginner golfer. We'd probably come back, maybe with a bigger crowd, it seems more fun. Great alternative to bowling!

Service was super infrequent, food slow to come out. JAX location 10x better. The golf system was flawless and had lots of games vs JAX. Thanks to the team for getting Cubs game on one of screens. ....the location was very clean and nice/current. Plenty of parking. Added new forgiving driver to each bay for amatures, but they ditched the hybrids. Food was good.

Fun fun fun where you have a free bean toss game as well as Top Golf games that are very high tech. There are many many cameras that track each golf ball you hit. It's a great place and you can order food and drinks. I did not like the nachos or food much. Tater tots were good though. The nacho avocado sauce was more a mayo and not real avocado, and the toppings for the nachos were not good or fresh. You are coming here for the experience and not the food so I would recommend you eat somewhere else before or after. Staff are lots of fun and nice. They provide golf clubs and you can bring your own.

How are the heaters working this time of year?

We were there last week during the recent snow storm and it felt comfortable under the heaters while it was about 25-30° outside.

It's going to be 25 degrees tonight. Do the heaters really work that well when it's that cold?

Yes, they do. We had an event here end of last year and it was cold outside. I was amazed we were warm the entire time in our bay.

How much time should we plan for a round (5 people)? The bays rent per hour, so is one hour enough?

This really depends on your group and what you decide to play. Like bowling, it's all at your own pace, and some of your group might be super competitive and know what they're doing, while others might need to be dragged off their seat.…

Do you need to wear golf shoes?

Nope. While you might want to wear something practical, you do not need special shoes.

How long is the walk in wait on the weekend in the winter?

Anywhere from 30-90 minutes...The earlier the better.

    Are there heated bays?

Oh yes! Still wear a winter coat and gloves, but yes, they have those patio heaters

Do you need to reserve a bay if you come midday? Can the walk in wait get bad?

In the summers, reservations are highly recommended just because you really never know what the walk in business will look like. The walk in wait can get up to 4 hours.

If you're a beer drinker, they have a massive selection on tap (about 90 taps--and no, that's not a typo!). They also have a large patio that looks like a great spot when the weather is nice. Inside, there's a good mix of low-tops, high-tops, banquettes, and booths. All the tabletops feature copper tops with wood trim, and exposure to water and food over time has given each table a unique patina. We arrived right as they were switching over from the brunch menu to dinner, and the staff made us feel very welcome. What We Ordered: Smoked Brisket Reuben Eggrolls: We ordered these special eggrolls for the table. My friend has a shellfish allergy, and since many traditional eggrolls contain shrimp, he was excited to try these. He said they were the best eggrolls he's ever had (though he admitted he doesn't eat them often!). He paired it with a Guinness Zero non-alcoholic draught and was amazed by how close it tasted to the original. Fish Tacos ($19): Recommended by another reviewer, these come with three cornmeal-battered, fried Mahi-Mahi tacos topped with cilantro lime cream and fresh micro cilantro. They were crispy and very tasty. If you're usually sensitive to cilantro, you might still enjoy these--I mostly tasted a bright, lemony freshness rather than heavy cilantro. Sides (Broccoli Rabe & Asparagus): I substituted chips for a vegetable side. Due to a mix-up in the kitchen, I got to try the broccoli rabe first, though it turned out way too spicy for anyone at our table. My actual order was asparagus--my absolute favorite--but it was a bit disappointing, as the bottom half of each stalk was woody and fibrous. Fish & Chips ($21.50): My friend went with this traditional entry. At that price point, he was expecting three fillets, but he couldn't finish the two that were served and took some home. Overall, a solid entrée. Classic Breakfast ($15.50): My husband got this from the brunch menu. He was very pleased with the scrambled eggs, potatoes, thick-sliced bacon, and sausage links. Overall, a solid visit with great variety on the menu!

There were seven of us and we all converged from Buffalo Grove and Vernon Hills. Jimmy D's doesn't come up on your normal burger place lists in and around the area, but we saw a post somewhere and knew we had to check this place out, especially if it ended up being across from the future home of the Chicago Bears. We'd probably end up hanging out there and wanted to make sure it was a good enough place to hang and be a part of the action, whilst not paying for said action. Anyhoo, we all pulled up to find a nice parking lot next to/behind the restaurant. It's a cool place with a couple entrances (one in the lot and the other from the street). It's a nicely adorned building and has the requisite sports decor on the inside with plenty of televisions to watch many games at once. There was plenty of seating for our group as it was quite empty on a Monday night and there wasn't any game of note when we were there. We called ahead letting them know our numbers and they accommodated us with a reserved table. They were attentive and constantly refilled out waters and sodas and brought more beer when needed/requested. The service was friendly and attentive. We were there for the burgers of which there are four options: the House burger, the Fried Egg Burger, the Mac Daddy, and a Black Bean burger. However, stipulations for being in our club is that you can only order a red meat-based burger. We did order the buffalo sauced wings as an appetizer to share. They were sauced nicely, not too hot, and quite good. I would definitely recommend getting them if you visit. I also ordered the cream of chicken soup. It was a perfect option for the cold night and I rank it among one of the better cream of chicken soup options in the suburbs. While not a sommelier of cream of chicken soup, I do rank it quite well: I think it matches Jameson's Char House for quality, thickness, and flavor. Mama clearly knows what she's doing with her soup. I opted for the Mac Daddy burger. It's prepared with: black angus beef, boom boom sauce, house mac n' cheese, bacon, fried onions, sliced jalapeños, toasted brioche. I normally don't opt for the special/signature house sauces as I've been burned before by these so-called "recommended" house sauces (I'm looking at you, Lucky Burger, with your terrible "dijonnaise" sauce - ugh, don't get me started on THAT sauce). However, I was told it's a hot sauce for the burger and figured it wouldn't overpower everything else on the burger. The mac n' cheese was a tad creamy, but so what, the bacon, fried onions, jalapenos, and boom boom sauce cut into the creaminess a bit and it worked. And it didn't overpower the flavor of the burger, which I thought it would, but somehow didn't. I really liked this burger, the bun held up, the bacon stayed crispy, and jalapenos and sauce added a nice kick but not overwhelmingly so. I would get this again. The sandwiches come with housemade fries or tots, but I know that if tots are offered, you can (generally) never go wrong with tots (I'd point out Puck's Pub but they closed and did the world a favor in doing so). Everyone generally liked their burgers and would return again. In our 5 point scale, Jimmy D's District got a 4.25. They have a nice brunch menu and drinks to match and I want to try them out someday. Let me know if you're going and I'll meet ya there if available.

The Greek Fries were my other favorite! It has a roasted garlic aioli, crumbled feta and oregano. I could eat an entire plate of it with no problem! On Fridays and Saturdays in the evening, there is live music but outside of the live music, the environment is lively, the service from everyone was pleasant and attentive, and there are TVs everywhere, like literally! I can totally see why this place is a neighborhood favorite and if you visit, you'll understand why too! Stop by and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you!

It's been a few years since we went to the Donkey Inn. We stopped going for a while since their…read morefood was inconsistent. However, this time, everything was great. Their menu is huge - lots of different options. But I can only speak to what I had. My fellow diners were pleased with their meals - a Reuben made with turkey and a burger in a lettuce wrap. Both had sweet potato fries. Both said their meals were good. I decided to try their skirt steak. It comes with mashed potatoes and steamed vegetables but I substituted tater tots for the potatoes. The skirt steak come smothered in grilled onions and mushrooms. I have to admit, it was pretty good. It was not the quality of steak you would expect in a steakhouse like Morton's. But for the price, I thought it was quite good. The vegetables are steamed and not spiced at all. A little salt and pepper made the difference. Lastly, the tots were crisp and very tasty. The service was good. And, the booth was clean and it wasn't particularly loud, so we were able to talk. We won't wait as long to go back to the Donkey Inn again,

SAD!! Chicken tasted like a frozen thin piece of chicken that was deep fried, put on a giant French roll, with little to no sauce(you couldn't even see it)and a piece of cheese... don't order.... They have too much on their menu they can't handle.... Need to revamp menu and cheap use of food products while trying to cut corners... $50 for 2 entrees....fries were actually decent....sweet potatoe fries were very soggy... maybe microwaved or reheated?? Will pass next time..... service was great though....Hope they can improve in the kitchen..
