This place is WONDERFUL!! I forgot the guy's name, but I was thinking my tensioner was bad, but it wasn't. It was a handful of reasons of why my machine was skipping stitches and he demonstrated some troubleshooting tactics and was super patient and helpful! Maquinsal was wonderful! They fixed my machine so it hums along smoothly again. Additionally, they were nice, friendly, reasonable, and professional. I would definitely recommend going there for repair or purchase. They are well trained, know what they're doing, and have a big shop with thousands of in-stock parts. (My home ELNA sewing machine was acting up a few months back - nothing serious, it was just being persnickety. I had taken it to a sewing machine and vac storefront business on El Camino near my house. Without even looking at, THE GUY there charged me $300 up front without even testing the machine. (Who does that?) I told him I was in the middle of a project and needed it back quickly so he said, "Oh sure, it will just be a day or two." Hearing nothing after a week, I called and he said he had been too busy to work on it more than an hour. So, I drove over to the shop where he said he hadn't had a chance to look at it yet. Hmm. I told him I would just take my machine back then, thank you. He said ok, but he needed to just wipe off the fingerprints. After about 20 minutes and tired of waiting, I finally called into the back of his shop, "Just let me have it, I'll wipe off your fingerprints." So he brought it around the corner, gave it to me and I got out of there. Once home I could tell he had done NOTHING to the machine except keep my $300 credit card charge. Last time I looked, wiping off a sewing machine doesn't constitute a $300 "repair". Creepy. Don't go there.) I wish I had known about the wonderful MAQUINSAL SEWING MACHINE biz before then. On Main in Santa Ana, they are terrific. Though they specialize in commercial sewing machines, they weren't too busy to give me great service for my home machine and at 1/3 of the cost of the other weird-vibe place. read more

I'm so glad I found this place! I drove around to three other places looking for someone to repair my sewing machine before finding Maquinsal Sewing Machines. Maquinsal sells industrial sewing machines and rents them too BUT they also repair them as well! I bought a used sewing machine at a local thrift store. Some places weren't sure if it was worth fixing and another place wanted me to trade it in for a new machine. One other place was going to charge me $150 just to go in and see what the problem was. Hector, the owner, charged me way less, fixed it up in a day. He loves sewing machines and you can definitely see his passion. His colleagues even developed a sewing machine for folks who are wheelchair bound! He happily shares his time and craft. If you are in the market for an industrial machine, need your machine fixed or even if you want to rent a machine... please make a stop at Maquinsal. I just wanted to say that these guys are amazing. They are so honest and great at what they do. There have been times when I have called them with problems of my sewing machines and they walk me through it and I don't even have to bring in my machine. I have had my machine serviced at Maquinsal. The price of service was very fair and reasonable. Months after my service, my machine stopped working. I brought my Mitsubishi DY-340 Industrial Sewing Machine in for a full service or tune up you might say, and it now works flawlessly! Gone are the tension problems, and other things that were giving me problems. Hector replaced a few parts which he had IN STOCK! Additionally, Hector thought me a couple of things about my machine I didn't know, such as how to make special adjustments to accommodate thicker materials, or when going over thick seams. This is the place I have been looking for and now have found! They have many sewing machines in stock for sale too. I may upgrade at some point due to looking over some of the super nice machines they have in inventory at a good price. You will not be disappointed! read more
