I went in to have my a tire mounted and balanced. The gentlemen was polite and professional but the service was super slow. After sitting for nearly 1 hour, I was ask if I wanted to replace my tire sensor so that threw me. Then about 20 mins later I was told my the balancing is bumpy. After that now I've been there about 1 hour and 30 mins. I ask them to please mount my tire because I had to leave. 5 mins later they pull around with my care. I drove about 7 miles and something told me to check my tire and all of the lugs weren't all the way tighten. This could have been very dangerous. I've never in my life had a tire mounted and all of the lugs where tight or the tire wasnt properly mounted. This was horrible. I went back and watched them tight all the lugs. I will never do business with this place. I do not recommend for any type of service. Be careful... read more

Scam: people be aware. Went in for a tire issue in early January. Tire issue fixed but was called stating my battery died and they had to jump it. I was told my battery was low and they gave 2 options for $207 and $279 for a battery replacement. Said no thanks. Still received a $40 charge for a battery test that I didn't order. Now it's March and I have yet to have any issue with my battery or need a jump because of it dying. Definitely a scam. Would never recommend this place for anyone. Go elsewhere. read more

I called to make an appointment for my car. I was put on hold for 7 minutes and 45 seconds. Yes, put on hold for over 7 minutes to make an appointment! When a representative finally answered the phone I was told it would be over a week before my car could be seen. Well, they are just to busy for me, I'll go somewhere else. read more

Terrible customer service. I have my truck in there to get an alignment and inspection. it's been a little over a week and nobody called me with updates on the truck. I'm still waiting for my 4 new tires after 3 plus hours. I might be saving $50 but the long drive and the wait is not worth it. No wifi, no tv and no radio make the waiting room unbearable. Sitting in the heat over looking the parking lot much better. read more

I had a tire blow out while on a long trip from South Carolina to New York. I broke down 5 miles from Mar-Bar Tire Services. I was able to explain my problem on the phone and immediately have the necessary tires and parts ordered from their distributor. Additionally, I did not have the lug key for said tires which was no problem for them at all. I received my car back when they said it would be done. Their prices are less expensive than commercial business and I feel, the customer service and actual maintenance was much better. Additionally, their knowledge was top notch. Lastly, their facility is quite impressive for being "in the middle of nowhere". Special thanks to Roy and his staff for a job well done. read more

I took my van here for state inspection and was pleased with all aspects of my experience. The staff were polite and helpful, and communicated well about my slightly complicated circumstances. The inspection was done for a fair price, which in Pennsylvania is not to be taken for granted. The waiting area is comfortable and spacious. There is reading material, ample seating, and clean bathrooms, plus artisanal snacks for sale. ( I think there was free coffee but I don't remember for certain). True, there's no TV, but that's a plus in my mind. The waiting area didn't smell like engine grease and I didn't feel looked down on or taken advantage of as a woman. That alone is enough in the automotive services area to make me a return customer. I had an appointment but my van wasn't seen right away. It was a weekday, late morning, and it was fairly busy. After about a half hour I saw my van taken from the parking lot. Once the technicians had it they finished in less than 15 minutes. Mar-Bar is the best PA car inspection experience I've ever had. read more

I called to ask if there was service available for two new tires that could be put on today. After confirmation that the two tires were available at the shop the service man on the phone said to come on in. I was quoted a price over the phone of $165.13. I arrived and Roy was helping me at the counter. He informed me there that the tires were not white walls, which wouldn't match the tires that are on the car. He offered to flip the white walls so all of the tires would match. I wasn't against the idea after driving a half hour, out in the middle of nowhere, and I really needed it done today. We go back inside and he quotes me a different price! Now over $180.00. Roy wants to charge me for for flipping the white walls around so the black side is out.... wait a minute Roy! He also muttered that we didn't have an appointment and that it would be a an hour and a half wait. I told him that the service man on the phone told me to come on in and that they should alert customers that they need an appointment. Also, that he should not charge me extra when they do not have the item in stock that they said they did. Roy then tells me that they don't take appointments. What is going on here! Not happy just had four new tires put on in November . I asked If she could come in at 10 .am they said that was fine. Then she gets there and it takes 3 hours to put the tires on . They tell her they don't take appointments .They told me 10 am was fine.They don't make this clear. Last night we had a flat . so we called them they said they could patch it for $20, That seamed fair. I don't buy into the protection plans . It takes them 2 more hours to tell us the tire has to be replaced for $91. fine . Then they start about the protection plan again for $48. We've had three flats in 25 years these plan don't make much sense for most people. While we are waiting they start taking an appointment for somebody . I thought you don't take appointments? I guess it depends who you are. read more

On January 12, 2016, I got 4 new Continental Purecontact tires on my Honda Civic at Mar-Bar Tire Service, Hanover, PA. All service was prompt, efficient, and cost-effective. Tire mounting and balancing took 1 hour; a free alignment check took 30 minutes including a clear, well-explained report on alignment results and corrective action options; the 4-wheel alignment took another 30 minutes. Prices were the best in the area, based on four different quotes from like businesses. Product and service knowledge (e.g., tire types, brands, characteristics, use, and vehicle suspension system issues and fixes) was impressive. Staff were straight-talking and accommodating (no gimmicks or pressure). The facility was spacious and well-equipped, with a huge, clean waiting area having complimentary beverages and inexpensive homemade and vending machine snacks. Mar-Bar is customer-oriented place. My new tires and vehicle handling are great. I plan to take my other car to Mar-Bar as soon as new tires are needed. I am very pleased and will be a repeat customer. read more
