Not sure if this is under new management or they got new cooks or what but I usually get the shrimp enchiladas green sauce so today I wanted a light dish. Shrimp cóctel. We were the only ones there and hubby ordered a fish dish which should not take long. Two more couples came approx 8-10 mins later. Well they started getting their shrimp cocteles before our dishes and I was Not happy and I let them know. I let her know we should have received our meals first and instead of apologizing for taking way too long for whatever reason, they said that the two shrimp cocteles they got was faster than a fish filet dish. I guess she thought I was stupid and not know how fast fish cooks. I didn't recognize any of the ladies so I'm assuming they are all new staff. Well both the shrimp coctel and my hubby's fish dish was so bland no amount of salt, lemon, or hot sauce made it any better. I WILL NOT BE COMING HERE ANYMORE. read more

Mar y Tierra is a nice-sized restaurant in Covina. The service is good, the waitresses are always friendly and thoughtful. Our first time out with our newborn and she was having a meltdown- the waitresses were kind enough to offer a separate room to have our meal. As new parents- this was so appreciated and allowed us to have peace of mind. (They knew we were packing our bags to leave, and had asked for our check, etc.) The menu is pretty expansive which can be very overwhelming but I always enjoyed their aquachiles (with a kick!), I also loved their wet asada burrito as they did not skimp on the sauce. They also offer beers/margaritas- thus this also a good place to get a couple of brews. We will be back! read more

Incompetence of the waitress, they don't pay attention to you very well, they took our order and another table was sat next to us 15 minutes later, much larger group. They served their table of 6 their complete meal, they were half way done eating when we asked about our meal, the answer was there was a mix up with the tickets, it was only 2 of us, how can you mix that up? Wait was 5-10 minutes to sit. Service was very good! We were sat down and our order taken immediately. Food was ready within 10 minutes. We had a shrimp cocktail, oysters prepared, and shrimp scampi. Food was phenomenal. We will be back for sure. read more

I go here once a week to meet with my sister. We order the 7 mares Caldo and warm home made tortillas with quezo fresco. Yum is delicious and big enough to share it. The cafe de olla is so good and complements the meal . The lady's serving are always well dressed and vey nice and helpful . They have some live music at times and a music box you can pay to lisent to music wile you eat . read more

Food is good. Service so so. But again, if the food is fresh and of quality, you have to give a bit back in a review. Been to this location a few times. Never had a bad an experience. The green cream salsa give on their fish or chicken filet is delicious. Not to spicy, but just right. Shrimp in their cocktails are larger than normal and fresh. Their homemade corn tortillas are good and with their cheese and making a corn quesadilla-wow my go to always. Beers cold. Service is a B, maybe a C. But again, they get you what you need timely, just not super attentive. But as mentioned, you have to give a bit back for the good flavors served. read more

I love this place! The service alone is amazing! They seemed to love their job and are super attentive. You feel right at home. Plus they're quick, even when they're super packed. The food is also terrific. My mother and I have tried several plates and they don't disappoint. But the best part about this whole place besides the pricing (it isn't too bad in comparison to other restaurants) is their cafe de olla! It's my favorite. Oh and did I mention they're dog friendly at the outdoor seating?! This place is my go to spot after a Sunday hike. read more

I love this place! The food is delicious and the service is great. Me and my friends come here often for lunch.

Only a few things on the menu are ok, items that you can't fuckup. The service sucks bad and their beers are super expensive $10.50 for a 12oz. I normally consume about 5-6 and wouldn't complain of the price, We were at down and got one drink and placed our order, but the waitress never came back at all, different waitress brought our food, and had to flag another to get our bill. The camarones al caporal are my favorite.... The creamy cheese camarones are so good with the refried bean. My husband likes the mil ajete azteca. The spices are just right. The servers are friendly and stay checking up on you. The ambiance is perfect depending on the day you go. The days I been are Saturday and they have had live music. read more

Came here today for a 2 yr old birthday in the banquet room. Steak fajitas were very good! Room was a bit stuffy. But there were a lot of people in there. Enchiladas were good, rice had good flavor but had some bites that were a bit rough. Beans were good as well. Chili relleno was a bit caked on with the topping. Restrooms were hot and muggy and smelled Bad. Should have better air flow for one toilet. Things are a bit old and run down, food was ok. Servers were not attentive. Once they finally took our order, they told us they didnt have pescado zarandeado, THE ENTIRE REASON WE WENT THERE, other than low budget tilapia, no thank you. We ordered simple fish dish that came with large amount of beans and rice, but super small piece of flavorless fish. Dishes alone were about $50 combined, not worth it. Also, food took FOREVER to come out and there were only two other parties there beside us. Was basically empty. Food took 30 min to come out, ridiculous. Also, during super long wait, the servers made extra effort TO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT. Its like they knew food was taking forever so they purposely stayed away. No, "sorry about wait" or anything, just sitting there unattended the entire wait time. We even heard the other table near us say to servers " did u change cooks? food is not the same!," Only reason we gave 2 stars instead of one is because my mom said her dish was OK. We just moved to the area and found this place. The food is so good that we probably go or order every other week. The girls there are very nice and helpful. They try their best to have food ready for pick up. I always order in advance and give them 20-30 mins for pick up. The drinks are amazing the Michiladas are my go to. Food is spicy and flavorful.
