Anyway, I have not gone out to eat in a while so my fiance found Maracaibo Bistro and it most definitely did not disappoint! He had Bandeja Paisa. His plate. I can not speak enough about how incredible each bite of food was here! Having never had Venezuelan food before, we were excited to just try new flavors. And this did not disappoint! When you can take simple beans & rice and create something so delectable, you know this is top notch. The steak was well cooked, the chorizo was Smokey and delicious and the beef & chicken was packed with flavor. While the kitchen was quite slow tonight, all of the servers were so kind and attentive. The place was set up for Valentines Day. It was cute with the balloons and red hearts. We ordered one beef empanada the sampler, and the Tacos Mar y Tierra. The regular beef empanada was good. I do wish we had known to ask for sauce. I've noticed much much later really way too late. The other tables had sauces and ours did not so I am sure the empanada would've been even better with some sort of sauce. The sampler was OK. It was basically the same thing sort of repeated three different times and three different breads, but the breadsall tastes the same they were just different shapes. I wasn't a big fan of the chicken that was shredded inside, but my son loved the cheese sticks. The best were the tacos. Hands down I would skip the other items and go straight to the tacos. They were absolutely delicious. And there was definitely enough rice and beans with the one to go around. Service was OK. They forgot about us for a long time and they never offered the sauces until the very end when I saw the other tables had it and I asked for some but at that point I only had one taco left and we had eaten everything else. Wow, our first visit after several friends recommended it with Gusto! As soon as you walk in you get this wall of awesome cooking smells. You know it's going to be good. We had the Parrilla Maracaibo that my mom and I shared with some of our other companions and everyone loved how loaded it was. The parrilla had grilled steak, chicken, pork and chorizo. I can't believe I had enough willpower to not eat any before I could take a picture (You are Welcome!). Someone in our party had the Grill Chicken with rice and black beans and they loved it. Our server, Camila checked in several times to make sure we didn't need anything. I loved how she kept scanning the table to see what we might need. If you haven't tried Maracaibo Bistro, you are truly missing out. My friend and I met up on Saturday evening for dinner and as soon as I walked in, I couldn't help but start dancing to the music. It felt like I walked into a party, it created such a fun atmosphere! Our server was very nice and gave us time to look over the menu! I went with the Churrasco and ordered a side of Sweet Plantains. Thankfully, the food was served fairly quickly and everything tasted amazing! You know a restaurant is good when the white rice is even flavorful lol! This place is awesome! Our server Mei was amazing from start to finish! She recommended the ceviche de chicharron (pork belly)....my husband loved it!! The empanadas was excellent! Sophia and I had lunch here recently along with a group of friends from a social group. They've been on my Yelp collection for almost a year now and have received praise from locals. Special thanks to our waitress for making these drinks :) For apps, we picked beef empanadas. This was pretty good. Inside the beef is well seasoned and the outside was slightly crunchy. Cooked just right. For my main course, I selected chicken chorizo, which is chicken topped with chorizo and cheese with a side of rice and plantains. Thumbs up! I loved that they had a thin slice of chicken which made the dish easier to consume. I'm not a fan of cheese dip but this surprisingly worked with the food. And there was plenty of chorizo to devour. The grilled plantains.....very well done. And the rest of our party enjoyed their meals. It's a great thing when people are quiet and eating. That means they're in heaven....LOL!! Honestly. I'm not terribly impressed. We went here for lunch today and the menu was mostly full of chicken, pork, and beef. Not enough seafood items, and only like one or two vegetarian options not including appetizers. Which, another thing, why is guacamole $10?? Are tariffs and taxes really that bad right now? They came with these special chips, which weren't enough either. Not to say the food was bad, because it was good, same with the service and staff, but it just wasn't a good fit for what I want to eat. Decided to switch it up on a sunny Saturday and try something different for my late lunch. I was very happy with the way things went during my visit and it makes me want to go back. Got the sampler to get an idea of how good the apps were. It's definitely enough to share or have for a second serving at a later time. For my entree, I opted for the Bandeja Paisa and it is also enough food to share or you'll leave there full. This dish had a lot of presence with its plating and it made it appealing to the eye and my olfactory senses. Typically, I'm particular about how I like my eggs but they got them perfect in preparation and in seasoning. Each of the items complimented and were delicious. You can park in the front or nearby the door and there's shared parking from the neighboring businesses but not a hassle. Walked in and was able to be seated quickly with the choice of a high table or a standard table. The bathrooms were clean and they have additional seating if you need a minute before trying to hurry out of there with your food baby. Monday through Friday, there is a happy hour with food and drink offers. I'm inclined to check it out and see how different the vibe is during the weekdays. There was a young lady trying to hype up the customers with some music and encouraging a sing along if you knew the words. I didn't so I just decided to smile and pat my foot in camaraderie. Language was a wee bit of a challenge when ordering but patience from the host and customers goes a long way and got the desired results. My party and I were celebrating a work achievement, so we were really looking forward to the night! The atmosphere was lively, and the crowd seemed to really enjoy the place. We started with guac and drinks, which were fine, though not at all worth the price tag...Given the higher price point, I was expecting drinks that packed more flavor, but they were just okay! When it came to our main courses, I had the chicken tacos, and while they weren't terrible, they were a bit dry and lacking in overall flavor. I'd give them a 5/10. The rest of my party felt similarly--satisfied, but not wowed. We definitely had a great time thanks to the celebratory mood, but the food didn't justify the prices. What really left a bad taste, though, was the check--our bill had charges that were higher than what was listed on the menu. Even after taxes and fees, our bill was about $10 higher. After looking over the itemized receipt, it was clear we were overcharged for both food and drinks....Considering the quality of the meal, I don't think I'd return. It just didn't live up to the price, and with those unexpected price hikes, I'm so not inclined to give it another shot. read more

She finished serving the party before us then took our order. She answered all our questions. The restaurant had a good amount of people in there. People must really like their food. I ordered the grilled pork with rice and beans, beef empanadas, a grilled chicken areapa, mozzarella sticks, and fish tacos. My sister got the shredded chicken areapa and shredded beef areapa. Our food took about 15 minutes... Not bad. I will say the cooks put the food in a tiny window to be bagged up. Its kinda weird that they stack several things on top of each other like that. The containers are wide open and its not the best idea because its not sanitary. The bottoms of the containers are touching the food. I do hope they'll fix that. Thats really the only issue i saw. The gentleman who gave us our order was nice. He gave us sauces for our food. I recommend the tasty green sauce. The red sauce is extremely hot. So if you can't hang, don't get it.. Lol. I messed up, it made my buns feel the burn!! Lol. When i got home we dug in. I really like the empanadas. The crust was really good, fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The grilled chicken areapa was ok, but very bland. But the shredded chicken and shredded beef were my favorite. The chicken and beef were very flavorful. Yum.. I also enjoyed the cheesy cheese sticks. Very good!! The beans and plantains were also good. The rice was just white rice. I didn't like the fish tacos at all. They tasted sour for some reason. I don't know but my mouth wouldn't allow me to swallow anymore after that 1st bite. My sister tried it to confirm what i tasted and she agreed the fish was off. So i threw it away. The grilled pork was flavorless and i didn't enjoy it at all. I will say i really enjoyed their appetizers. The main dishes weren't my top picks. But I'd be willing to try other things to see if that changes my mind... I like the vibe of the restaurant and the staff is nice. If your in the area check them out!!
