Our nonexistent shots

Horrible service by the two bartenders on Friday October 4, 2024. it was my friends birthday and we asked about shot options and the bartender said "no " and preceded to tell her coworker something and the coworker said outloud "They want those shots?!?l" and laughed and nobody came to take out order. lol like legit just tell us you can't do it or not. horrible, just don't bother.

Frozen mango margarita
Morlene C.

I am not someone who walks into a restaurant without carefully considering their menu and reviews first, but Caracas Arepa Bar next door quoted me a half hour wait and Maracuja's chalkboard touting their $8 frozen margaritas spelled a great way to pass the time. Fortunately for me and my dining group, they had plenty of outdoor seating, the frozen drinks were delightful, and even the requisite side order of fries were really well made. I appreciate all the precautions the state and city have been taking and requiring businesses to take during the ongoing coronavirus crisis. The Raines law-esque requirements that patrons must purchase "substantial" food to accompany drinks is a bit perplexing and has been spottily enforced in my experience. I've been met with anything from one dollar grilled cheese to free PB&J's, but I sympathize with businesses who need to abide by this rule to avoid getting their liquor licenses suspended so I'd never scoff at having to spending a bit more so I can freely have my outdoor drinks. The most inexpensive side here was their $7 fries, which came in a sizeable portion, were almost skinny enough to be shoestring, were perfectly crisp, and went really well with the delicious frozen mango margarita everyone at my table ordered. Next time I'm in Williamsburg I may make this a destination instead of a lucky happenstance encounter.

Dozen oysters $1 each at happy hour!
Walter T.

Went her back in summer of 2021 ..very fun place and good vibes. Bartender Vale D. Was Perfect bartender and friend! Here ... I had the $1 oysters and their happy hour is fabulous too. Pool table in back ... it's has booth too too inside the place too.. And great music too.

Bathroom. Looks so cool!! Reminds me of barcade in the village lol

I liked it! It was a fun looking place and great music. All I had was a couple of beers but they were great and the female bartender seemed very nice; not pushy or anything like that. The only thing that stinks is that they're located in the middle of nowhere. It just stinks bc I'd like to go there again and it's gonna be a commute; trains are like a 10 min walk away. I was there solo but they have a pool table in there so looks like a great place for friends and dates. Thanks!

Cash only bar, it's 2013 and they don't take cards--ok. Old music and hipsters. There's no place to dance and just a plain scene I'd say

Yuca fries were great. The amaretto sour was perfect, and the bar-keep was hot. Fun place.

The bartender, who now I know is the owner, Charlie, was more that attentive to us and made us feel welcome immediately.

We asked that they include the croquettes among the tapas and we chose the squid ink paella. The croquettes, pork, brussel sprouts, and potato were all perfect and exceptional. The tees leches cake was perfectly moist and not overly sweet as well. I wish there was a little more seafood in the paella l, but the taste was still amazing. The bruschetta and asparagus were delicious, but left something to be desired compared to the other dishes. I had a old fashion to drink, needed something that will warm me up for the cold weather. The ambiance was cute, and chic. There is local artwork on the wall (for sale if that is your goal), there are dozens of seats between couches, tables and even an old wooden desk from the 1930's. Both were rich and dark, and came in a nice porcelain cup. We appreciate the small touches, because coffee in paper cups is just not as tasty. Ambiance: 5/5. The decor is perfect for creative types looking for remote work locations. Plush couches, small high top tables with bankers lights, and a few long coffee tables makes this place ideal for work or socializing. The noise level on a Sunday afternoon was muted, but it might be louder during weekdays. Value: 5/5. The prices are well below market value for Greenpoint, about $1-$2 less than other coffee bars. And they have so many mocktails under $10! Wow it's like 2018 in here!

Cozy couches, nice indoor tables, comfortable outdoor tables too. The coffee was rich and smooth. Not sure who their roaster is, but my latter was a nice full bodied blend. It really hit the spot. My wife likes her lattes with some spice and not every place can meet that request. Red Rover had cayenne which they sprinkled on her latte and for her it was just the right mix. Not too spicy but not wimpy either. Red Ricer is worth a visit if you want great coffee served with a warm coffee house vibe.

A really lovely spot to enjoy some great wine and delicious food! Great selections all aroundread more

It's been a while since I've been the first to review a business on Yelp. Usually one of the food…read moreinfluencers swoop in quickly to review places nowadays. Bouquet is a small business that hasn't promoted much on Instagram or Eater, so it seems to have gone under the radar. I'm hoping I can do it justice as the first reviewer on this platform. We stumbled upon Bouquet during a mini bar crawl in Greenpoint. We initially planned to hit a few spots, but ended up settling in here for most of the night. We were mostly served by Eric who I believe was the owner operator. He's a NYC native who is super passionate about wine. The wine bar focuses on natural wines and other wines which emphasize minimal additives. The goal here seems to be to sell from producers who try to capture magic in a bottle. The wine list is three pages, so it's long but still approachable. There are about ten wines available by the glass. I started with a Montelpuciano. I sampled a bit and found it to be gassy and funky. The bartender was receptive to my feedback and made another recommendation - a different wine from the Loire Valley. The second option was more of what I was looking for. It was a more structured wine with a more traditional palate. I decided to eventually circle back to the Montelpuciano for my second glass. I'm stubborn and like to give a different flavors a chance to grow on me. I'm a person who doesn't like blue cheese but continually tries it just to make sure. The aroma of this wine was minerally. The best description I have is an Iron adjacent smell. Almost like blood but not the same. The flavor was earthy and rooty. It was the best part of the wine. It had a short finish. I'm no wine expert, but I can tell I was tasting something special. The last time I had wine like this was at a wine making competition. I also tried some of the wine on draft. It was an easy going wine that you could easily have a few of. We didn't have any food, but it seemed like the signature of the menu was their smash burgers. They also had some small bites like fries, cheese, olives, charcuterie, and salads. The other big items were schnitzel and the Rigatoni Alla Vino. The operator said the Rigatoni was an ode to a dish from Don Peppe's - a locals' favorite Italian restaurant in Queens. The space is welcoming. It part of the new wave of wine bars that aren't stuffy. It's about trying fun and experimental wines. Young stuff. Not necessarily hawking out for carefully aged vintages. It's fun and the team is very hospitable. Music is what I'd expect from a Queens local. Lots of 90s and 2000s hip hop. Playlist was filled with A Tribe Called Quest, Talib Kweli, and Common. They have some big speakers and turntables for vinyl records. They had a new record from Future which I suppose is something to boost for audiophiles. Acoustics here were as good as any listening lounge that we've been to in NYC. Entertainment wise, they have some board games behind the bar. No TVs inside the bar, but they have a projector in the backyard which can be used for special events. Two gender neutral restrooms. The one I used was handicap accessible. There is a step to enter the establishment, but they have a button to press in order to request assistance with entry. Good luck to Bouquet! They'll certainly be my go to for wine in Greenpoint.
