After having some issues with the countertop company our GC wanted to use, we decided to try finding our own and went to Richstone, just based on reviews. The first thing that I liked was that the rep in the store - ours was Tina - was actually helpful - helpful in suggesting colors, helpful in providing all kinds of information that no one had provided us with before. It took us months to decide on the stone for the countertop, and she was ever patient and responsive. When we finally chose one, it turned out to be really hard to get - and yet, Richstone managed to get it relatively quickly and way faster than the contractor we'd originally been with had told us it would take. Before the install, we got a proof showing exactly how it would look on the counter (and it did end up looking exactly like the proof). The measurement process was painless, quick, and accurate. Installation was way better than we had even hoped for - they were fast, neat, and the finished product was absolutely perfect. It is the one installation in the whole kitchen that actually went according to plan. So they came when they were supposed to, they did the job they were supposed to do, they did it right, and we love the countertops. Moreover, I felt like Richstone guided us through the process and Tina did a lot of hand-holding that I needed, because honestly all of this is pretty confusing and intimidating for a first-timer. We got a quote on the hoa required pavers, but then we got some new ideas from Mackie and switched to those. Our hoa did not allow us to use anything but what we had originally gotten a quote for. To make a long story short, we had to postpone Mackie due to interior home work, but we planned on calling him when this was finished. We did just this. We contacted him to start work on the pavers our hoa approved, which were the first quote we got from him. We were informed that Mackie would not work with the materials he had originally quoted us for. He was not comfortable working with these materials. Needless to say, we were surprised he Told us this. I have contacted our community via Facebook page and informed them to not waste mackie's time on getting a quote because he will not work with materials our hoa has restricted us to. So be careful if you get a quote from Mackie. He seems to not work with certain material. Go with a company that will work with you on what you have to use.

I bought a house with a 32 foot long retaining wall that had completely failed and could have fallen on someone at any moment. I was expecting to have to wait until the Spring of 2022 to get the work done but Omega came through in a huge way and handled the project within a couple weeks of my first meeting with Mackie. We opted to go with a block wall system to avoid issues with drainage (which is why the first one failed) and we could not be happier with the final product. The cost for the work was reasonable and their crew was fantastic. They had the equipment, knowledge and experience to rebuild my retaining wall where it will never move again - and it looks fantastic at the same time. One of the tricky parts was trying to demo the failed retaining wall, which was pinned to the house foundation, without damaging the house or the nice patio just in front of it. They did excellent and got the old wall down without causing extra damage. Being a home inspector I was supervising a majority of the work and have high standards - they went above and behind, over-engineering my wall at times because they had extra material and figured it was worth it which I greatly appreciated. These guys are going to be my go-to referral for any stone/landscape/hardscape/retaining wall needs for myself as well as clients of my home inspection business. Great job Mackie and Omega crew!

I hired Mark for a quartzite countertop installation that cost about $10,000, and unfortunately the…read moreexperience was very disappointing. The main issue was the seam in the quartzite. The veining and color of the stone did not match across the seam, and one side of the slab is noticeably darker than the other. Because quartzite is a natural stone with distinctive veining, I expected the pieces to be matched more carefully, especially at this price point. Another issue occurred when the faucet hole was drilled. A crack appeared in the stone in that area. When I pointed it out, Mark described it as a fissure, but it appeared to be a crack. There was also a gap between the countertop and the wall because the wall in my home is not perfectly straight. Before installation, I specifically asked whether the wall needed to be corrected beforehand. He assured me multiple times it would not be an issue and that the countertop would cover it, so I trusted his judgment. After these issues came up, there was a lot of back and forth, and it became difficult to get a clear resolution. After all of that, he ultimately sent someone else to remove the countertop rather than handling it himself. At that point, I decided not to continue working with him and had to pay an additional contractor out of pocket to complete and correct the work. Overall, this experience reflected a lack of accountability and was not the level of workmanship or professionalism I expected for a project of this size.
