We discovered this chain in Texas two years ago and fell in love so knowing we have one in Columbia off course we had to check it out. And when the kids do good in school what better way to reward them on a Friday night than checking out a new ice cream spot. We came here Friday night and were greeted immediately, at the time there was only one guy working but amazing customer service. My kids both got an ice cream cookie sandwich while I got a half cookie sandwich basically just one cookie and a scoop. The cookies are thin but taste amazing and they even warm them up for you. They have a nice unique flavor of ice cream as well, you can even add toppings which the kiddos loved. There's plenty of room inside to grab a seat. As soon as we sat down another worker showed up and they did get quite the rush but both workers did a great job of getting the line down.
This is exactly what I needed out of a dessert place. I don't normally get dessert but this was worth it. The server (?) was very patient with me in figuring out what I wanted. They even proactively offered out samples which was very kind of them. The place was small on the inside but there were more than enough seats to accommodate at least four small groups of people. I also have no complaints about cleanliness.
So I got a confetti cookie with plain vanilla with sprinkles as a cookie sandwich. It was alright. I also got it hot pressed. I expected the cookies to be warm but it wasn't. The cookies was not soft and was basically a hard cookie with some ice cream. The ice cream it self tasted very nice. I just feel the cookie had been sitting out and got hard like they didn't taste fresh. Like it is expected to be a little hard from the ice cream. However it tasted like it was already hard to begin with. The staff was still pretty nice and they moved very fast to each person. Which was nice. If you would like to try this it is a cool concept, those are just my opinions with what I got the other day. I was very excited to try this so I was disappointed to have that experience.

Instead of choosing one of each, I only chose the fudgy chocolate brownie cookies as the only vegan ice cream option was a vanilla chocolate chip and I was in the mood for something very chocolatey. As far as vegan cookies go it did not disappoint, especially considering it was also gluten-free which at times I find those lacking. The ice cream itself was decent. I've had better but I've had worse. The cookie together was very tasty but overly filling. I probably could have done with half of the portion. My cookie sandwich was about nine dollars. I filled that was decently priced for what I got. I definitely go back if I was in this area and looking for that kind of dessert again.
The kid behind the counter was helpful explaining how this place works. It's kind of like ordering a sub at subway. You tell him what you want and he walks down the line creating it. There is indoor seating but not a lot. Is s small ice cream shop. We got chocolate cookie with mud pie ice cream, cookie and cream ice cream cookie with salted caramel ice cream, and a root beer float. Ot was a bunch of sugar so it was good. I wouldn't say it exceptional. It's ice cream. Just ice cream.

Bear Butter, BlackBerry Crumble, Butter Brittle Cake, Caramel Pretzel Fudge, Chocolate Covered Strawberries, Cookies and Cream, Cookie Dough,Dark Chocolate, Mint Chip, Mud Pie, Old Fashioned Vanilla, Toasted S'mores, and Vegan Vanilla. For a single scoop in a cup or cone is $4. 50(it is a dissent size scoop) double is $6.50 and Packed $9.00 and if you want a waffle cone that is 75 cents extra. Also if you want to ad old topping it is an each 50 cents for each topping. My family got the Bear Butter and it was delicious; I would definitely recommend trying. The Baked Bear also offers cookies, brownies, and ice cream sandwiches. For a regular cookie sandwich is $5.95,combo (cookie and brownie) is $6.50, brownie sandwich $6.95, and Vegan sandwich $6.95. At the Baked Bear they also have unusual flaw cookies. If you want one cookie alone it is $1.50 (they are big cookies), 6-$8, and 12-$16 and brownies are $2.00 each. Some other random items on the menu are hot fudge sundae $6.50, Root beer float $5.50, and a bear bowl (brownie/cookie bowl with one scoop of icecream) $7.95. The flavor cookies they have are: Chocolate Chip, Cookies and Cream,Cookie Monster, Funfetti,Gooey Butter Cookie, Nutella Chocolate Chunk, Snickerdoodle, Whitw Chocolate Macadamia Nut, Vegan Chocolate Chip (extra 50 cents), and Vegan fudgy brownie cookie (extra 50 cents). For the cookie sandwich you don't have to get the same cookie for the top and bottom, you could mix and mix, if you want to. I would definitely recommend going to The Baked Bear, because I will be definitely going back with my family.
Had to stop for some ice cream after a day at the museums. My son got the mint chip in a waffle cone and omg it was huge. We got him the single and it honestly must have been at least 4 scoops. He couldn't even finish it. The single was $5 and we paid extra for the waffle cone. I think $1.00. We decided to come here because they offered vegan ice cream as well. I had a single of the vegan chocolate chunk and it was delicious. Again a very generous "single". I was delighted they offered two kinds of vegan ice cream flavors. My husband had the butter brittle cake flavor in a waffle cone and it was also delicious.
Having date night with my husband was made even better with this dessert. When I think of an ice cream sandwich, I remember the chocolate wafers with vanilla ice cream. These sandwiches have surpassed my expectations. We took them to go, so we didn't get them hot pressed like the girl behind the counter suggested. By the time I finished, I wish I would've gotten another. Military discount are accepted and I'll definitely return and get two for myself.

It's really cute inside, typical ice cream shop vibes. The options and menu was a lot so the guy working was so helpful in explaining the process, flavors, options etc. Although they are known for their ice cream sandwiches, i personally don't like my cookies and ice cream together. My friend and I ordered 6 cookies for $11 and we got a cup of ice cream $5. Toppings are 75 cents. Yall...the gooey butter cake cookie is so good. It's buttery soft and chewy and it just melts in your mouth. I didn't get a photo but I promise you won't be disappointed. I think the star of the show was the ice cream which was brown brittle cake (sorry if I got that wrong) but omg it's to die for. It's vanilla ice cream with brittle and caramel so it has the perfect flavor and texture. I definitely give them a 10.

Baked Bear was alright. I wouldn't say that it was bad, just maybe not my thing. They had a lot of items that looked really sweet, perhaps too much so for my taste buds. For example, the cookies looked so rich that I decided to get a simple cup of ice cream, as I think that if I did try the cookies, I might've thrown up (again, not because they looked bad, but rather because they had a little too much sugar for my liking). My cup of mint chocolate chip ice cream was good, but nothing special. Perhaps it's not really fair for me to rate them too poorly, so I'll just say that it wasn't my cup of tea. However, if you like unique creations that are packed to the brim with sugar, I think you'll like Baked Bear. I guess you just have to try it yourself! read more

Family treat on a rainy day. If you are looking for a great ice cream treat, then stop by! They have several options available, from just ice cream to personalized ice cream sandwiches. My tip..have it warmed! You will thank me later! Inside seating is just 3 tables each seating 4 people. Parking is all Roadside parking with meters. The staff was friendly and did great making suggestions as to what to try. My kids can't wait to return and try more options! read more

I got the chocolate chip cookie with mud pie ice cream. I asked for it to be warmed up. It tasted good but the cookie wasn't warm. It actually was a little hard. Great little spot for some yummy cookies, brownies and ice cream. On our first trip to The Baked Bear, I opted for a brownie sandwich. Two fresh and perfectly warmed brownie slices and some delicious Bear Batter ice cream between them. As a huge fan of warm brownies paired with ice cream this was the perfect end to a night of driving. The Baked Bear offers many other options as far as cookies and ice cream flavors. Plus you can add some topping or just get a plan ice cream cone. We love a spot with multiple options!! read more

What a great dessert spot! They had a ton of cookie and ice cream options to make a cookie sandwich. The cookies tasted fresh and I got mine warmed up so the cookies were soft and warm! The only thing I wish they had was more ice cream flavors but I suppose less is more. Their gooey butter cake cookie is dangerously good. Love the expresso bean ice cream the most -- with caramel it's like Starbucks on a cone. Sorry for a bad photo I already started eating. read more
Glad my friend and I picked this ice cream spot for a Sunday afternoon treat! It was pretty busy, and I only saw one kid working, but he did a great job moving customers through the line. I didn't feel like we had to wait a long time for our ice cream. I chose an ice cream sandwich with Nutella and gooey butter cake cookies and chocolate covered strawberry ice cream. I had it warmed. The cookies were both excellent. I will dream about that gooey butter cake cookie! The ice cream was just so-so. There wasn't a lot of strawberry flavor at all, and it had too many chocolate chips. I wish I had chosen a different flavor. But I would love to go back and try something else! It was a bit pricey, but so is everything in Columbia. Cute little shop. There aren't many tables inside, so you may want to plan to take it with you and enjoy it outside. read more

Soooo good! Can't go wrong with any flavor I've cream or cookie. Love that you can choose a brownie and cookie combo. The best part- it's pressed and warmed up! Delicious! Good customer service. Not a lot of seating and they get really busy in the summers. read more
On Saturday, the kids and I came out here after having a pretty rough day, so it was a good time to go out and get a sweet treat. I saw this place and had book marked it to try out, and I am so glad we did. Arriving, there was a sign on the door to please keep the door closed, which I am a fan of, since there is ice cream being served, and it was so hot. We had to stand outside for a moment before coming in, but this was no big deal. This establishment is small. There are two doors, which I believe to be one way in and one way out. Because of the line, the people who decide to eat in, have to cross through the line to get to the tables. Not a show stopper, lol! My kids and I got our order and went outside, as there isn't much sitting room inside. We were extremely excited with our choices and will definitely be back. The staff was super sweet and helpful and I love the concept of this place. The décor is so cute and fun. We will definitely be coming back to enjoy some more treats at a date soon to be determined (don't judge me), lol! Great spot for some YUM YUM!! This is the newest desert spot in Five Points, the lines have been long for the past few weeks. We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and we timed it perfect because there were no lines!!! They have a variety of mix and match with cookies, donuts, brownies and whatever flavor ice cream combo you want. Service was fast and friendly....we enjoyed all of it. Let me tell yah, the ice cream is the real deal, nothing I would eat on a regular basis but a "must have" treat. Great place to take out of town visitors since they are not located all over. What a place!!! Such incredible flavors. Their cookies are so good. The brownies were even better than any of the cookies I had honestly. But still can't go wrong with a cookie. They are known for their custom ice cream sandwiches. You can mix a cookie and a brownie which is so cool. The bear batter was my favorite flavor. If you're in Columbia you have to come here. Also the staff were incredible. They dealt with SO many people and so close to closing and handled it all so well. So kudos to them. read more

I came last weekend with some friends after our finals were over and the staff was really friendly and inviting. I got the classic cookie sandwich with the signature blue ice cream with chocolate chip cookies, which was $5.50. The ice cream and top cookie was divine but the bottom cookie tasted like cardboard. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch or what. Parking is crap. You have to find a meter and there is limited seating on the inside. Also I think all of the cookie sandwich should come in a bowel because it's really awkward eating out of a paper container with melting ice cream. I will go back to try some other options, but this is my review for my first time walking into Baked be Update: came back a week later and got the combo sandwich (cookie + ice cream + brownie) and the brownie and ice cream was the best part. I'm not a big fan of the cookies here. They just aren't flavorful. The employees are always super sweet but they literally have 20 people working or more like standing around in this tiny location read more
