I ordered the Coffee Crunch combo because it sounded like it had potential, but it was kind of a jump scare. Coffee ice cream, peanuts, and chocolate sauce sounded interesting in theory... in practice it was giving identity crisis. The coffee flavor barely showed up, and the toppings completely took over. Tried one of the cookies too, and unfortunately it was just kinda mid. Overall, probably a 2/5 for me. Not the absolute worst but definitely not one I'd go out of my way for again. Nasty. My daughter got a cup of ice cream and then changed her mind. Her cup with a cone was almost $11. Her friend got it in a cone with more ice cream for under $8. This a little sweet shop with a LOT to offer, I really enjoyed the cookies and the different flavors. They were so yummy! They have a deal where if you buy 5 cookies you get one free :). The ice cream was pretty good, I really thought it was cool that you can choose to have your toppings mixed in or just on top. You also get an unlimited choice of toppings and they had a lot to choose from. The service was nice and they were pretty busy for soon to be closing. I was visiting my friend in Orlando and it was a hot day on Memorial weekend and we wanted some ice cream. The Marple Slab Creamery came through for us both. I felt quite safe as they installed plastic from the top of the ice cream case to the ceiling. Honestly it was a little strange at first site, but I understand why they did it! I ordered one scoop of coconut and one scoop of chocolate with walnuts on top. Wow, those walnuts were much bigger than I expected. The ice cream flavors were creamy and delicious! The ice cream also helped cool my core down which was a nice effect:) They did not have any tables or chairs inside for dining, however they had a few outside. Let's start with the pro. The cheesecake ice cream was great. Unfortunately, that was the only part that was great. I know this is not going to get to the manager/owner (or maybe they just don't care), but at least the community can see my experience and understand that the rest of the one star reviews actually have some weight behind them. If you're going to close at 11pm, then close at 11pm. If you're not going to give the same service as the rest of the business hours, then you shouldn't be open or taking any more orders. My wife and I walk in about 10:47pm. The lady sweeping rolled her eyes at us and begrudgingly went behind the counter. The lady asked us what did we want while staring us down. We explained it's our first time here (although we have been to Coldstone). She just kept on asking us, "Anything else?" She filled up the ice cream cups to the chosen sizes and we waited by the mix-ins to tell them what we wanted. We expected to see our ice cream on the slab but it looks like it was turned off because there wasn't a cold frost over it. After a minute of staring at each other, I asked, "Do we just tell you our mix-ins?" We tell her what we wanted and seconds later the lady slams our ice cream cups on the table with the mix-ins just sitting on top like the picture and falling to the table. My wife and I stared at each other like WTF just happened? We just dropped a dollar in the tip jar and just shook our heads in disbelief. If you can't or aren't going to the job right, then what's the point? Close early and/or tell the customers the slab is not on or tell them that you aren't doing any more orders. I would rather be sad that something doesn't work (like the ice cream machine at you know where) instead of workers reluctantly doing their job because of closing everything down before the shop even closes. read more

My friend and I stopped by after our dinner at Marlow's Tavern. This ice cream hit the spot!! I love a good homemade ice cream. You can choose two flavors and have AS MANY toppings you'd like. You are allowed to taste test any of the flavors. Man, all the flavors were great!! I chose the peanut butter and the birthday cake mixed with raspberries and sprinkles. My friend ordered the birthday cake and dark chocolate. She is on a slight diet, so she said no to the toppings :p Another thing I love I love about this place is how they put the ice cream together. They take the flavors you pick and smash them down with the ingredients you chose. Using some type of utensil, they smash your ice cream into your choice size cup( you can choose a regular cup or a cup with a waffle cone covering inside). It has been a while since we have visited a Marble Slab but I remembered that you could get just about anything you want in your ice cream. Well, either my memory failed me or I was flat wrong. Tonight around 6:30pm, we stopped in for a milkshake and I wanted a mix of three different ice creams (dark chocolate, cinnamon and coffee) and was told that this was not possible. I was told that I could only have a mix of two ice cream flavors. I asked, "even if I pay extra?" Still the answer was no. I wasn't asking for more ice cream, just three different flavors. The worker said her manager wouldn't allow it. I asked for the manager's email and they didn't have it. They only had a business card with the store phone number. The store employees do not have the store manager's contact information! What bothers me is that this was a super simple request and they don't have their managers email. If this place can't fulfill the smallest of requests, couldn't even offer an alternative, and was actively willing to lose a customer, that's pretty poor service. We walked out without ordering anything, disappointed and mad. My request wasn't unreasonable and would have been very simple to accommodate. This is an awfully ridiculous policy to have that lost us as customers. I would have gladly sent this review as a private comment to the store manager, but that was not possible. This tiny shop has been in the Waterford Shopping Center probably since the beginning of it's time, and my family has been countless times. My mom loves their rum ice cream and adds raisins. This place is great for a quick craving in and out type of deal. There isn't much sitting area but it's fine cause it's just ice cream shakes or cakes. The pricing is moderate. I don't think it's over priced at all. You're definitely getting a bang for your buck because it's unlimited mix ins so I recommend you get crazy. I did a small cup mixed in with red velvet and sweet cream with some Oreos. Best. Decision. Ever! It was so flavorful. We also got the majestic shake cookie dough it was $9.99 and it was soooo delicious. My friend is actually allergic to nuts so the young man upfront was kind enough to ask around and get those items removed and put on the side for them. This was my first time coming back here in a while, and i was quite disappointed. We were greeted dismissively, even though we were the only people in there. We came in at around 7 (nowhere near closing time) but both employees seemed about ready to leave. The lady taking our order didn't ask what we wanted, she just stood around waiting for us to order. The menu was pretty overwhelming, and i had to ask about the prices for the cones and cups, and the lady i asked seemed new and had to ask the other employee, which is not too much of a problem. On the other hand, the prices seemed outrageous for the sizes of the cups and cones. I got a single plain waffle cone and it cost almost 8 dollars. I didnt think a tip was necessary, so when i entered 0 dollars in the custom tip, the computer would not let me continue. This is honestly baffling because what place won't even let you tip 0 dollars when neither of the workers provided adequate service. The only plus was that the service was quick and i was handed my ice cream within a minute. The lady handed me the ice cream and it was quite frankly the saddest ice cream I've seen. They only filled the cone up to the edge, and the presentation was not up to par. I ordered a cone with cheesecake ice cream, fudge, and Oreos. This shop is very similar to Cold Stone Creamery. Should you be looking for regular value priced ice cream or quick soft serve then this would NOT be the place for you. Personally, I really enjoy the Ice Cream here. They seem to use a much higher milk fat resulting in super rich with a super creamy feel. You don't often see cinnamon ice cream and this place nails it. Sure it's not that complicated but they have the perfect mix of ingredients. That being said, this place does charge equal to the effort in hand making ice cream on the premises. So it's not cheap. I certainly can't have a milkshake daily but this place is my $7 milkshake treat spot at least once a month. Think $7 is crazy for a milkshake ? You can get many Starbucks Frappe or 5 bucks or Mc Donald for a buck. Personal taste as well as value. SO this place is NOT cheap..but at least they are good. Oh and it's an Ice Cream Parlor. Teenagers and College students work here. Certainly the service is going to be hit or miss depending on staff. I have gave good service or average service but nothing I would consider offensive or sub par for an ice cream shop. Who doesn't love ice cream! Can't go wrong at marble slab. I've been here on several occasions and the only downside can be the wait on the weekends but given it is next to the move theaters and in Waterford lakes, sometimes you just have to expect it and enjoy the wait as well. My favorite mix is to get strawberry ice cream with brownie, fudge and sprinkles. Love the flavor and texture of those mixing's.
