I visited Grilled Cheezus in Oviedo, FL during the Pickle Festival in July, and I have to admit I…read morewas a bit skeptical at first about trying a grilled cheese sandwich with pickles in it. However, I'm really glad I gave it a shot. I didn't try any of the other grilled cheese options on the menu, so I can't speak for those, but the one I ordered was absolutely delicious. The bread was grilled to perfection crispy on the outside, warm and buttery on the inside which made the pickle texture inside feel like a natural complement rather than something unusual. The pickles still had a nice crunch throughout, which added a really satisfying contrast. I also added hot honey chicken to my grilled cheese, and that was a great decision. It added a sweet and spicy kick that elevated the entire sandwich and gave it an extra layer of flavor that really stood out. Their approach to grilled cheese is honestly impressive. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared, and you can tell they take pride in their technique. The sandwich also came with a side of tomato soup, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It paired perfectly with the sandwich and created a really comforting, well-balanced meal. The only downside was that it took a little longer to receive my order, but I'm assuming that was due to the festival crowd that day. Ordering was still very easy through a kiosk system, and they provided a number so I could get notified on my phone when my order was ready, which was convenient. The setup is very much a walk-in and order type of place with no indoor seating, but there is a nice outdoor area available to sit and enjoy your food. You don't have much direct interaction with the staff, but when I did, they seemed friendly. You can see them working behind a large glass partition, and it's clear everything is made fresh to order right in the back. Overall, I was really impressed. Despite my initial hesitation, the food exceeded my expectations, and I would definitely recommend Grilled Cheezus to anyone especially if you're open to trying creative twists on a classic grilled cheese.

The food was actually really good. Everything was hot, crispy, and tasted great. My kids loved theirs, which is always a win. The only thing that threw me off was the price. Two grilled cheese meals came out to almost $40, which felt pretty high for what it is. As good as it was, I don't know if I'd come back regularly just because of that. The service was great though, everyone was super friendly and helpful. Overall, really good food and great service... just wish it was a little more affordable. 4 stars from me!

We ended up sitting at the bar to avoid waiting for a table. The bar was really tight but we made it work. My friend ordered an espresso martini, and it was too milky. For our food, everything was excellent. The avocado toast was fresh and the eggs were perfectly over medium. The home fries were also perfectly crispy. My friend ordered the kale salad with chicken and we both agreed it was one of the best salads we've ever had. The kale was fresh, the chicken was very tender and the dressing was the perfect amount. Between the service and food, we had an excellent experience!

Stopped in at Briarpatch on Park Avenue for a weekday brunch to continue my birthday celebrations…read more Even for a standard weekday, the place was packed to the gills, which is par for the course here, though being seated right by the front door had its downsides. Our high-top caught the steady breeze of people cycling in and out, trading blasts of humid Florida air with AC, but it was manageable enough. Our server was solid and attentive, though the kitchen had a couple of operational hiccups. I ordered the fried green tomatoes to start, but they were forgotten until after our main plates had already landed on the table. When they arrived, the execution was decent. The batter didn't adhere well and slipped off the tomatoes, though the accompanying sauce carried the dish nicely. On the drink side, the virgin blackberry lemonade hit the mark completely: balanced, tart, and refreshing. The breakfast mains were where the kitchen redeemed itself. I built my meal around the bacon and mushroom omelette, which was formidable. It was fully loaded with bacon, cheese, peppers, onions, and mushrooms without feeling greasy or heavy. They had run out of biscuits, which was surprising for a brunch spot mid-shift, so I subbed in sourdough toast. The undisputed star of the meal was the side of cheese grits. I am notoriously particular about grits, restaurants almost always serve them under-salted, gluey, or watery, requiring a table-side overhaul of butter, salt, and pepper. These were dialed in straight from the kitchen. The texture, dairy integration, cheese ratio, and baseline seasoning were spot-on without needing a single touch of salt or pepper. Minor timing and stock quirks aside, BriarPatch remains a reliable staple. I left full, satisfied, and reminded why it is always worth keeping in the local Park Ave rotation.

She definitely explained everything and let us know specials and things like that. We ended up getting a strawberry smoothie and I got a cookie Alamo with a double chocolate chip cookie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream and it was so good. I do wish the Cookie was a little hotter, but I just know that's my preference but everything was good though with that... my son smoothie was so good. I wanted to actually get me one after but that cookie was so filling I actually forgot about the smoothie after a while but it's definitely a little cute nice place to stop by I will be back cause the waffles look phenomenal

It included strawberries, condensed milk, powdered sugar and I thought whip cream. I didn't realize until till later it didn't have the whip cream but regardless all the additional add ons made it super sweet. So I probably didn't need any whip cream. It was too sweet for my taste. The quality of the waffle was good. I would maybe in the future try a different flavor but I was not crazy about the one I tried. The staff was nice, presentation nice but for those prices I expected the waffle to be a little bigger and taste better. I think paid nearly $15 for a very small waffle that was way too sweet.
