After being a homeowner for many years, I've had to switch insurance agents a few times. Honestly, I had gotten too settled and didn't want the headache of making another change, but deep down I knew I needed to due to poor service and lack or response. I went to the internet to request quotes for hurricane and hazard insurance. Most companies just sent me a link that took me an endless loop to apply. Lisa-Ann was the only person that called me and got my information and gave me a quote the next day. The quotes were very reasonable and I'm considering going with them. As a second generation State Farm customer, I have to admit that I was a little skeptical about reaching out to any other insurance company. For years I had always just thought State Farm was the best and that is it. Well, nothing against State Farm or any other provider, but Marc Dixon and his team at Allstate really opened my eyes about the benefits of being appropriately insured. I had my homeowners policy with another insurance company. I recently purchased a personal vehicle and needed auto insurance. The "other" company refused to honor the auto quote I received online because it "looked like" I had a gap in insurance coverage. However I have had a company vehicle with unlimited personal use for the last 7 years. After explaining my issue to the two assistants and the main agent -- they basically said "there's nothing we can do." The difference was in the hundreds of dollars for a 6 month premium. This made me look elsewhere for insurance. Of course I checked Yelp and Marc had stellar reviews so I inquired about switching my homeowners policy and starting an auto policy. Marc has been a great. I moved my renters policy over to him and he immediately called to point out that under my current terms I didn't get full replacement! I had no idea. Apparently I'd only get 'value now' for lost/damaged property, not the buy-a-new-one amount. He also pointed out a couple of other benefits which I added on, all for just a few dollars. No hard sell, just letting me know what was out there and how it could benefit me and my wife. I have other friends who use him and they're very happy.
