I was in search of a similar setting, but also aimed to save money. Through group on I had bought passes and tried several classes with various Social Salsa and Bachata groups with out the quality that i was looking for, they all taught combos and broke down the steps primarily focused on the leads role. I felt as a fallow we were there just as learning tools for the leads which was very disappointing. There is so much more to being a follow, and so much more to dancing then just learning the steps. RF was next on my list, I had been following them and a friend invited me to a social dance at the studio. I met Mike for the first time, was a great host, extremely welcoming and friendly. He invited me back to the studio with a complimentary pass for a fee trial class. My first day I arrived to observe a class so i could watch and get a feel for the studios tone. What caught my eye was Mike's attention to detail! His perfectionism during a fundamentals class, in addition to his explanation of body mechanics, body alignment, posture, turn out, hip rotation etc. He saw his students as individual dancers! During group class The combos were broken down for the leads as well as the follows! The spoke about tension, connection.... where is the lead taking you you and how to follow the lead properly. The emphasis and importance of a follow keeping her frame. Finally, my search was over! An affordable studio that upheld quality and professionalism starting with the owner and transcending throughout all the instructors. I have met great people and amazing dancers at all levels. Such great vibes here that my 13 and 15 yr old started taking classes drawn in by Kike's cumbia class, branching out to Geraldo's bachata shines class... and now venturing into salsa. My daughter is super excited to try Amelia's Salsa on2 heals class, which I love! Thank you RF Dance and instructor's I could not have found a better studio to grow as a dancer, while sharing my love of dance with my children.

I'm beyond impressed by his ability to teach while seemingly-effortlessly demonstrating the moves himself. I struggle with dance technique (and basic coordination---eek), and feel like I'm slowly improving while consistently enjoying a killer workout. Matt's classes are such a warm, welcoming way to start (or end!) the day. Grateful for him, and for the communal safe space that he has built.

She was extremely welcoming and greeted me right away, which was so sweet! She's adorable! Love her energy. Her playlist is awesome and incredibly fun. Easy to follow and high energy. Love how she incorporates fitness elements to her choreo. It's cardio, so come ready to sweat and get that heart rate up. Well. This review a…read morebit overdue. So i have been coming to OC Salsa for 2-3 months now. I tried Salsa dancing back in college but it didnt spark much interest. Now that I am in my 30s, worked for 8 years and dated my ex for 6 years. Things have changed. I decided to try this hardcore instead of all the common guys hobbies. you know. guns, cars, PC, sport etc etc I picked this studio because of the schedule and setting. The membership pricing is easier to manage. They have a banging Black Friday Sales (wink) People are very friendly, they may take some times to get familiar with you. I understand, there is alot of people would only show up a few times. The dance instructors are great. They teach the key details even at beginner level. I enjoy the overall studio facilities. I…read morestarted to practice ballet a couple years ago, and I always wanted to introduce this art to my husband, who is a real beginner at dancing. The basic level adult ballet classes in other dance studios are sometimes too difficult for people who have zero background, and this could often cause them feel left behind. However, the Align method avoids this problem by providing constructive classes that help my husband to systematically learn basic skills, and also help me to adjust my postures accurately. As an adult practitioner, I am amazed by the efficiency of this method. Our instructor, Miss Kiara, is the perfect teacher that I highly recommend to people who want to enjoy dancing with good music in a pleasant environment. For me, she is very artistic. Her movements and the design of combos are smooth, elegant, poetic, and match the music well. There were some moments that I felt I was too engrossed in dancing and couldn't believe that one hour just passed. Kiara is also good at using creative ways to explain techniques, which make perfect sense and at the same leave strong impressions of the correct ways of doing a specific movement. Her language can capture the "spirit" of a movement. In a nutshell, the classes that Kiara offer are energetic, enjoyable, and most importantly, her classes will lead you to see the beauty of ballet.

Where do I even start? Align Ballet Method is the ideal program for adults who have never taken…read moreballet before and want to learn. From talking with other students in the class, there isn't any studio or program that is like this one. As a 30-something, with Kiara's instruction, I revived my childhood dream of dancing ballet. I don't have any dance experience and am oftentimes not coordinated or have musicality, but I've definitely improved so much since starting with Align Ballet Method in July 2019. I'm so, so, so happy and thankful that Kiara is able to teach down here in OC (more studios are based in LA). She is such a blessing to have as an instructor. What I always imagined how a ballet class would be like is how Kiara instructs us, her students. I feel that I'm getting professional ballet instruction with a more relaxed atmosphere where a beginner can learn more comfortably without judgment. You can advance through the different levels at the pace you feel comfortable. What makes the Newport Beach location special is definitely the great instructor of the workshops. Even if you retake a workshop for another 6 weeks, no class is ever exactly the same and you still continue to build on previous classes. I always leave each class feeling more motivated and inspired to improve my dance practice. Happy dancing!

I first met Marcos and Ruta almost seven years ago. They had a weekend workshop and as I had been…read moredancing Tango for about a year it seemed like a good idea to take the workshop. The workshop was amazing, Marcos had a way of breaking down, explaining and teaching even the most difficult moves that he made them look simple to learn. I was hooked on the QMethod (tm pending) way of learning. I immediately wanted to take private lessons from them, but at that time they were based out of Las Vegas and came to OC only once a month. No problem, I booked TEN lessons for each month for that weekend. Intense? Yes, it was and well worth it. Fast forward a couple of years, and Marcos and Ruta moved to Southern CA. Now, I could take lessons every week and multiple sessions at that and I was happy. I even made it to their group sessions. After hundreds of sessions, my Tango journey continues on with Marcos and Ruta in the present day. I have danced at Tango festivals around the world with a multitude of partners. I do get compliments, and have even been mistaken as an Argentinean due to the way I dance. I owe it all to Marcos and Ruta that have patiently guided me throughout my journey, and still guide me today. They also are more than just instructors. They have become dear friends. Needless to say, I recommend them to anyone wishing to learn Argentine tango. I have taken a lot of lessons from different teachers, and without reservations I can say that they have no equal.

Marcos y Ruta Questas at Q Method Tango are top class Argentinian tango instructors…read more For some background on my argentine tango experience: I took group lessons for about five months from two other tango instructors at different studios before starting group lessons with Marcos y Ruta. They have Monday group classes at 7:45 PM, at Dance United LH. At the first group class, I immediately knew I found my tango "home." Marcos and Ruta gave some warm up drills and then immediately dived into teaching us technique with the steps / movements we were learning for that class. I've never had instructors work on technique during the class -- it showed me how much they cared about their students learning the art of tango, not solely the tango steps. Marcos and Ruta are both patient and caring instructors! Besides the quality and instructive group classes, Ruta and Marcos host a monthly themed milonga at Dance United LH. I have attended other milongas at other dance studios but Marcos' and Ruta's milonga is the best! I felt comfortable going alone or with my fellow tango students. The cozy ballroom and lighting makes the experience feel authentic! Ruta also prepares sweet and savory appetizers so it is nice to enjoy a little something in between tandas. I've recently started private lessons from Marcos to improve my technique, posture, etc. Marcos is a legendary and skilled Argentinian tango dancer and instructor.
