I am so glad I found NS Dancing. Nataliya and Sergio are THE WORLD CLASS Ballroom Champions and THE BEST TEACHER!! I just started lesson with Sergio a month ago and WON my first Ballroom dance trophy!! WOW!! I love their passions of dancing and teaching, basic techniques and forms are amazing. Nataliya and Sergio are not only world-class performers, but world-class teachers too. While I have not had previous dance instruction, I've had plenty of instruction in other physical activities (from music to sports to martial arts to even circus acts) to have a fairly good gauge of how effective an instructor is. It's not only their attention to detail that impresses me, but their ability to pinpoint the conceptual obstacles that keep a student from improving. I am so comfortable with their ability to communicate and their teaching style that I even pay for half my mother's classes so that she may experience one-on-one instruction, and my mother's grasp of English is sometimes very shaky. (From the big smiles I see on her face every time she comes back from a lesson, the language barrier is definitely not an issue!) I have taken instruction from both Nataliya and Sergio (though obviously I have worked with Sergio the most as a partner) and they are both exquisitely encouraging without being pushy, and wonderfully complementary. Their technique is expressive and clean and the breadth of their experience and imagination is evident in the variety of routines they've created. I'm the type of person who, when I decide to learn something, I don't like to waste time dipping my toes in the water - I want the top tier instruction so that I maximize my money and my time and don't learn bad habits from sub-par instruction. My son and I have had an arrangement since he was eight years old that, as soon as he was taller than me, we would take swing dancing lessons. We found Nataliya through Lessons.com and have been so pleased. We have had five lessons so far, and we have learned East Coast Swing, Rhumba, Salsa, and Tango. We are having the best time. Nataliya is able to cater to both of our needs at our different levels of experience. She makes the lessons fun for my fourteen year old, and he keeps asking to learn more dances and routines. Nataliya and Sergio are absolutely fantastic! My family has been taking lessons from them for years and they really focus on what YOU want to learn. They're great with any range of skill levels and your learning experience is of the utmost importance to them. What really stands out to me, though, is their willingness to go outside the box to try totally new things that I don't think many other dance instructors would do. For example, last year my mother wanted to do a dance showcase for her 50th birthday bash featuring the USC Marching Band to the tune of "Party Rock Anthem". Yes.. you read that correctly, the USC Spirit of Troy Marching Band! The Band already had an existing dance routine to the tune, so Nataliya and Sergio created a unique 2 minute routine that ALSO included the Marching Band's existing routine. They actually spent over a month practicing to a youtube video of the Band performing the song so that they could get it right! All in all, it was truly fantastic to see a 20 piece marching band playing and dancing with my mom at the center of it and it was all thanks to Sergio and Nataliya :) Thank you both!! read more

Let me give you the punch line first: Nataliya and Sergio are the BEST, don't bother looking elsewhere. And here's my evidence of why they are the best: - They love what they do and care about what you like/want. We brought our wedding song in, and our choreography was customized, hit all the dramatic parts of the song, and included a great balance of easy and challenging parts after they saw our (average but decently coordinated) capabilities. We even saw videos of them in their pajamas at home, working through our song so they were ready to give us the best choreography and instruction when we showed up for our lesson. I appreciated the extra time and care they took for us, in addition the hours spent together in a dance lesson. - They are highly adaptable in their teaching style to suite your needs. I have some ballroom background while my fiancé had none. In each lesson, steps and styles were clearly explained in a way that made sense for each of us. If something was unclear to me or him, they patiently re-explained it a different way. - They have the best attitude. Never frustrated, always smiling even if we promised to practice and we didn't. Even though it was our fault, they didn't take advantage of that by just repeating last lesson's steps. They will recommend what we should do, but still ask us if we'd prefer to move on or repeat. - I wasted time by researching elsewhere so you don't have to. They have highly and I mean HIGHLY competitive pricing. - They teach in nice studios with good floors, AC, and many mirrors. - Even though they are super nice, they care about the details and us looking good, so they are well balanced in their reminders and lessons.
