I wouldn't take my car back here if my engine blew up, transmission went out, and all 4 tires popped at the same time right in front of the dealership. I spent 3 hours for an oil change, tire rotation and 30k maintenance on my vehicle. They did none of the 30k maintenance. The first item on the checklist for 30k maintenance is to replace the windshield wipers. They emailed me after my appointment was made to ask if I wanted my wipers replaced, and I said yes, it's part of the 30k maintenance. When I arrived I stated again I wanted my wipers replaced as part of the 30k maintenance on my vehicle. They didn't even do the 30k maintenance at all. Just a regular inspection expected with every vehicle. 3 fucking hours for a fucking oil change and tire rotate. Absolutely unacceptable. Then they LIED to me and said that tire plugging is illegal (it's not). They just wanted to sell me tires and rip me off. The service writer claimed there was NO Air leaking from my tire. Interesting since you can SEE the bubbling of air coming out when you spray it with soapy water like you are supposed to. Can't upload the video so a photo will have to do. And OF COURSE the manager was on lunch, so there was no one to talk to. Then, as I was pissed off, some asshole said well you're not a customer anymore so you need to leave. What in the actual FUCK? I just paid you for service. So I get in my car and EVERY SINGLE THING THAT CAN BE ADJUSTED ON MY SEAT WAS MOVED. YOU DO NOT NEED TO CHANGE THE LEAN OF THE SEAT OR LIMBAR CONTROL TO PULL THE CAR INTO YOUR SHOP. read more

I have always bought my vehicles from Marchant, Scott was great, fast and friendly when I purchased my SUV a year and half ago. I bought the extended warranty because of it being used, started having trouble with SUV over Christmas, called Marchant was advised to take to Volvo since they did not have a mechanic that could work on it, took it to Volvo, told them I had extended warranty to cover the oil trap box that needed to be replaced, and found out it expired just after 24k miles after paying $2850, I was told that this warranty would be good for three years. Called Marchant, spoke with Finance Manager, and all he could say is he was sorry for not explaining in detail the extended warranty or ever telling me, I will not be going back to Marchant! read more

Yes Marchant is still a car dealership with chatting salesmen, but they actually gave a great opening price and even negotiated to give me an even LOWER price. I was in the market for a used Chevrolet Volt, and being in Charleston those are few and far between but also they are very very hard to sell for the dealerships (this is truck country not electric car country!) I was able to get a great price below KBB market value. The car is three years old with barely any miles for that age and looks like it's barely been driven. I will say our salesman didn't know anything about electric cars but I didn't mind because they don't sell many here so why would he?! I know he is very knowledgeable on their top cars and Chevrolet as a make in general. We were able to test drive the car twice no questions asked, after the first time they didn't ask for our names or numbers or emails to stalk us later. Our 2014 chevy Silverado had airconditioning problems. Of course, it was at 5,000 miles beyond the warranty when we noticed it. We took it to the dealer where we purchased it and they pretty much said, no warranty, you pay. The estimated amount they wanted to diagnose it was $190. this did not include fixing the problem. I spoke with Nancy Beam at Marchant and she told me that there was a possibility that their service department could check with chevy to see if there was any way that chevy could help us. She also said that the diagnosis in their service dept was only $140. We took our '14 chevy to Marchant today to have it diagnosed. While there, my husband spotted the new Silverado's on the lot. Salesman Shawn Couch was very informative without having any practiced sales pitch to toss our way. Like my husband, Shawn was a former US Marine (excuse me, once a Marine, always a Marine) so for us, that was a plus to having him as our salesman. Shawn never pressured us at all to purchase a new vehicle, as he was aware that we were just there for service. To make a long story shorter, Nancy was able to get Chevy to take care of the air conditioner for $300. Yea Nancy Beam!!! BUT, in the meantime, my husband had found himself a new Silverado. With Joey's help and financial guru-ism and once Randy had all the paperwork done, we brought home a brand spanking new 2020 Silverado Z71 with most all the bells and whistles. I purchased another car about 3 months ago and I was not extremely satisfied because it had an issue that no one could seem to find out what was going on. Purchased a new Silverado from Rusty at Marchant Chevy on 07/16/16. It was the 3rd new vehicle purchase I've completed within the last two and a half years. Without a doubt it was the most comfortable and stress free vehicle purchase I have ever made. From the purchase, to my trade negotiation, to the financing every aspect of the transaction was great. On the contrary, the prior purchases at local Hendrick dealers were not so great. Hopefully my wife is converted to Chevy now because I don't really feel like doing a car purchase anywhere else anymore. If you want the inflated prices of the garbage dealer add-ons that can add thousands to your purchase price, go somewhere else. If you want a stress free transaction without getting gouged for stuff you don't need, go to Marchant. Rusty is a great and pleasant salesman and Randy in finance was awesome too. In fact, he got me a way better finance rate than the other place and it was .5% better than what I was going to get through USAA. So, do yourself a favor.
