Marco installed a large wrought Iron/glass double door with side lites manufactured by Grand Entrances in our home. It's around 12 feet wide and 12 feet high. There are so many things that can go wrong with an installation like this but Marco was meticulous along the way to make sure that everything went smoothly. He started with measuring the opening prior to manufacturing the door to verifying the measurements upon delivery to the home. He spent a lot of time to prep the home to make sure that the house was kept clean and that there was no paint or stucco damage. He worked with my security guy by drilling a hole in the door to allow for a security sensor, he did minor paint touch ups and even fixed a minor defect in the glass door latch. Marco installed a front door we purchased via Grand Entrances- 2 doors w/ 2 sidelights. The doors are gorgeous - dark wood with iron grills over etched glass. These were replacing older doors/sidelights that had been here for 20 years. Marco and his assistant showed up on time, instantly taped up the front entryway to control dust. I didn't see much of the progress (because of the plastic sheeting) but from some of the sounds (lots of power tools and banging), I was a little nervous to see the final result - especially because the interior walls had just been painted. Unnecessary worry, the doors were beautiful in place and not a single scratch to the surround. I have no idea how they are able to swap out doors so cleanly, but they do. And, Marco and his assistant are just nice people so you don't mind having them at your home. We hghly recommend Marco! read more

Last year, we saw somebody running down the side of house in the early morning during a holiday weekend. It is not a public right of way, so we were concerned. Later, we found that a sliding screen door had been moved from the outside, so it seemed likely that there had been an attempt to break in to our house. There were two outer doors that we felt were not up to our security standards, so we then sought the advice of a local part-time sheriff and his wife. They recommended Grand Entrances on Miramar Road in La Jolla. Grand Entrances sent Marco Bugarin out to measure and assess the complexity of our installation before we ordered new secure doors. Marco was professional, polite and impressive from the start. He really knows his stuff. He measured and discussed the process with us, then sent his dimensions to Grand Entrances to ensure that our doors would fit securely. About a month later, the security doors were ready to deliver, and after we approved them, Marco arranged an installation date with us. He arrived with a helper (Andrew) and they began work soon after 7 am. They carefully screened off the open doorways with plastic to contain dust as much as possible. They also coordinated delivery of the doors from Grand Entrances, so that we did not have to oversee getting heavy hardware to the correct places. Both Marco and Andrew worked tirelessly until about 8pm to make sure everything was installed to our satisfaction. Marco even gave us advice about when to paint and seal the surfaces. I have to say that the result is superb. It is like living inside Fort Knox, but feeling that you are in a palace. Great job on the installation work by Marco's company, and now we feel a lot safer. read more

Purchasing a quality front door was important to me, however, having the best installer was also important to me (my original door was poorly installed which led to damage to my wood floor, gaps around frame, etc.) After meeting with him, I knew that Marco was my guy. He's very professional and communicative with the installation process. He also accommodated my busy work schedule to install the door on a Saturday! Marco installed our front doors this last week and did an awesome job! The doors are oversized, Metal, and heavy duty. The old door+side panels was rectangular in frame. The new doors are arched, so the work required cutting through the stucco exterior which worried us because the color is impossible to match. Marco was able to carefully and precisely cut the wall for the new frame without the need to patch and restucco. He installed the doors (installed day 1 and adjustments/cleanup day 2) taking great care on getting them working perfectly. Upon inspection we can't even tell there used to be a different door there! His demeanor is very professional and polite and he takes care to keep any mess confined while working. He was punctual, worked hard, barely taking time to eat lunch, and worked until it was too dark to work more. It's hard to find contractors these days that take pride in their work, but Marco is definately one of them. We could not be happier with his work and definately recommend him! read more
