Wow! What an experience just trying to order a pizza. It was hard getting the pizza we wanted rather than the pizza they wanted us to have. The customer service was good but there so many rules. We couldn't get thin crust in extra large. It was a problem to change from XL to large so we could get this crust. They had to get someone from the back to help. By then end of the transaction, I didn't even want the pizza. At least the restaurant looked clean but we ended up getting the pizza to go. read more

I had an absolutely terrible experience at Marcos on Hard Scrabble. On May 9, 2025, at 10:25 PM, I placed a delivery order for a Medium Deluxe pizza with double Italian sausage and pineapple on a thin crust. My order number was 354. To my dismay, when the pizza arrived, it was not what I had ordered. I quickly called the store and spoke to a man who seemed to take his job very lightly. He was laughing and joking around instead of addressing my issue seriously. I explained that my order was incorrect, but he insisted that he had prepared it himself and claimed it was the right pizza. I expressed my frustration and requested a refund, asking them to pick up the incorrect pizza. He informed me that the delivery driver had already gone home for the night and that I would need to come to the store to return the pizza for a refund. I complied and brought the pizza back to the store, where I showed the man that it was indeed the wrong order. Instead of acknowledging my concern, he dismissed me and continued to gaslight the situation. I asked once more for my refund, but to no avail. Eventually, he contacted his manager and explained the situation while still insisting there was nothing wrong with the pizza. He mentioned that we needed a refund but didn't know how to process it. After a few minutes, the manager said she had canceled the order and that my money should be back on my card within about 36 hours. When I checked my account, there was no pending transaction. I then asked for some form of confirmation, like a receipt, but the manager told her employee that there was nothing she could provide to prove the cancellation. The employee, who was on a cell phone call with the manager, was asked to request a screenshot of the cancellation, but she refused. I then suggested that he ask her to send an email, which was also denied. Instead, she instructed him to call the police on us. I asked the employee for her name, but he acted as if he couldn't disclose it. While still on the phone with the manager, he asked for permission to share her name, but she simply hung up. This entire ordeal was incredibly frustrating and stressful, and I will not be ordering from this location again due to their unprofessionalism. The manager seemed completely indifferent to the distress of both her employee and the customers. I will be sharing my experience to warn others about this unpleasant situation. It is truly disheartening to have a customer service representative suggest calling the police over a service issue. Eventually, the employee did tell us the manager's name: Christine. read more

I always go to Marco's. I place my order while my car is charging and pick up when finished. Today I walk into a completely empty Marcos on Forest drive 5 minutes after my email says order complete. The girl working the kitchen looks at me, then looks away and begins to make a pizza. Then she goes looks at some orders and throws together a sub, at this point I've been standing 18 minute. I call out to the girl and ask her if I can get the pizza that's just sitting on the shelf getting cold, she tells me to hold on and begins to make a salad.... They have never treated me this rudely. She comes to the counter, I say my last name, hands my the cold pizza and goes right back to working. I have used Marco's for years. But over the past two years I have noticed a decline in service. Recently(last night), I ordered my usual: wings X2, large pizza, cini-bread and pizzoli. The driver dropped my cinna-bread on the porch. He mentioned, someone else backed the carry case. That canceled his tip for me! I did not call the store, because at this point, I am moving on. Then driver stated, he said could bring some back. Not to mention, I did not get the pizza red sauce for the pizzoli. Last month, no cinnabread was delivered, past purchase.I can go on and on. I have video confirming Grub Hub left my pizza on my wet porch like an Amazon package and didn't bother to ring my doorbell. Recently moved back to Columbia, and have been craving pizza. But had no idea where to go. I got really spoiled by a mom and pop pizza place in the last city I lived, so I didn't think I'd find anything as enjoyable here...especially since Columbia isn't where it used to be in terms of food and restaurant quality. Then, I remembered I used to really like Marco's, so I hopped on Yelp to see which was the best location. This one seemed to have the better reviews, so I placed an order online for their Large Pepperoni Magnifico Pizza & Cheezybread for $17.99. Arrived shortly after placing the order. Guy who rung me up was polite, and I don't think I even waited more than a couple minutes for my order (for reference, I placed my order at about 12:30 p.m. on a Saturday afternoon). Cheezybread was better than I expected, and the pizza was just as good as I remember. I've always felt like Marco's never gets its due, which is a shame because they make a better pizza than most of the more popular chains. Anyway, I've got a winner and will definitely be back. No. No no no. Uh uh. Nope. We travelled through Aiken and were hankering for some pizza, and we followed the good reviews to this place. It was during Covid, and we had them deliver. We ordered wings, pizza, and salad. We had to check everything carefully because when it arrived it was all so wonky that we thought we'd gotten somebody else's order. The salad: We were aiming for the chopped Italian salad. I'm not quite sure what it was that we got, but there was more cheese on it than the pizza. I had to dig halfway down in it to even find any lettuce. The baked wings: Well they just weren't. Wings, I mean. Or baked, for that matter. These were salted, breaded chicken nuggets. The single star in this review is because my dogs liked them. The pizza: Cold. Cold pizza. So we popped it in the oven. But even when it came out, it was like one of those prefabricated pizzas that you get out of the freezer at the supermarket. We had a bite or 2 because we were hungry. And then we just left it- i'm such a good doggy daddy I didn't even give it to them. They deserve better. Maybe some nights these guys make ok pizza. Not this night. read more

I went into Marcos after the app let me know my order was ready for pick-up. However, when I went in I was told that the pizza was not ready yet. On top of that, there were several other customers seemingly waiting for their orders. After about 10 minutes, the gentleman standing beside me was told his order was never made. Another customer came in after saying she had been waiting an hour. The employees were gathered around in a circle laughing and making jokes as customers sat frustrated. Eventually, I decided to go back to the counter to cancel my order as well. Although I was eventually given my pizza, I have decided not to patronize this location again. Simple order of Caesar salad and buffalo wings. Order arrived in the time expected, and was correctly delivered. And that's the end of the good news. I've never had such soggy buffalo wings... couldn't get past two of them, with all the floppy skin. Blech! On to the Caesar salad with chicken... how can anyone mess that up? Easy, as it turns out. Use factory-made chicken, with that weird texture and overly salty taste. How hard is it to cook your own chicken, Marco? Packaged dressing, iceberg lettuce and too much shaved parm. This is my go to spot for excellent pizza!!! An XL extra cheese pizza with garlic butter crust is a guilty pleasure!!! Pizza is always ready and accurate when I call for a pick up order. The night staff is always friendly but Tess is greatly missed since she left for college. She stood out from the crowd and I miss our brief but friendly conversations. The parking situation can be a bit frustrating on the weekend evenings as they're in a little strip with another restaurant and a Bar/Lounge (just head to the back parking areas if swinging by on a weekend evening). read more
