I go to the Marc's on Midway Blvd in Elyria often. Every time I go there I find rows of product past their use by date, I'm not talking about a item here and there, I'm talking about a whole row of items. I have complained to the store manager, to the corporate offices, yet it continues. I only go there because they accept my insurance flex card. No more, I will go to Walmart from now on. It's out of my way but atheist I don't find moldy cheese, and rows of product past their use by date. I have filed a complaint also with the BETER BUSINESS BUREAU. Strange experience overall but was able to find some snacks, Diet Coke, and check out pretty quickly. I'm from Chicago, but I travel all over the US for work. I'm staying across the abandoned mall at a hotel and was hungry. First time in a Marc's. I thought it was a grocery store but it's oddly packed with some of everything -but also lacking a lot of the usual grocery store departments. Like, I took a few laps and couldn't locate the bakery. And there were shelves bursting with pickles, mayonnaise, and ketchup, but oddly very little ice cream options. I tried to find sliced meats and cheeses to make a sandwich, and I did eventually find a cooler, but it was in the same place with a bunch of odd stuff like gardening suppplies and grill charcoal. The store is old, worn, not clean. When I stepped in there was stuff on the floor, dead plants. So strange. I bought a couple of things, but I don't think I'll return. I wish there were other grocery options, but Elyria seems quite limited in that regard. read more

Never been here before... and probably won't go back... small store... like a down graded giant eagle.... prices are not necessarily in my price range and their weird paying options is weird.... but their bags (78 cents) are adorable and cute.... I'll take 1000000 bags please but keep their food idioms (yup I said it) on the shelf.... no wonder my husband (who used to work for Marc's years ago) doesn't want me to go there. read more

Marc's Stores - a vending machine in a store - Grocery Near Me - Elyria, Ohio

I think Marc's needs to delete old reviews [ie: 2013 where a customer speaks about the old way of payment for orders.] They accept VISA & MASTERCARD now and have for some time now. My husband will not shop for groceries anyplace else unless there is a great sale on meat [if we need it at that time] or other items. Their vegetables are nice and the deli is great. Prices are just a bit cheaper than Giant Eagle but these days grocery shopping is expensive every where. Marc's on Griswold in Elyria is close to home, Giant Eagle drug store and used to be close to our bank [our bank closed on River] which meant we could make a sweep from Furnace Street to Griswold, to Midway Giant Eagle drive through to bank on River and back home in no time at all. Since retirement and being almost 80 years old, it makes life much easier. ONE SUGGESTION FOR MARC'S MANAGEMENT: please provide more electric wheel chairs. There are more and more handicapped seniors coming out to shop these days, just to get out of the house for a bit. Would be great PR. read more

I am at Marc's every week. I am not too proud to admit it, I've reached that age where sensible pricing on produce and dairy goods is attractive to me. This week my Marc's of choice was the Elyria location. Usually nothing about a Marc's is unique, you could be dropped off at any Marc's anywhere and they all look the same. The kudos I wanted to give on this particular visit was the extra help of the lady who rang me out. I didn't have time to wait in the customer service desk long line for anti-acids that are for some reason kept behind the giant counter and she actually went and got them from the super secret lock box they're hidden away from the public in for me. was appalled to see a young girl bagging groceries with her slacks below her hips exposing her underwear. I mentioned this to a clerk working the front service desk, who blew off my complaint. As this is a place where people buy food I found this unacceptable. read more

This place is awesome! They always have killer deals all around the place. The only thing that sucks is that black ops, ex Navy seal 80 yr old granny accusing people of stealing when they walk out with a buggy full of groceries that were clearly paid for. It's a decent grocery store. Not the biggest so the selection is a bit limited, but it has most of the major brands for some decent prices. My main problem was that they only accept Discover card and checks. I didn't know that and do not have a Discover card, but luckily i had my check book out in the car because otherwise i wouldn't have been able to pay for my stuff. Just went to Marc's in Elyria by midway mall because they have 24 packs of Pepsi on sale. My husband and I both had 10 in our cart because there was no sign stating there was a limit. We went thru the line and the cashier said oh no problem. (if there was a limit. Because as I stated there was. NO SIGN... and if we were told there was a limit we would have put some back.)I can ring you up together. Upon leaving the store we realized after the initial 6 we were charged 7.99 each. My husband explained everything to the manager. We're constantly in the store. We have a food truck and we probably spend 1,000$ a month in there. The manager had a smart mouth and told my husband to bad. It's I. The circular. It doesn't have to be on the sign. My husband said well can't you honor it anyways. He said. Nope. Because I don't have to. Here's a number for the customer service. Call Monday. Wow. I've never been treated so poorly in my life. And we will never spend another penny in Marc's. read more

Closeouts and meat departments are pretty good, but regular grocery is lacking variety and prices aren't terribly competitive. Its a small store of a small chain so I guess you can't expect it to compete with big-name national chains in terms of stock, but I wish they put more effort into bringing in new flavors and varieties instead of sticking to the same old selection. read more

went into marcs just to check it out and I realized that they had amazing produce that was fresh and riped. I always bought my fruit from Walmart but now I get them from marcs. I LOVE MARCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more
