So I'm altering my review...Good evening. I ordered dinner this evening--two of the street taco dinners (one shrimp/carnitas and one shrimp/carne asada). All 4 tacos were ordered on corn tortillas, but the shrimp came on flour; the carnitas were extremely dry; and both meals were cold, even though I arrived when I was told dinner would be ready to be picked up. We have ordered from Mojave before, and enjoyed it thoroughly! This time definitely not so much. In fact, the only really good thing about dinner tonight were the margaritas...I have to say, I have never paid so much for a dinner I enjoyed so little. Shady business practice!!! We were "regulars" at this restaurant, visiting at least once a month, but after today we will not be coming back. They included the 18% tip in the final bill without notifying me, and then provided the credit card receipt, which has a gratuity section. Naturally I left 15% tip, making the tip left over 40%(I left tip on the amount including the already charged tip). I did not noticed this right then, and I will not be going back. In addition, portions are becoming smaller and service is definitely not worth a 40% tip. read more

I love eating at Mojave's and go here pretty frequently with friends and family. The food is always delicious and never disappoints. If you can get seated in Manuel's section I highly recommend it! He is always on top of it and is excellent at remembering and recommending a delicious meal or drink to get. When I go I usually just tell Manuel to surprise me with a delicious drink and i'm never disappointed! The wait staff is usually always really great. The restaurant is pretty and the booths are very private. Those are the only parts of this restaurant that I enjoy. I've been here three times and don't plan to go back. The food is just MEH. It's expensive but also low quality. Most of the meals are very oily. The queso is thick and grainy, not good. They have a menu for cocktails that doesn't have a price on it. We ordered a margarita that ended up being 15 dollars. Began going when it was new. Loved it. Downhill in the last year or so. Service is terrible. Yesterday three people in our party of six had to leave early. Pushed their dishes to the end of the table to be picked up. Nobody ever addressed the dishes or bothered to clear the table while the rest of the party sat there among the clutter. As a Vegan, asked to leave off the sour cream and cheese from a salad and asked if it could be replaced with extra avocado. They charged extra for the avocado but didn't discount or swap for the removal of the other two items. The refried beans were runny and the food quality along with the service has deteriorated. I don't write negative reviews as a rule, but this is just one visit in a long line lately of really poor quality and poor customer service from someone who really used to and would like to continue to like this restaurant. And yes, I too have been victim of taking FOREVER to get us the check. So much so that I've had to go looking for the server. read more

Prices have ballooned and finally reached "overpriced." $15+ dollars for a few tiny tacos is absurd. Enchiladas Blancas--enchiladas with a "creamy white cheese sauce" tasted acrid and of alcohol. After returning the plate, I was told the sauce was made with wine, despite not being listed anywhere in the description, and even at that--it probably shouldn't taste like burnt paint thinner. They couldn't even make an "Arnold Palmer" and instead brought some strange mango lemonade. While we've been here a few times, things have definitely gone off the rails. read more

Total fail. This restaurant was good when it first opened but since then it has gone downhill sharply. I went there yesterday April 1st 2018 I ordered a $19 plate the fajita trio. Total waste of money, they gave me a heaping mound of brown sauteed onions no bell peppers or any other vegetables and very small bits of either steak chicken or shrimp but mostly chicken all of it was overcooked and I got maybe three pieces of shrimp. As I said most of it was onions and of the meat the most of the meat that I got was chicken. I really wish I had the forethought to take a picture of it before I started eating because the more I ate the more I realized not only did have a burned flavor to it but I was eating a heap of garbage. $19 for that what a rip off. I will never come back! That was their last chance. I'm done wasting money at this shithole restaurant!!! read more

Mojave Grill & Cantina in Gresham, OR was a disappointment. The salsa was more like tomato sauce with onion and peppers cut up into it. The rice was ok. The beans were bland. I ordered a chile relleno, but got a pablano that was wrapped in a corn tortilla and covered in sauce and cheese. Very american "mexican food" Another side note: the hostess was wearing what looked like lingerie and I am not exaggerating. Her whole outfit. the "dress" was barely long enough to cover up her naughty bits and very lacey kinda see through and she had a matching robe over it. Very unprofessional. read more

If you want to pay for a $16 bowl of soup... My husband and I have tried this restaurant a few times, each time the owners would "get it". It's Gresham. Their food is okay but it's hard to screw up Mexican food. The pricing is RIDICULOUS! We about fell out of our chair as we reviewed the menu and thought the owners are out of their ever-lovin' minds! $16 for a bowl of soup. No, really! No pricing on their wine list...really? Don't you want people to have an idea of what their paying? They have had this practice since they open and won't change. There was a table of guests next to us that told us they were horrified at the prices. They had 4 children and the two parents on a ticket. They said they couldn't afford to come back. I just will not. I can afford it but I do not like being gouged and I would certainly like to know what they charge for a beer or glass of wine before I order. When you ask the waitress how much the glass of wine is, she says, "it's about $7 a glass. I say no, I want to know exactly, please go find out. Comes back to the table and it's $10! That's a normal practice there as well...sort of guess at the price and then pour you the most expensive! We are glad their wait staff doesn't dress like street walkers anymore. read more
