Chorizo burrito
Cassy B.

Stopped by yesterday to grab some food to go and I was not disappointed! Found parking right in front, it can get a little hectic since it's right off the Main Street. The workers were super nice and took our order right away, which was ready in 10 minutes! Super quick. They also have a small dining area inside but it's definitely more of a take out spot. I ordered the tinga chicken tacos and they were delicious. Double tortillas - super filled with chicken in a chipotle sauce. All topped with fresh onions and cilantro. Yummm. My boyfriend customized a chorizo burrito, which they were super nice about. It was jam packed with chorizo, rice and beans and came with a nice amount of salsas. Definitely try their green tomatillo sauce - it's fantastic. We also got chicken nachos and they were great. Absolutely every topping you can think of - pico de gallo, guacomale, sour cream, onions and cilantro, beans, cheese and of course some delicious grilled chicken! I hope this place does well, they definitely have quality ingredients and a large menu to choose from. Give them a shot!

A hidden gem for authentic Mexican food in NJ!…read more I recently visited The Mariachi Grill and was blown away by the flavors and portions. I tried the birria tacos, fresh guacamole with chips, avocado salad, mixed seafood in red sauce, churrasco, chicken flautas, and chicken enchiladas -- all served with rice and beans. Everything tasted homemade, especially the salsas, which added that perfect kick. The patio is lovely, great for dining outdoors, and it's BYOB, which is a huge plus! If you're looking for authentic Mexican food with great service and a chill vibe in Lyndhurst, this place is a must.

They are renowned for their vibrant flavors, bold spices, and diverse dishes catering to all tastes using ingredients such as tomatoes, onions, garlic, and cilantro. Authentic Mexican food is more than tacos and salsa. The Garden State is hailed as one of the most diverse states when it comes to food, hosting some of the best Mexican restaurants on the East Coast. Whether one desires a quick taco or a full-course meal, my friends and I were craving rich and bold tastes from Mexico and decided on this family-owned establishment for an early Cinco de Mayo dinner. The reservation was easily made by calling Mariachi Grill, located on Ridge Road in Lyndhurst. Upon arrival at this popular spot to locals, with its cozy and casual interior decked out in traditional Mexican vibes, we were greeted by the staff and immediately got a table by the entrance, but they also have outdoor dining, weather permitting. The menu selection is much smaller than at other restaurants. We decided on the Cheese Enchiladas, Beef Enchiladas, California Burrito, Beef Burrito, Chicken Fries with Fries, and Shrimp Fajitas. Some meals are accompanied with a small portion of rice and black beans. Complimentary house chips and salsa started our meal. As the restaurant is working on their liquor license, it's BYOB. One can bring your own tequila or wine, and the staff will mix it with their sangria or margarita mixes. We washed our meal down with a pitcher of sangria. The presentation was very good. The food was made incredibly fresh, well seasoned, deliciously tasty, and generous. The price was very reasonable for the area. Our server Lisa with her outgoing personality and her desire to make our visit enjoyable, which we didn't feel rushed. Good experience overall, which we can recommend.

The guacamole didn't taste fresh at all and the chicken in the flautas had no flavor. For dinner, I had the enchiladas suizas. The chicken was the same chicken used in the flautas aka flavorless and the tomatillo "salsa" did not taste like salsa at all. It actually tasted more like the "avocado mousse" that the flautas were drenched in. My husband had the carnitas michoacan and he said they were just okay/super greasy/wouldn't get them again. Both our meals were supposed to come with rice and beans, but they only bought one side for us to share. When I looked around the restaurant, it seemed like they only bring one side per table regardless of party size. This to me is a rip off especially since this place is pricey. My 2 year old was also with us and we got him chicken fingers and fries from their very limited kids options. When I asked if he can have rice and beans instead of fries, they said no. You're a Mexican restaurant - maybe put a taco option with rice and beans on the kids menu. For dessert, we got tres leches- it was fine. The only other things ordered were a cocktail and a beer. We waited SOOOO long to get the bill and even longer for someone to come back to take our payment. With tip included- our total was about $180. That is very steep for the quality and quantity of food. Sadly, I don't think we will return.

The service is also pretty solid. I love the roof top in the summer! The first floor gets packed at night so be prepared to stand if you don't Have a Table. You have to pay for your parking which isn't an issue cheap and clean parking lot. We made a reservation on the phone for 9pm. As we walked in we were greeted by a very nice young lady. Looking around they have 3 floors, the first is a bar/lounge. The 2nd is where restrooms are and the 3rd is the rooftop! It was a beautiful night so we were in the rooftop, they had a dj ( he was playing all the latest and greatest music) we were quickly seated and asked about drinks and appetizers. So folks there was 2 hiccups during our Visit BUT I will say this ( the STAFF and Manager exceeded our expectations while dealing with one of the issues. So the first issue was I explained to the waiter I'm a Diabetic and I am Allergic to Seafood. I said " please Diet Coke and sparkling water" so I can drink it with my whiskey . The wife had several different tequilas . We waited for our appetizers, within 10 minutes my fish tacos came out I looked at the food and asked my " is this fish???" She said "yes" so I ate 1 it looked like a chicken strip but the 2 nd one was 2 piece and I asked my wife are you sure she said " yes" I took a bite and ate half of it. I looked down and seen something orange I broke open the food and I said " this is shrimp !!?!?!" I then called the waiter called the manager and sent my wife across the street to Walgreens for Benadryl. Folks I afraid for my life!!! It was my wife's birthday and here we are about to run to the hospital ‍! But the manager and waiter were excellent!!! Kept checking on me making sure I was ok and thankfully I was!!! Next we started eating our appetizers and it started raining so we waited around by the bar had some more drinks. They came to us and told us we can go downstairs to eat and enjoy the evening and we did!!!! The DJ started doing his thing and we started really enjoying ourselves! Folks I recommended this place without a doubt!!!! They are considerate, empathetic, understanding and best of all Concerned" about their customers health and wellbeing! Then to top it off they gave us a 50% discount!!!!!!!! We were so happy about this I left the waiter a $63 tip'!!!!

Steak Nachos 8.3/10 - The first thing you see when opening these nachos are a healthy serving of steak, avocado slices, and cheese. No beans to be see though, untillll you get to the bottom. Combining all the ingredients together on one chip made for the perfect bite. So so so savory. I only wish a different queso was used instead of nacho cheese to really elevate this dish. But it was still really good even with it. Al pastor tacos 7.5/10 - Okay I gotta be honest here, the pineapple CARRIED these tacos. The meat was decent in flavor but a little too dry for my liking. I was also caught off guard by the flour tortillas, which lowkey added to the dryness. With that being said, the pineapple was on point with how much it was cooked and the juiciness it provided. Paired with the radishes and green sauce these tacos went from being kinda average to pretty damn alright. Man I wish more places did pineapple as good as this place. Jamaica 8.2/10 - I normally don't order this drink because of how strong a floral taste it usually has. But for some reason I felt like taking a chance and ordering it today. I'm glad I did because I finally found a place that isn't ode with that gawd damn flower taste. The drink just the right amount of sweet with a tiny touch of sourness as well, and the floral taste came in towards the end but still wasn't as strong as I worried it'd be. Green Sauce 6.7/10 - This sauce in terms of flavor is pretty standard as they come, minus any signs of spiciness. I would also like to point out that there was basically no chunkiness to the sauce at any point. It was very watery which kinda affected how much I enjoyed it on my food. It still brought in a good flavor to the tacos and nachos. Red Sauce 7.4/10 - I'm not gonna lie chat, this sauce was spicier than i wanted to admit. I regretfully took a sip straight from the cup and had to take a minute to reevaluate the decisions that led up to this point. Even though there was a decent flavor, it was overtaken instantly but scorching fire and all signs of life were destroyed. Sinuses were clear though Overall 8/10 - I had a good experience coming to Taqueria Dos Perla's, the atmosphere was nice, the people were nicer, and the food was filling. I see a strong potential in the nachos being even better with one single ingredient change, and if they used corn tortillas for the tacos instead and cooked the meat for slightly less time and more marination, these plates can become as good as they were destined to be.
