I want to like this place, but I've been here twice now and it just misses the mark and is so far from being authentic. For starters, we had guacamole and chicken flautas. The guacamole didn't taste fresh at all and the chicken in the flautas had no flavor. For dinner, I had the enchiladas suizas. The chicken was the same chicken used in the flautas aka flavorless and the tomatillo "salsa" did not taste like salsa at all. It actually tasted more like the "avocado mousse" that the flautas were drenched in. My husband had the carnitas michoacan and he said they were just okay/super greasy/wouldn't get them again. Both our meals were supposed to come with rice and beans, but they only bought one side for us to share. When I looked around the restaurant, it seemed like they only bring one side per table regardless of party size. This to me is a rip off especially since this place is pricey. My 2 year old was also with us and we got him chicken fingers and fries from their very limited kids options. When I asked if he can have rice and beans instead of fries, they said no. You're a Mexican restaurant - maybe put a taco option with rice and beans on the kids menu. For dessert, we got tres leches- it was fine. The only other things ordered were a cocktail and a beer. We waited SOOOO long to get the bill and even longer for someone to come back to take our payment. With tip included- our total was about $180. Everything tasted great and fresh. I loved the tuna taco and the chicken taco I loved the queso app. Guac app was excellent but small. The cocktails were done right. Service was great and very attentive. The only downfall is that I do believe it's a little pricey for the portion size. However, I feel like the quality makes up for it. We dropped by here for lunch today. Super cute restaurant located in the Styertowne shopping center complex. We were a bit chaotic, my son broke a plate as soon as we sat down, but the server was nice he cleaned it up and didn't make a fuss. And then my son spilled his water. It was not our day! But we were super excited to try the food. My husband ordered the tacos de carne asada and I had the Cesar salad with chicken. Both were really good. The Cesar salad was unique, it was 3 full pieces of romaine lettuce, I believe they were charred and the croutons were soft and delicious. The chicken and dressing were really good too. My husband thought the tacos were just okay. I think I'll come back and try more! I feel like the food took a while to get there, it seemed like other people that came after got their food first. The food was good & nice plate presentation. My issue is cost. This is a Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. $14 maragarita. $15/Cab Sauvignon glass [the bottle is worth $20 at total wine]. Flautas appetizer was $14 and they were tasty and pretty but literally two tortillas cut in half (menu called mini tortilla). Club soda was $4. This place was nice and food passable but not worth that NYC prices they charged. I personally won't be back. Fantastic experience for Friday happy hour. My friend and I arrived at 4:30 and were asked if we wanted to take advantage of HH at the bar or one of their two high tops. We enjoyed the $9 margaritas - mango, guava and passion fruit were all absolutely delicious, my favorite being the mango. We ordered small plates to share off of both the HH & regular menu, everything was fresh and tasty. Our server was very attentive and offered great suggestions. The first time we came we tried the Al Pastor Guac, this most recent time we tried the Atun. Both in my opinion could've used a little more meat portion but nevertheless still very flavorful. Moving onto drinks, we always make it a point to try as many different ones as possible to have the best experience. While their drinks are not customizable (meaning if you want mezcal and it's offered with blanco tequila they won't do it), but they were still showy and some had a fire effect which was cool. I visited Bitol recently with a small group to celebrate a special occasion. I made a reservation online for 12 pm on a Sunday, upon our arrival, we were the only group there up until we left. The restaurant does offer a brunch menu, which can be found on their website. We started off with drinks, and I opted for a mimosa flight. The flight tray that arrived at the table was so pretty and I loved the drinks, but I cannot recommend the guava mimosa more. It was probably THE best mimosa I've had and if you've ever looked at my reviews, you know I'm a mimosa queen. The mimosas came topped with cotton candy that can be eaten, discarded, or dissolved in the drinks to add to the sweetness, but I opted to give mine away to someone in my group. Sadly, there's not a ton of vegetarian options available, but I was able to order veggies, rice, and beans, all of which were delicious. I also recommend trying their house hot sauce, which was perfect for providing the heat I needed for my food. Our crab tostadas were ok, I didn't love that it left a raw onion taste behind. We both got birria tacos and they were ok, I was expecting more flavor. I had to ask for hot sauce and that added more flavor. The tres leches was very disappointing, it was actually the worst I've ever tasted and my partner wasn't a fan either. House guac, not made in front of you, comes out super quick. so my guess is its premade ahead of time in big batches. it was pretty bland, wish it had more salt or garlic even. really simple otherwise. we asked for extra chips and got a charge for this. the housemade salsas are good, id throw them on anything. elote were 3 small pieces, they werent bad, but needed more spice. it was mostly cheese. my chicken 3 tacos were incredibly dry and bland. to say i wasnt happy is an understatement. my friend didnt care for his birria tacos either - i believe he said they were also bland. i got a fruity margarita, i think if my memory serves me correctly it was a passionfruit? tasty, but weak. they have an extensive tequila menu, which i think should be a selling point for this place for sure. read more

The first time I came was for the drinks so we just sat at the bar and ordered chips and guac. It was really good so we came back months later to try their actual food. The steak on the stone was cool because you got to cook it exactly to your liking. The plantains were good. I wasn't a huge fan of the green salsa, as it was bland. I would have just stuck to the original. For the dessert we tried the churros, dulce de leches and the brownie and ice cream. The brownie is a very very small portion but it is also rich and decadant. I would probably recommend putting it on a smaller plate presentation wise. I came because I wanted the flaming skull drink (which is AMAZING). We had a FABULOUS server who went out of his way to create a friendly and fabulous cocktail experience. Needless to say we went from having just one round of drinks, to ordering two rounds and appetizers. The starter plates are tapas sized, so make sure to adjust your expectation. With that said, they are HIGH QUALITY, homemade, fresh and delicious. We ordered the queso with chorizo and it was AMAZING. It came with soft warm tortillas and we asked for chips - WRONG. Stick to the tortillas, they were the made for this thick cheese stuffing to warm your soul. We also had the flautas, which were perfection. Our friends ordered a variety of drinks and each one of them was better than the next. It was my birthday and I wanted to be flashy so I ordered two flaming skulls which tasted like a spiked horchata almost. I brought my fiancé here for Valentine's Day and it was a VIBE. We both got steaks that were cooked to perfection, but the star of the show was the dessert. The churros I got were some of the best I've ever had in my life, and they came with three dipping sauces. Randomly dropped in because I was getting kinda hangry and was SO HAPPY to find this place. We sat outside and were taken care of by a really sweet server, you can tell she loves working there. As for the meal--oh my goodness, everything was incredible. Seriously, whoever curated the menu really took their time and perfected every detail. We had the Al pastor guacamole to start with chunks of pork and bacon and it was perfection, probably the best guac I've ever had. I like guac a certain way, it needs to be BRIGHT. Sometimes a lot of places will skimp on the lime/cilantro but this was excellent. The chunks of pork on-top balanced out the citrusy tang and it was heavenly--also, perfectly portioned. Their specialty cocktails are also very beautiful, I ordered a Jasmine tini and it tasted like gently kissing in a flower bed. For our entrees we had fish tacos and steak tacos (3 each) and we shared. Hands down best fish tacos I've ever had, JUICY crispy fish with chipotle mayo and a side of green salsa to pour ontop. The steak was also very delicious and at one point I took a bite and the steak squirted all over from how perfectly cooked it was. I wanted to end on a high note so I ordered the corn crème brûlée and it was divine, not too sweet, with a crunchy sugar top and a wonderful sweet corn flavor. Came here for brunch on Mother's Day. Is the outside of the restaurant breathtakingly beautiful? No, it's in a shopping plaza (as are most restaurants in the Jerz). But thankfully you don't even consider eating outside the restaurant unless it's one of the seven calendar days each year when it's neither too hot nor too cold to eat outside. The setting and decor were nice, and the food was very good - would particularly recommend the French toast marinated in coconut milk and the "pancake tacos" (which I've never seen before but seem so obvious in retrospect). The chilaquiles were also very good. The service was friendly and efficient, and--again--the food was very good. Was it affirmstively cheap? No. But it's not really marketed as a cheap eats place and I didn't think it was unreasonable for the quality of the food.
