I'm not sure why this is called Margo Sterling Silver; sterling silver appears to be just a minuscule part of the business in the store. Overall, based on what I saw in the store, this is a metaphysical business. I saw great looking handmade jewelry, knick knacks for the home, incense, tantra-related items, stones and other merchandise. A couple of the things that caught my eye because I have an interest in them are the crystals and sage. Margo has a big selection of stones and crystals. People burn sage (in a ritual called smudging) to clear away negativity. I've smudged my place a few times with a bundle of burning white sage, and I know it helped because I felt a calmness and contentment after I got done. Margo sells various types of sage that customers can smudge their spaces and their selves to eliminate negativity and increase positivity. I have also interest in crystals, of which Margo has a big selection. The two types of crystals that I have are black obsidian and clear quartz crystals, both of which have protective properties. One of clear quartz's benefits is enhancing mental clarity. It can help with emotional stability, and it's popular in meditation and restorative work. It's also often used for manifestation and can help create more focus and clarity around a desire. It is a protective stone and can be used to amplify psychic abilities. I have white quartz crystals near my front door to dispel any negative energies entering my home, and on my nightstand to amplify the effect of the black obsidian crystal that I keep near it. One of the most popular uses of black obsidian is to create a shield of protection to ward off negative or harmful energies. I wear a black obsidian bracelet to help absorb negativity that I may encounter. I also have black obsidian crystals in the four corners of my condo to help ward off negative and harmful energies. Does it work? I know they do. I like that throughout the store are handwritten descriptions and explanations either on or near the crystals. These are great for customers who are interested in incorporating crystals into their lives. However, customers who buy them should also learn how to use the crystals (the best placement for them, how to energize them, how to cleanse them, etc.) after they're purchased to learn how to put them to best use for themselves. One thing that I'd like to point out when I was in the store was that there were way too many strong scents concentrated in one specific area on the left side of the store. I took a couple of regular breaths in and the scents hit me hard. Think of the strong and multiple scents affecting your nose as being similar to strong and multiple noises affecting your ears. When I smelled the odors together I got dizzy, realized that scents were affecting me and immediately walked to the other side of the store. I was fine after breathing in non-scented air. I didn't get a good look at the object(s) that caused my dizziness. It would've been good to know so that I could avoid a similar situation in the future. read more

Cute little jewelry shop in downtown Athens. They sell handmade jewelry and trinkets. From stones and crystals to sterling silver, there's a little of everything to tickle your fancy. I absolutely adored the chess sets they had in the front, especially the miniature marble set. There was a sign on the door for Sugar Glider adoption, and the lady at the counter was showing off some baby sugar gliders. They were adorable! Ask to take a look at them if she's in. So I had been to this place before I thought they had really cool merchandise. I spent a lot of money there. I went in the store yesterday and someone tattled that I wasn't wearing a mask to the busy store clerk. She said excuse me you have to wear a mask I said no I don't! I'm exempt! I then proceeded to show her my religious exemption card which I did not need to do. She didn't even look at it. If you're not wearing a mask you have to leave the store she said. I said you're discriminating against me a paying customer who wants to buy this piece of jewelry? If you won't wear a mask you have to leave, she said. Nobody has the authority to regulate human breathing! No store policy can violate my God-given rights! Nor can it violate the law. They will be hearing from my lawyer. I am fed up with this mask nonsense! read more

Best crystal store we've been to yet, best selection of stones, and the owner was very knowledgeable and intuitive!

I loved this little shop! Full of many different types of crystals and neat things to see and learn about!

This is the closest crystal shop to where I live. Every time I go into the store, the owner gives negative energy vibes and is very rude. I asked a question and was straight up ignored. When my friend asked a question about an item, she told her that she had too much to do to answer any questions because she isn't there. Just plain out rude. The last time I was there, I was going to purchase a selenite stick. The price tag had $12. She said this isn't $12, it's $16. And told the other employee to change it. I told her that if it was $16, I didn't want it. The mask issue has been lifted in the state of Georgia. But she required us to wear a mask. She said a mask will be required until everyone is vaccinated. I'm choosing to not be vaccinated because I don't trust a vaccine that has been created in less than a year. So I guess I won't be going back because I'm going to be forced to be vaccinated. read more

I'm sad I can't give a negative star review. A store employee verbally attacked my 16 yr old daughter today (Sunday) for wearing a Dukes of Hazard T-shirt. She and two of her girl friends had gone into the store to browse the crystal selection, from across the room an employee started to yell at her about her shirt. The T-shirt has a 01 on the front and a picture of the General Lee on the back (which yes, has a rebel flag on it). This employee yelled at her asking "do you know what that means?" My Daughter respectfully replied "yes ma'am" Repeating her question 5 more times each time the same response "yes ma'am". There was enough drama over an 80's T-shirt that the girls left. We will not be back. BTW, I support small business. Margo and her employees should try a little etiquette. Please leave the politics at the door. And yes, they wore mask. These girls were so excited to have a nice shopping experience. read more

They sell these cute hand carved stone skulls that I would absolutely love to put on display in my home. I can't wait to return, everyone was friendly and I would gladly spend money here. Walked up to the register to purchase some stones right as some people walked in to see her sugar gliders she also sells out of the shop. Instead of quickly ringing up my 3 rocks, she walked away from the register to the back to get the animals. She spent about 5 minutes explaining what they were, what they eat, their sleeping habits, etc. to these people because she was more interested in the $300 she could make off the sugar gliders than the $15 I was going to spend. Ended up walking out empty handed. read more
