This company is amazing! I needed to restrand my Gran's pearls that she had for probably 60+ years before she gifted them to me. Re-stranding is expensive and I was willing to pay the price but what I wasn't a fan of was the customer service and how it seemed like they were just another set of pearls. Boo. Luckily, I did a quick search and found The Pearl Girls! I am so happy I found them. Yes, I was reluctant because they are based in GA and I was in PA at the time. Did I really want to entrust my Gran's pearls to people I've never met AND were in a different state? I read the reviews on their website and decided to give them a try. First things first, the customer service is AMAZING. I incorrectly ordered two boxes for shipping my pearls to them for them to repair. I received a phone call to verify that I did in fact need two boxes. We discussed how big the necklaces I was sending were and was advised I really only needed one box. She asked me if it would be ok if they just took the amount I overpaid for the box and deducted it from the total repair cost. I really appreciated the time that was taken to ask me about this. That alone made me feel more confident with my choice. They were in constant communication with me and when they shipped them back, I was beyond happy with the quality of the work they did. I'm so sorry I do not remember the woman's name that I spoke with about the box situation but everyone I spoke with or had email communication with was lovely and very easy to understand. The pricing made me very happy. It was considerably cheaper than what other big named companies were charging but the care wasn't there from them like it was with The Pearl Girls. I love the fact that this company is heavily invested in pearls and understand the significance of them. I love the fact that they are always exploring and designing. I would happily recommend this company 100 times over big named companies. I found my one long strand to have pulled and broke all but one thread holding it together. Looked on line and knowing most jeweled ship items for repair rather than doing it in house I thought let's cut out the middleman. Put in order on line and got my shipping box in a few days. Had to count pearls which I did several times. 183 in all, I said it was a long strand. Well I estimated the length at half just figuring how long it hung down. I received a call in a few days to let me know I had pearl count correct but length was twice what I had put down. So after I OKd the price to restring they got to work. Less than a week later the pearls were back and beautifully restrung. First class treatment all the way around. They also sell pearls here and will redesign and outdated piece. Like most things of value that I own, I broke my pearl necklace. I'm not that much of an adult that I'd actually find a jeweler, drive to said jeweler and have them repaired. But since they were a college graduation gift from my mother, I wanted to make an effort. I found Pearl Girls via Google and thought: "you want me mail my pearls across the country?" That's a lot of trust! But the alternative was actually driving somewhere, dropping them off and picking them up- Yeah, no. So with "0" minutes spent researching their company, I sent them an online request form. Two days later I received an empty box with a gauzy bag for the pearls. Six months later (no seriously) I packed them up and dropped them in the mail. I received a sweet email stating my pearls had been received and that some nice stranger was currently re-stringing them. The shop staff is friendly and attentive. Designer Abby drilled my Tahitian pearls I bought at the pearl farm and made me these custom "Don't Cry For Me" style earrings. She also re-worked some white pearls into simple, short drop earrings. And, they replaced a lost pearl in a sentimental costume jewelry gold-filled pin. We had a small miss-communication on one additional job (duh, they can't read my mind) and the staff promptly replied about correcting the problem. When it is hard to find trustworthy businesses out there, it is such a relief to find a company like The Pearl Girls, that has completely restored my faith in humanity. My wife's favorite pearl ring had the pearl fall off, luckily she was able to find it. We went to several big name jewelry stores to see if they could fix it, and grew very disappointed when they all replied they would have to ship it off to have it fixed, and then quoted the outrageous prices. It would have cost us less to just buy a new ring, but this was a special ring to my wife since it had priceless sentimental value.
