She advertised EMDR, yet had no clue how to use the EMDR device in her office. But way, way more unsettling: 2. I made an appointment with her because I was traumatized by a situation that my child had endured at the hands of a relative. Instead of providing therapy for me and helping me with the devastation I felt as a mother, she used the ENTIRE session filling out a CPS report which protected her own liability as a therapist. When I expressed in that session that I was upset she was using the hour I paid for that I desperately needed therapy for myself for her own agenda, and that I had already filed a police report as well as a CPS report, she gave me a dirty look, shrugged it off, and flippantly told me to make another appointment then. I found her to be cruel, selfish, and unsympathetic and never went back. For the record, I checked with another therapist who confirmed that that is completely inappropriate and unprofessional and the standard of care is to fill out that type of report after a client session is over. Especially when the client is coming to you in an emergency. My opinion is to stay away if you are looking for a qualified therapist. read more

I want to first say that not every therapist is a good fit for everyone. Just like dating, some people fits with you, and others may not. And that is not the fault of the therapist. It's up to us individually to determine what it is that we need. I found Dr Kopley through my insurance and worked with her for several months. She does do EMDR, which is very helpful. But after a few months, I felt that she was a little too direct for me, so I switched to a different therapist. I also felt like she didn't really like me or my personality so it wasn't a good fit both ways. I wanna be as fair as possible and say she is very ethical when dealing with her clients which is great. However, my experience was that she does have a very strong personality, she definitely asserts power. initially I thought that would've been good for me, but overtime I realize I needed someone softer. once again, no fault of the therapist, just difference in each persons needs. One of the things that actually bothered me a lot was that she was always late, and often by 10 minutes. I understand that sometimes it might be the clients fault but time management is very important. Sometimes we have to try several different ones to find one that fits, and that's totally OK. read more

Oh my goodness. Where do I start on a review for this wonderful person and psychologist? Margot has been my psychologist, life coach, and the best friend anyone could ever have. Margot is very passionate about her life and her career. I have known Margot for over 16 years. We started out with her as a family therapist during a very difficult divorce. Margot made a huge difference for my children, their relationship with their parents, and they came out of it with confidence. Later, Margot became my psychologist. If it wasn't for this wonderful woman and for her wisdom and her intelligence, I would not be where I am today. I started seeing Margot a couple months back, and I am so glad I found her. I was going through a really tough time in my life and didn't know where to start to get back on track. She is both caring and compassionate, but also firm and direct. Which is a blessing. Then I started to see her and she has been a source of strength for me. She has also worked with my teenage son and has helped him mature and work through his issues. I highly recommend her. This woman should have her license revoked. I have never met such an unprofessional therapist. My first session was spent with Margot on the phone impatiently trying to verify my insurance coverage. This should have been a red flag however I decided to give her a chance. Things only got worse after that. Margot is very condescending and completely lacks social skills. I was sent to her for EMDR to address PTSD. After meeting with her a few times she confirmed that I do have PTSD and announced she would not be doing EMDR with me. When I asked her why she had made this decision she was not able to give me a valid reason. Margot told me she would only be willing to provide talk therapy. I found this disturbing because I sought her out primarily because she does EMDR. At this time I realized it was time to find a new therapist immediately. During our last session Margot wrote me a letter stating my cats are emotional therapy pets. The letter was lost during my move and she refused to provide me with a copy as I requested. Should be zero stars. I left with more issues after all three appointments. She is extremely condescending. I was berated for not looking something up "correctly" on google. (I know how to use google. I grew up with it). So she gets her phone out and shows me how to do it. She told me "I would hate to have you as a daughter," twice!! I almost cried instantly. She said that because I like to feel independent and go to the grocery store alone at night (5:30pm and I'm 26). She accused me of being reckless and unaware for the same reason above. Her conclusion at the end of that session was that I needed to go out more at night. What?!?! CONFUSED!!! She claimed I was uneducated. (I have a bachelor's in chemistry). She is extremely judgmental and quick to make untrue assumptions about your life. When directly asked strategies for managing anxiety she told me, meds. I asked what about before I get them? You need meds. This told me she herself was not educated enough to give me any sort of help at all. Waste of time. Side note: I suspect she may be getting a kickback for referring people to triple A because she talked to me about it for about 30 minutes over two different sessions.
