Marguerite Gardens did the boquets, corsages, and boutonniers for my recent wedding. On the whole, the experience was good! The staff was pleasant to work with during the planning process, they didn't try to pressure us into centerpieces, and their prices were reasonable. We wanted something a little less traditional, and the arrangements they came up with were just gorgeous. The colors were beautiful and they used lots of interesting textures. However, there were a couple day-of issues. First, I asked a few days before if one of the corsages could be made into a wrist corsage -- when the flower arrived, they were ALL wrist corsages. We were overjoyed with our wedding flowers from Marguerite Gardens. We worked with Lisa to create my custom bridal bouquet and all of the personal flowers for our wedding and everything turned out better than we imagined. For our wedding flowers, we wanted to incorporate fresh herbs in place of traditional greenery because my husband is a professional chef. Where several other florists turned us away or told us using herbs would be impossible, Lisa and her team were not at all intimidated by our unusual request and were enthusiastic about helping us turn our vision into a reality. My bridal bouquet included rosemary, mint, sage, purple basil and lots of delicate white flowers. It was so beautiful and so aromatic, and three days later, the herbs are still holding up! The bouquets for our wedding party and all of the rest of the personal flowers coordinated beautifully with my bridal bouquet and held up very well throughout the wedding day. Lisa even worked with us to arrange a special Sunday pick-up even though the shop is closed on Sundays. I've been here twice and will not go back. Both times I was refused service. Several salespeople walked right past me without asking if I needed any help or wanted to spend money in their store. This is despite direct eye contact. So i simply picked out what i wanted (some candles) and walked up to the counter. I stood there for an excess of 10 minutes while people came and went from behind the counter, including the owner herself. No one attended to me, again despite direct eye contact. I'm clearly too fat/gay/bald to shop there, so I won't. Ever. read more

I needed arrangements for a memorial gathering, and was very unimpressed with what the standard florist shops were offering; everything looked generic and plastic. Based on its Yelp scores, I went to Marguerite Gardens, and spoke with a member of the staff. First, she told me, "you know, we don't do typical 'flower arrangements.'" I told her that was why I'd come there, and she began to ask questions - about the space, about the setting, about my late wife's preferences, and of course about budget. Even after I left the store, they kept paying attention. They had me send them photos of vases I owned, in case they could use them. They sent me a photo of one idea for the lectern, and listened to my suggestions for alterations. In the end, they produced truly lovely displays. My wife was a perennial gardener, and what Marguerite Gardens created looked more like a wild garden 'in situ' than a cut flower arrangement. Others have mentioned the expense of getting flowers from Marguerite. Based on my reviews of sites like Teleflora, it would have been just as expensive to get two canned displays as it was to get the unique and personal creations I received. read more

Absolutely amazing florist. We were going a conference in town and arrived here slightly panicking after driving around for 45 mins find no florists could do our 'vision'. The staff working at Marguerite was true pros and helped us sort out a suitable display, many many people at the conf complimented us on the wonderful bouquet they created. I have been going to this place for the past three years. Every time visited, the experience has been great. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of the flowers they carry. Never did I feel pressured into getting something I did not want to purchase or get something I did not like in the arrangement. Initially, I purchased flowers to go in my home for decoration. Who likes a bad review? For my wedding I had them do the mothers flowers and they were unwearable. They were dead! I had to have the hotel order me new ones and of coarse my husband to be did not look at them when he picked it up. Fast forward to a YEAR later our anniversary my husband had flowers delivered to my work place and the card read happy 50th birthday Sharon. FYI it was not my birthday, my name is not Sharon, and my husband would never send roses! and ps they looked like a funeral flowers. Stopped in for flowers and the arrangement was not all that nice. I normally dont buy flowers but was not offiered a vase for purchase or otherwise. I explaned that the lady who was receiving the flowers was 94 years old and to present flowers wrapped in paper would not be appropriate. I stopped in here a few weeks ago during the Andersonville sidewalk sale and decided to buy a bunch of flowers for my living room. The associate was very helpful and together we created a lovely bunch of flowers in my budget that exactly fit my specifications (in terms of height, color, etc.) The bouquet lasted a week, and some flowers even looked fresh for two. But the best part was how a vase full of lovely flowers brightened up my living room every time i glanced in it. My experience not only won me over as a customer of Marguerite Gardens, but has inspired me to bring flowers into my home more often. For serious, you have no idea how nice it is to have a well designed bouquet of flowers in your house, i was pleasantly surprised. Definitely worth the $30 i paid. I'm going back today. read more

Point blank--this is the most awesome flower shop I have ever set foot in. The selection of flowers were mind-boggling and the way they are arranged in the store is just so beautiful. And--just when you thought things couldn't get better--there was live music!--a duet of guitar and violyn (also singing). It was such a nice touch to have the music and really added to the experience of gazing at all the flowers. It was like a mini-vacation... Other extra-cool things--an impressive selection of vases, both antique and new, for really personalizing your arrangements, lots of interesting objects and antiques, and a super-cool nook with original art make from found objects--doll parts in particular. They also had lots of good gift items like high-end candles, soaps and chocolates. The staff was incredibly helpful and so nice. Some of the arrangements I watched them make were breathtaking! Caution, when you order from this establishment and you tell them your budget is $2,500, you will be billed for $4,100! The reason: the owner has no idea what the employees are planting in your garden! The owner than will call you and say:" I don't know what to do, my employees planted more, you are not going to stick me with this expense"... And when you say:"sorry its not me who's running your business" the owner will slam the phone in your face and still send you a bill for $4,100!!! In addition, the plants were dying two weeks after they were planted, and the same owner ignores repeated calls to come and see the damage. They talk a nice talk, and they have nice employees, but the owner is a horrible business owner, has no idea how to treat customers, and should go to gardening school. I've only been here once, but I love this place so much! I've always been intrigued by the seasonal front store display of this place, so I decided to check it out once an opportunity presented itself. I wanted to celebrate one of my girl friend's special life events, and what girl doesn't appreciate a bouquet of flowers? But I'm not talking about the kind that you can pick up from CVS either....call me boujee. The moment I walked in, I fell in love with the shabby chic rustic decor. After walking around some more, I noticed the unique selection of flowers--all were beautifully exotic. Remember that I am boujee and a regular rose does not satisfy me. Since I have an amazing hubby who buys me flowers, I never had to rbuy flowers for myself, so I didn't know how the process works. The florist at the work station immediately greeted me and gauged what I wanted since I probably looked like a lost lamb. I told her that I wanted something special and long lasting. Since that was such a vague description, she started by asking me what kind of budget I had which I appreciated, and then we designed our bouquet from there. In my humble opinion, we came up with a really outstanding design that impressed my dear friend and her fiance--all while staying within our budget. This place went above and beyond! I had personally hand made a card and mailed it to them, to include with my flower arrange to be delivered. I wanted for the card to be delivered, once I saw it delivered via delivery confirmation I called the flower shop, but nothing was there. They asked the tenants next door if it was miss delivered. Nothing. They pulled up the address on the delivery confirmation and noticed I had sent it to the wrong address. They sent someone to that address to find it. No luck as the address didn't exist. They continued to look for it by asking the mail person. A day later after all their efforts my card was found and personally delivered! Thank you for going above and beyond. I love to stop in this place whenever I'm in Andersonville. I live in a low-light apartment and they have an amazing selection of unique low light plants (most stores have the same, boring old options). They also sell containers for you and will pot your new plant on the spot, saving you money on potting soil and gravel. They have a huge selection of cute, teeny plants, too, especially succulents and air plants. I have never purchased their flowers, but they have a very unique selection of flowers by the stem and I am always tempted to buy an armful when I go in. Next time. But the staff is VERY nice and welcoming, which I like. I'm happy to give them business. read more

For our wedding on June 25, 2011, in Uptown, they prepared lovely gerber daisy centerpieces, rose corsages and boutonnieres, my bouquet, and a smaller bouquet at the last minute. I put in various orders from Tues., June 21 - Fri., June 24, and they had everything ready by Saturday morning. The staff was very patient and helpful and just lovely. My family and guests were amazed by the beautiful colorful arrangements, and the flowers just brightened up the entire reception hall. I will definitely be visiting Marguerite again.
