Disgusting. Abhorrent. This is Mod Pizza quality. I'll make sure to just grab frozen pizza from the supermarket for all of this. Not NYC vibes at all unless we're talking about bougie pizza shops catering to people that eat them with forks and knives. The order was placed by my husband as a Pepperoni Pizza: WELL DONE with LIGHT CHEESE, never had a problem before. This is HARDLY DONE. 10 minutes into the drive I opened it up to be greeted by the smell of HOT WET DOUGH. The slices are all SOGGY, OILY, UNDERCOOKED. My husband's bacon pizza was also HOT WET DOUGH beneath the facade of what looked like a pie from Mod Pizza. I don't care if he goes in here frequently. I don't care if the service has been good before. Both pizzas were SOGGY and inedible. My husband's bacon and cheese pizza had RAW dough in the flimsy crust. If the dough is going to be raw, I wonder what other poor practices go on. Disappointed. Disgusting. And and infinite amount of che cosa? Literally. I have a sense that theu get over because people don't want to bite the hand that feeds--but RAW DOUGH in a pizza ordered well done and PAID FULLY for is a rip off. Might think you're getting over because no one came in--I didn't want to ruin my husband's day because it's not his fault. There was basically no one in there, they'd just opened about 30m prior. This is my first time ordering at this location in Glen Burnie and it's by far the worst. Do not waste your money! I ordered a Greek Salad with chicken. I paid $15 for a container of a garden salad mostly full of lettuce. I called and talk to the manager which she swears that her husband who is the owner made my salad and had all the ingredients. Well it didn't, a Greek salad is a not a garden salad lmao. (2) they gave me only 2 small Kalamata olives and NO Pepperoncini. I told the managers wife, why would I call and lie about what you gave me!? I even told them I would like to bring this back and get my money back and they said no. She said hold on and got her husband who never got on the phone to talk to me. If your the owner and you made my salad then why couldn't you talk on the phone?? He knew he was wrong about how he made my salad. So unprofessional. What a waste of $15. If you want a salad go make your own. They are a rip off. I will never again order from here. I was passing through the area for work and needed to grab lunch. So glad I stopped here and hope to eat here or another location sometime. Food was absolutely delicious. Service was good. The shop had an old school New York vibe to it with decor, and service both. They offer a vast menu from subs, pizza, pasta, to Greek. I enjoyed their Stromboli with Italian meat, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni. It was so cheesy and good. Definitely recommend. read more

Although I have lived and worked in the area for several years, I just tried Maria D's last week for the first time. I am angry at myself for waiting so long! I called my order in over the phone. The lady who took my order was friendly and read the order back to me to confirm. They were definitely busy because they had to put me on hold when I first called and then put me on hold while ordering to put someone else on hold. In my opinion, that is never a complaint. Must be good if they are busy! I had the sausage roll which was basically a stromboli with sausage, peppers and onions. It was stuffed with topping and I was only able to eat half of it. The second half I ate for lunch the following day. It came with a small side of sauce. If I had to gripe about anything it would just be they need to give you a larger side of sauce. I used all of it just eating the one half. My husband ordered the gyro which for some reason he heard was on the smaller side. Well...he was wrong! The gyro was not small and the minute I opened his container it smelled amazing! He left me a bite and I happily ate the rest of his toppings that fell off his sandwich in the tzatziki sauce. The tzatziki was probably one of the best I ever had. We also ordered a side of fries and onion rings. I am pretty sure the onion rings are the same ones that Burger King has or had. That is not a complaint by any means because I enjoyed them. The side of fries was a bit bland but we ate them! I have to check if they have seasoned fries because we usually opt for that choice. Like I said earlier my husband assumed his one meal would be small so he also ordered a cheesesteak. Well, he wasn't able to eat it that night to put it in the fridge for the following day. He loved his cheesesteak and will definitely order it again. He kept saying if it was that good a day later he would love to try it fresh. For dessert I ordered a piece of chocolate cake and a cheesecake for my husband. The chocolate cake didn't even make it home because I ate it all. That speaks for itself =) I wanted to order a brownie but they were sold out. I guess that means I have to try to snag one next time since they are a big seller. So i only go to THREE places for subs and this is one i love the meat to bread ratio and the greasy, cheesy goodness. They have a huge sub menu and the toppings are pretty endless. My family and i have been coming here for over 20 years for that exact reason. I rarely give food reviews but I have to here. I got 2 things: an 8 inch steak and cheese and a slice of cheese pizza I'll start with the steak and cheese: bland and the steak was crumbly and the bread was soggy. Maybe I got the wrong cheese as I got the provolone instead of American but if this is how steak and cheese is supposed to be made I'm not a fan. I've had steak and cheeses elsewhere and they've been good. I'll end with the slice of cheese: the crust was doughy and soft. So mediocre. I'll say this for them: they're the only ones in the area with pizza slices and the service was great. The food needs to be improved though. read more

Solid sub shop that also does decent pizza. Called in a 12" cheesesteak sub and a 16" half cheese half pepperoni pizza around 9:00 on a Friday and it was ready in 15-20 minutes. Prices were a little on the higher side for pizza carryout, but both were tasty enough that I didn't mind. The cheesesteak was chopped thin and overflowing with meat bits. My boyfriend was not a fan of it falling apart but I had no problem eating the bits that fell onto his plate. The pizza had more of a thicker, chewier crust than a traditional NY style thin crust pizza, which I personally appreciated. I'm always looking to support a local business instead of a chain restaurant and decided to just grab subs one night for dinner. Nothing fancy, but I didn't want to settle for Jersey Mike's either. I never realized how close and convenient this shop was to home, so I stopped in an hour before they closed on a Wednesday night. There was no one else waiting and the woman behind the counter was super friendly and helpful when I had questions about toppings on the Pepper Steak. The menu is huge as well so I needed a few minutes to decide and prices seemed a little high, but I didn't mind since it's a smaller business and I already felt like I was getting better quality food. After my order was placed, I only had to wait less than 10 minutes for it. The Italian Sub was huge and tasty, but I wish they used less spicy red pepper relish because it soaked through the bread and made it a little hotter than I expected. My fiance's Pepper Steak Sub was...meh. He said it was bland and needed to use ketchup to power through. He would definitely order a different sub next time. Been going here for years, but no more. Ordered the veal parm. It tasted and smelled rancid. I told them that it did not taste right and the veal may have gone bad. I was told, "it couldn't be bad because it is frozen and you just didn't like it." Well, it WAS rancid and like most people I do NOT like rancid veal. read more

I wonder if they intentionally just decided to not season their meat? you shouldn't have to use the salt and pepper shakers just to give your cheesesteak some flavor! Went here 7/13 for the first time to have lunch with my family. We ordered 2 chicken cheesesteaks, 1 veal parm sub, fries & pepperoni pizza. All the food was great. For the veal parm, they use real veal, lol not like other places who claim to have it but it taste like rubber. The chicken cheesesteak was overflowing with meat with just the right amount of toppings. The subs come in 8 inches & foot long. The fries were cooked to perfection. The pizza wasn't greasy, overcooked or drowning in sauce. Social Distancing is enforced if you decide to eat in...mask are required. They have hand sanitizer for use & all employees are using mask & gloves. Sanitization if each table goes into effect once the customers leave. Everyone here is so nice...feels like your neighborhood "Cheers." If you are still skeptical, don't be, the menu is so vast that you are bound to find something on the menu. Also, look at the specials. FYI, the footlong is the bang for your buck but 8 inches is enough...look forward to coming back when I'm in the area. read more

Went here before one of the summer concert series concerts. Took my young daughter to the restroom and went to wash our hands. No soap. I start thinking, how are the employees washing their hands with no soap? Sure, maybe there is a sink with soap near the food area, but I'm pretty sure if they aren't washing their hands in thr bathroom they aren't being washed. Gag! They did refill it after I mentioned it, but you wonder how long it was empty. Best not to think about. Couldn't wait to take a bite, clearly. But I remember getting crab cake sandwiches here with my mom when I was younger and I was happy when I found out that this place still exists. I got one for old times sake and it was delicious! Fair priced, however was $4 than what the menu listed. The cake was big and had a good amount of crab. The flavor of the cheesesteak is fine, it's the texture. It was finely chopped, almost like ground beef. Being from Baltimore and then moving to Philly before coming back home, I know a thing or two about a good sub. A lot of good places actually have this type of finely chopped texture as an option. Chicken cheesesteak was dry with very little toppings. Was told that food was bad because the order was picked up 15 minutes late (glad we didn't door dash). Service was not accommodating which leads me to think customers tend to complain. Wings were super old. The worst cheesesteaks in Maryland! Drove from Pasadena because reviews said they were the best. What a waste of money and gas. We both took one bite and they went right in the trash. He had a regular cheesesteak with lettuce, tomato, green peppers and mayo. I had a mushroom steak with lettuce, sauteed onions & green peppers and mayo. The bread was soggy, steak had absolutely no flavor, the mushrooms were all water and straight out of a can. Come on now? And they charge for every topping on the steaks! I adore Maria D's! It has been an integral part of my childhood memories, from drinking hot chocolate after ice skating in town square to enjoying pizza nights with my family. Though I've tried Maria D's other menu items, the simple cheese pizza has my heart -- its perfect balance of cheese and sauce on a crispy yet soft crust remains unmatched. Beyond the food, the staff has always been kind, warm, and welcoming, as we've gotten to know each other over the past couple decades. This is very near where the courthouse in Glen Burnie where I and friends work. Let me just say that with anything you get, you'll definitely only eat half and have some left over. We challenged the biggest eater in our office to eat the entire cheesesteak with shrimp and he could not do it. Service was efficient and pleasant, very nice lady behind the counter, and the food was very good! I enjoyed the cheesesteak and brought home the Italian cold cut sub which my chef bf only devoured half of because it was that big. We ordered carry-out from this place. I ordered the turkey club on wheat and he ordered a veggie quesadilla, mozzarella sticks and a slice of chocolate cake. I was very disappointed in my turkey club. The portion size was great the bacon was burnt, crumbled pieces like it had been sitting out for hours. I was not happy about that. He however enjoyed his dinner and I tasted a piece of his chocolate cake, which I normally don't eat but it was delicious. Next time I will order something different. read more
