This was my first visit to Maria's, and they were very welcoming. I didn't need much - a bit of a trim and a nice style for an event. Gemma took great care of me, and was thoughtful, down-to-earth, and immediately someone I felt comfortable with. My hair turned out great, and I very much appreciated her assuring me that it was no problem at all to work around my N95 face mask. They even let me use their bathroom to change into my dress for the event, since I had to head straight there! I look forward to my next visit (and I generally only give 5 stars after I've had multiple experiences and can rate reliability/consistency.) P.S. I ran into a colleague while I was there, and it turns out, she's been going to Maria's salon for 20 years, following them any time they changed location. I've been to a few hair salons to have my beard trimmed but this was a different experience they started off with a microscope to see the health of my hair and sent me in a good direction to make sure I don't have balding in the future. 29 years of shaving my Head Maria convinced me to style my hair and I absolutely love it. I had done a lot of research before i picked this salon and im not happy at all with what i got. I had long hair all one length and wanted a pixie cut with a pale pale blue color. I showed her pictures. I was in the chair from 1 - 4:15pm. I told the girl that i wasnt feeling well and would come back the next day for the color. I paid for the whole thing up front. I did not like the cut and asked if someone else could look at it and possibly fix it. I was told no that i had to deal with the girl who cut it. When she gave me my color, it wasnt pale blue, it was GREEN as could be. She chopped the back of my hair so badly, Its embarrassing. I had the green pulled out also. I dont know what i did to get the worst cut and color from this salon, but i will never recommend, nor would i ever return. $150.00 for nothing. read more

Maria has been my hairdresser for 12 + years. She was the first person to tame my wild, naturally curly hair. I can wear my hair straight and it's soft and gorgeous. Prior to her doing my hair, a blow dry left my hair frizzy and by 2pm, my hair looked like Roseanne Rossana Danna. I tried products that claimed to help, but they weighed down my hair and left it greasy. Not a little oily- greasy. Then, I began to see Maria for my hair. She introduced me to Phyto products and I will use nothing else. And it's not just the product- it's the cut. The true test of a great haircut is how it does between my visits to the salon. I really don't think about my hair, until my bangs have grown into my face. I don't have bad hair days. And I can wear my hair curly or straight. I live in Burbank and commute to Temecula to see Maria and her amazing team, in addition to family and friends. Someday, I might have to get my hair done in LA, but my hair does so well between visits and the color holds so well, waiting to see Maria and her team is not a problem. read more

So there I was, at the end of a long road of growing out some hair long enough to donate to wigs for kids. I had such a mess on top of my head that I didn't know what to do with it anymore, and it was finally time to get the ponytail excommunicated from my noggin, as well as get the Grizzly Adams style man-mane tamed on my face. I went to see Keri, more than a little nervous to let someone take scissors to my beard. After she informed me of her extensive experience, I felt much more at ease. She started with the ponytail, and nearly broke her shears trying to get through it (what can I say? My hair is a tough as I am...) once that was gone, she went to work snipping and styling her heart out with the vague instructions to "make sure I look good when you're done". She put down the clippers and the shear and took me to the shampoo station, where the real magic happened. Everyone knows that the shampoo is the best part of the haircut, and this was the exception, in that it ruined me for other shampoos for the rest of my life. Her nimble fingers danced like a dozen little angels preforming a dance of sugarplum fairies upon my scalp. Then it was back to the chair for the beard trim. As I said, I was nervous to allow and one to take a blade to the temple of manliness that enshrines my face, but the temple had been left unkempt, and it was time for some renovations. Keri is a master of her craft, and was able to delicately turn what had developed into something akin to the ruins of a Mayan temple swallowed by a jungle into a glorious Taj mahal resting upon my chin. I walked in the door looking like a wild mountain man, and walked out looking like a wildly handsome man.
