I got an updo for a formal Christmas party this year, and everybody in there was incredibly kind. My stylist did my hair so fast that it looked effortless. I had them include a special gold-and-emerald peace into my hair, which she did an excellent job of placing. They also do other things there. I really wanna go back for my nails and color. I came in for a blowout with a trim. Prior to this appointment, my hair was healthy and undamaged. I have naturally curly hair and had not used heat on my hair for approximately 10 years. During the service, the heat used felt very high, and there was a noticeable burnt smell. While rollers were being placed, I observed that my hair texture appeared different. I was not informed of all products being applied during the service. When I washed my hair two weeks later, I experienced significant and abnormal hair loss. Hair came out in clumps when running my hands through it. This was not typical shedding, and my hair was not tangled beforehand. I used the same hair products I have always used without prior issues. During washing, there was a strong burnt/chemical odor that spread throughout my home and lingered afterward. Since then, I have experienced ongoing hair loss and scalp inflammation. I have never had these issues before. Based on the condition of my hair and scalp after this service, I believe the damage was caused by excessive heat and/or product use during the appointment. Due to this experience, I would not recommend this salon. 0 star review. read more

I love this family! They take such great care of not only me but my entire family. As NYer, the struggle is real to get a true wash&set and not come out over oiled or still "fluffy". My hair feels so healthy and looks strong. As terrified as I am of cuts and trims, Yuberky reassures me that she got me and will not cause me stress as I have experienced with others cutting my hair literally off. She literally will tell me no not that much, we'll do this much today and we do a little more in 4 wks. She's made my ultra tender headed baby so comfortable and confident each visit she's had. Nice first experience with a Dominican blowout. My hair is very thin so I'm trying to use less heat as possible, so I'm still on the fence about the direct heat from the blow dryer. However, I was very impressed with how straight my hair was and I didn't even get my hair flat ironed. I'll try just getting a roller set next time I try them out.
