Again, I don't usually put reviews up for the grocery stores that I regularly frequent however, I have to say that I absolutely love this location. It is always well stocked and very neat. I happen to come in here a couple times as well as use the pick up function in the parking lot several times. And every time I come for pick up whoever that staff member is always been different is always in the best mood and has the best attitude. I love Kroger. I find Mariano's to BEST FRESH selection organic vegetables....meat department is awesome too & thr butchers are friendly & helpful.... Like to give a SHOUT OUT to BOBBY the gentleman who brings in empty carts from the parking lot. I had left my cell phone in the cart as used while shopping with digital coupons Loaded my vehicle & left. Home discovered no cell... Went back & service desk had my cell because Bobby kind enough to handle in to service desk !!!! I offered Bobby a tip / finders fee but lady at service desk no tips unless manager approves. We have occasionally dropped into this Mariano's when in the area but I apparently never bothered to review it. Anyway, one tidbit here is that this store was actually Mariano's #1 and the very first Mariano's to open, and that was way back in July 2010. Otherwise, it's a typical Mariano's with a few exceptions. For one, it doesn't have a bar for whatever reason. Another somewhat unique feature is their liquor displays are all encased in locked glass cabinets and an attendant needs to be called if one wants to make a purchase. I don't know if they had a theft issue here (and Arlington Heights is one of Chicago's better and relatively crime-free suburbs), but that's the first time I've seen that at any Mariano's. The other noteworthy difference is their customer lounge area is quite small. Anyway, none of these aspects keeps us from doing our good Mariano's shopping here and that's my Yelp report, y'all. read more

They advertised that if a person gets 3 or more iced coffee's they will get them at a discount!! However, they each rang up at their regular overpriced i might add price. I chose only to get one of them. I miss Amazon Grocery Store on Roselle and Golf. They had cheaper salads in containers that fit better into small refrigerators. I won't be back!!!! read more

Mariano's is not in my regular stops for groceries, but I most recently went here to stock up on dinner supplies before the extreme cold came since I was driving to the nearby high school, anyways, and once again the day after because it was the only store open at 6a after I dropped my daughter off at school at 5:55a for her competition. I was not a fan of having to use the digital coupons to get a discount on my chuck roast and my Roundy's brand Swiss cheese. Like, isn't my phone number enough?! I also missed the take and bake ciabatta bread from the trading post also in Arlington Heights. I settled for bolillo rolls and they did not stand up to the meat and au jus of crockpot beef sandwiches. Props for the store or someone shopping in the store finding my fitness tracker and turning it into the lost and found after if fell out of my sweatpants pocket sometime. I appreciate not having to replace it! The store was very dark at 6a, and the one set of doors nearest Stan's Donuts remained locked throughout my 45 minute visit so I had to walk the long way back to my car which was annoying in the extreme cold. Also, aren't the doors supposed to be unlocked during operating hours?! What if there was an emergency? Props to the butcher for being friendly at 6a on a Saturday. He was patient and weighed 2 chuck roasts to make sure I had enough for my recipe. He was the brightest light in that bat cave of a store. My favorite item which my family will make a special trip for is the Boss sandwich! I take off the tomatoes, add a thin layer of mayo and butter, and sprinkle some oregano and those sandwiches pieces fuel my party of 3 through Six Flags, Riot Fest, and other various outdoor events in the cooler. Worst purchase was a delicious looking cake...that ended up being fuzzy (moldy) on the top. read more

I'm done with shopping here. I don't know how many times I have bought specially marked items and the price rings up incorrectly. Today I walked up to a huge display of pop, Pepsi, coke etc., with only 12 packs on display. It said $7.49 each buy 2 get 2 free. I took 4 and when checking out, they rang up $11.99 each and the 2 free were not there. I showed the sign to the employee who pointed out tiny letters saying it only applied to 6 packs 16.9 oz. So, why was this sign on a huge display of 12 packs with no 6 packs on sale displayed? Obviously, they are trying to fool folks who think they are dealing with an honest corporation. I've read how Kroger does these things. If you're going to shop there be careful and read the signs twice including the small print. See my pic. read more

I have an even worse update lol. Marianos poisoned my entire baby shower. That's right. Ordered a platter of sandwiches and fruit from their catering department and every single person, including a pregnant woman, went down with food poisoning within hours. We had leftover sandwiches that were sent home with guests, and the husbands/children who ate those sandwiches also got sick within hours. Just gross. Stay away. read more

I really love this Mariano's! All of the fruits and veggies are always super fresh and in stock. It's a well organized and clean store. Staff is always friendly. Pro tip- download their app. You can clip coupons to get discounts and also order your groceries for pick up and delivery. My only complaint is that the lines are typically pretty long and they don't have many cashiers- however this seems to be the norm at most stores! read more

This is the third time I had a bad shopping experience. It was the last straw! Before Kroger bought out Mariano's it was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Now it's each man for himself! No one cares. I'm very disappointed and considering what groceries cost these days you would think the staff would want you to return. So they have a job to go to! Don't even get me started on the app it doesn't work I asked for help, but to no avail! It sucks how you have to clip to get your discounted price! I went to Mariano's in Arlington Heights to get a cake for my mother's and brother's birthday. This grocery store is a bit far from home, and I only go here if it's on the way. The birthday cake turned out great with the writing the way we wanted it. The chocolate frosting was a little salty, which I actually liked. The fudge center was very rich and dense. I loved it. The marble cake was a little dry but not horrible. The store is laid out in a way where it's easy to find things. I recommend Mariano's in Arlington Heights for their cakes and other fresh food. read more

Good afternoon. Or whatever the hell time of day it is in your world. I almost never reach out to customer service or corporate communications, but I've been a pretty loyal Mariano's customer for the better part of the past 15 years. When the first Chicagoland location opened here in Arlington Heights in the summer of 2010 it was an exciting time. Great weekly deals on meat. An expansive produce selection. Excellent customer service. And samples galore. But enough about the first Obama Administration. Mariano's was a beacon of hope in an admittedly white and privileged food desert. Quality, value, service, selection. It was great. I understand the goal was to bury Dominick's, and kudos to Bob for doing so, but even after this was accomplished the Mariano's banner continued to thrive and remained a destination. Unfortunately, over the past few years, the brand's status has continued to dwindle, and I have to admit I have only returned out of sheer convenience and occasional laziness. In short, Mariano's has become the last girl at the bar at 1 AM that still has two working eyes and a pulse. One could pretty easily trace the decline to the stores' acquisition by Kroger. In the ensuing years selection has waned, prices have increased, staffing and service have suffered, and I've noticed more and more people openly weeping in the dairy section. I also understand that Kroger's CEO recently had to step down due to inappropriate conduct, which I can only imagine includes the fact that he repeatedly bent the Mariano's brand over his desk and Rogered it in the anus. Add to this the almost Squid Game-like shopping experience that one now has to endure. The stores did away with baskets years ago, because God forbid anyone purchase 6-10 items at a time. And keeping the carts on some sort of RFD lockdown? Chef's kiss. Not a week goes by that I don't see one of them a mile away in the parking lot of the nearest Chase branch or taking up a guest spot at a local apartment complex. But the icing on the cake was the recent installation of the barricade that not only makes you feel like you should be shopping with Snake Pliskin, but also requires you to navigate the entire store to exit even if you just want a cup of coffee or a small gelato. Walt Disney has nothing on you guys. At his point, the average consumer would probably resort to Instacart, or the local Jewels, or 18th century agrarian concepts, but I've hung on. Probably for dear life. But today, March 16th in the year of our lord 2025, was the straw that broke the camel's back. (Side note: I would not be surprised to more readily find camel meat than a bag of straws in one of your locations) Anyway, my location happened to be out of garlic. And when I asked someone where it might be located, he pointed me to a bag of peeled garlic in the cooler. Now this would be fine if I further lacked self-esteem, or worked as a sous chef at the Olive Garden, but I just wanted to cook. Look, I understand St. Patrick's Day weekend is a big one for cooking and entertaining. And I can see how things like brisket, cabbage, potatoes, Guinness, Jameson, SPF 400 sunscreen and the like might be in short supply. But Garlic? Did I miss the memo where March 17th is now the Feast of the Seven Fishes? All of this is to say, "What the Hell?". How does a major grocery chain run out of one of the staples of Western Civilization cooking? And don't get me started on the other herbs. I've put up with power outages, the inability to process credit cards, paper bags without handles, one cashier on a Saturday morning, locusts, the self-checkout freezing up no less than five times because I have nowhere to put my items. The human shopper can only endure so much. It's time to say goodbye. I guess this is one of the longer Dear John notes ever written, especially for someone I've never been intimate with, although that incident with the hangar steak aisle 11 is probably a gray area. But I'll miss what we had. And I'll leave you with two questions.... Where did we go wrong? And are my BP points transferrable? read more

Been shopping Marion's for years went downhill after he sold out to big Corp store years ago then got little better under krogers but last few months it went rock bottom especially the meats .constantly go in and see brown and exp meats. placed an order earlier today, trying their "new" Boost delivery service. According to their website, the order was completed shortly after placing said order. it is now approximately five hours later, and I have no groceries. when I contacted Customer Service, I was advised that they have no record of the order. It is my personal opinion only, but ever since Mariano's was taken over by Kroger, there have been numerous issues, from incorrect pricing to this mess. Given the fact that im currently dealing with an active case of Covid (yes, again!), I can't exactly just stop in for my own groceries! This Marianos location is always very clean and the shelves well stocked! I'm really happy to see the sushi area open again. The sushi is always so fresh and they guy helping us is always so nice and helpful. He's also very knowledgeable about his department and what he is preparing. So, here's a shout out to Justin in sushi! The cashiers are really nice. It's just a great Marianos! Great job! This is a heck of a grocery store.  I have (2) of them in close proximity to my home, but they are nothing like this location.  Just a real joy to shop in--kind of an amusement park for those who love grocery stores.   From the smell of the caramel corn, back to the grill-- you're killing me with that grill, dude--- it's really something.  The only reason this is not a 5 star review is simple--just like every other grocery store, there is no one on the floor to help customers find something.  Of course, if I shopped there more regularly I would have the store memorized and would not have to ask silly questions. Additional comment--when you feature such a large liquor department, you should have more than one poor woman running to 6 registers to scan liquor for a pack of 16 year old cashiers. To the extremely rude manager who was unpacking chips on Thursday, May 27, 2021 around 9:30 in the morning when I dared to ask where their bottled coffee was: thank you for treating me like I was some kind of a loser freak for not being able to find your bottled coffee "with our other coffee's." This is what your bottled coffee section looks like, which is why I missed it when I walked down that aisle twice before I bothered you. If you set foot in any other grocery store besides your Mariono's, you would know that most stores actually have more than two empty shelves dedicated towards Dunkin' Donuts, Starbucks, and about a dozen other brands of bottled coffees. So please try not to be so rude to your customers who ask you questions, because maybe their questions are legitimate. Maybe they actually did spend five-ten minutes looking up and down both your coffee aisle and all of your other beverage aisles several times looking for this product before they apparently unforgivably bothered you for your time and your assistance as an employee of the store. And by the way.....kindness matters. This is mental health awareness month, so I thought I would throw that in there, especially because you never know what the customer you're being rude to is going through. And for the same reason, I did not hunt you down and get your name and report you for your rudeness, because maybe you are going through something too. But you're the person who works in the store, so maybe you should try not to be an ass to your customers. Especially if you somehow climbed your way up to management. read more

I love markets. Super, small, specific... all markets. I like walking around with baskets or carts and taking in the ingredients. My fiancé says that I have "grabby hands" syndrome in markets, not because I steal (come on, please), but because I will pick up anything from one of the end displays. ($.69 tomato soup?!? I'll take 15, please!) So, discovering Mariano's down the street from my house is confirmation that we moved to the right place. Mariano's is the market I would have designed. You know, if I was a millionaire, inclined to design a grocery store and had endless free time. The lighting is good, the aisles are well-merchandised and the customer service is great. But, then there are the customers. I think the world that describes my reaction to the customer base is: ugh. This should be said with a guttural explosion of disgust. It is like heaven is over-run with misbehaved children, obnoxious house wives, opinionated retirees and lazy out-of-work young adults. You can order a sandwich, but a child will be throwing pizza at your leg. You can peruse the baked goods to have a wrinkled and orange woman yelling at the baker about her perspective on red velvet. This is, of course, not Mariano's fault. They keep up with the disaster that is their client base with a smile. I will be back here multiple times a week as the local Jewel and Dominick's don't compare, but I will need a shield of some kind. read more

The store managers do not treat customers and female employees well period. I worked there part time and was a former customer. I was shocked at the way people were treated. The Store Director has a horrible personality and his co Manager is worse. Watching and hovering over employees nonstop is the normal way of operating. I live much closer to the Palatine store than this one but this is the one I prefer. It's cleaner, well organized, just visually much more appealing. To be honest I'm not a fan of Mariano's since Kroger bought them and have become more of a Wholefood shopper now, but there are times when I need more of the basics and will come to Mariano's for them. I've never had any problem with the staff, their customer service is pretty good. The produce section is hit or miss but it's organized well and seems to be continually cleaned so not too many wilted items. Yes I'll keep coming here, I haven't tried their sushi yet but it seems to be pretty popular maybe I'll try it soon. read more

This review is for the PHARMACY only Absolutely horrendous customer service from an older female Pharmacist. I came in to see no line and needed to fill a prescription for my baby. The pharmacy tech assisted me and allowed me to pay as I mentioned I'm on my lunch brake. She stated the pharmacist needs to verify it before she hands it to me. Then the pharmacist left to the bathroom while I waited as she mentioned she has a medical note and can take breaks whenever she needs to. When she came back I told her I'm waiting for her to verify a prescription already paid for, she said she's busy and has other things to do first. Then she proceeded to take calls and for 15 minutes making it obvious that she will do anything to prolong assisting me. I asked the tech if there is any way to expedite it as there was no one in line before me, and now I'm waiting over 20 minutes. The tech stated that it's all up to the pharmacist, who interrupted her phone call to say she "doesn't want my prescription and to take it somewhere else". read more

Mariano's definitely rocks, they keep the store spotless and the fruits & vegetables are so beautiful, they look like pictures! I am very adventuresome when I am here and love to try foods from all over Love this shop! Fantastic range of foods. Couldn't find one item but staff found it quickly. Very good prices.Great store with such an assortment of items. The displays were done beautifully. Store workers were all pleasant & helpful. Outstanding in every respect. Local grocery store that basically carries everything you need. Great layout that zig zags you into different areas. Great deli area. There's a cheese area where you can try some on display. The sandwiches are made fresh everyday and are worth what they are sold for. The pizzas are really good also. Haven't tried the Sushi but have been told by others that they are good. There is a great coffee bar where you can get fresh coffee and also breakfast sandwiches that are very tasty. Their meat department and seafood department are also worth stopping by. If you're into sweets, stop by the bakery. This is a shout out of appreciation to the shopper who found my little navy coin purse there yesterday and turned it in to the lost and found with the precious contents untouched. God bless you! Tyler in the floral department was so amazing. I picked up a bouquet and he helped me with a wilted flower. He was so thoughtful. His designs are so beautiful and creative. The Arlington Heights Mariano's was amazing when it opened - great service, high quality food. The food quality slowly declined, and then when Kroger acquired the brand, everything went down hill. The worst part has been the switch to self-checkout. Staffing of standard checkout lanes is sparse to force you to use self-checkout, which are setup horribly. The scanners are overly sensitive - I had about 15 items, and received notifications for 6. The checkout attendant and the store manager both said that many customers are frustrated. I don't go to the grocery store to work, there are plenty of other grocery stores in town. read more

When this place first opened in 2010, you couldn't get a parking space. Now, I don't even want a parking space. I've been disappointed in the service and selection for awhile now, but after tonight, I had to write a review. I went shopping at 7:00 on a Monday night and the produce department needed major restocking. I don't know if they were super busy earlier in the day, but I couldn't find a whole cantaloupe, pineapple or broccoli. There were also a lot of very sparse pickings in other produce selections, but the weird thing was that the one guy that was out there restocking was out there restocking apples which there was plenty of. I also needed some boneless skinless chicken thighs -- not happening. My choices were chicken legs; bone-in, skin on chicken thighs; or value packs of chicken breasts. The icing on the cake was when I checked out. I forgot my own bags and I ended up with 23 plastic bags for 43 items. This is the last place I'll go for groceries. read more

I decided to do my groceries in here for a change and I also want to know if which store is better especially when it comes to the quality of the products and the prices. The store has a convenient location and it can be a good option for my usual go-to store. The store isn't busy on that particular day which is really good. It is clean, has enough space and quite an easily lay out. I must say that they have a nice selection of products and definitely the same just like the others have. It is well-stocked but there are few products that I saw that are either out of stocks or only has a few lefts. What I like is definitely their produce and meat section including their deli. Their selection of those three are interesting because the selection seems fresh and in a good quality plus there are a variety of good options. I also found a sushi inside and I tried one and it is actually good. The prices are reasonable and definitely the average one. I was in the checkout when there is a line but not long and I was hoping that it would be fast since I was like the fourth person in the line but it wasn't. The staff in the checkout is slow and that is the only downside I definitely experienced in here. read more

Mariano's moved in and took over. Seriously. If you dare enter during prime hours, I swear that all of Arlington Heights is crammed in there. A demo station is set up that you may check out and your way in or out. They're usually whipping up something tasty, with all the products they are using on display. You can grab some samples and even take-home recipes. To the left of the demo station, you will begin you're grocery shopping adventure in the fruit and vegetable section. Their produce, including organic, is locally grown and reasonable in pricing. They have fresh squeezed juices, that they make daily at Mariano's. Who doesn't like fresh squeezed juices? Orange. Carrot. Grapefruit. Beet. Citrus Bomb. Warning: You will get fresh squeezed orange juice every time you're here after you buy it once. If you continue to the left, prepared food is available. There's a salad bar and soup bar side by side. There are wood stone fired pizzas to order. There is also a sandwich station that I recommend. I still have yet to try their prepared sushi, because I'm a snob when it comes to sushi. Maybe I'll give it a try one day...eh, probably not. If you're able to walk past their muffins, cookies, and pies without slapping your own hand from grabbing 5 boxes, then you seriously deserve a reward. You also should give me some tips on self-control. People have raved about their cakes and cupcakes. I've enjoyed a few of their cakes, but have yet to be impressed by their cupcakes. Maybe I'm just a cupcake snob, too. As for the cookies, that's where it's at! Soft perfectly baked cookies that beg to fall apart in my mouth. Really they do. I hear them as I walk by. White Chocolate Macadamia. Snickerdoodle. Oatmeal Raisin. Chocolate Chip. Their bakery is filled with many other breads and treats that are worth a tasting or two. Don't know what kind of beer to bring home? Mariano's offers the option to create you're own six pack sampler, where you can mix and match. Score! Now everyone's happy. They also carry large bottles of Framboise, which makes me very happy. Don't forget about Vero Coffee & Gelato. Go big or go home...or as I say go big, and take home! Don't waste your time with a measly scoop of gelato. A pint is $5.99, and a half gallon bucket is $14.99. Ok, maybe you don't need the half gallon bucket, unless you're having company, but you're going to at least want the pint. You'd think it's the summer months that get me, but you're wrong. I love the Christmas flavors of gelato in the winter months. Egg Nog. Gingerbread. Ah, I look forward to my midnight gelato treat and going to bed with dreams of sugar plums dancing in my head. I needed a flowers for a celebration on that particular day and my friend suggested me to go in here. It was my first time on this location of Mariano's. The store was pretty clean well lit and everything seems organized. Before I headed to the flower section, I observed that the place got a nice selection of products, produce and everything. Prices are fair and reasonable too. When I was in the flower section, I also admire their selection. Everything on it was fresh and are all beautiful. I thank that friendly and helpful staff in there who amazingly arranged my chosen flowers to a wonderful one. I was on the venue when most of the people in there complimented it little did they know that I only bought it here in Mariano's at a very reasonable price. read more

Ooooh--- I LOVE Mariano's! This store is leaps beyond Jewel, Dominick's and Shop n Save, and yet less pricey than Whole Foods. I wish I had one closer to me. I've been to this location a few times and I love it. The people, the food (on site café), the variety, the speed of checking out. Their house brand is better than other generics (yogurt, coffee pods, waffles); their sales are comparable to the other major chains- though you will find the meats, deli and bakery a bit more. And about that bakery, of note and especially delish are: cupcakes, muffin tops and choc croissants.....es-I like me sweets! The lunch meat (turkey and ham) was fresh and lasted longer than when I purchase elsewhere. If you purchase meat, they will cook it for you and you can pick it up at the end of your shopping trip. How cool is that? No extra charge. Their regular potato salad was very tasty and I love that it wasn't like your generic cut into the same size cubes salad. had some skin on. Yum. The stand out for me is the orange juice- their fresh squeezed, very comparable to pre-packaged and much tastier. I've been talking them up since I went and wish I had one closer to home. I once heard a presentation about how mothers go grocery shopping as an 'escape'. My first reaction was disbelief then I made a mental note to never have kids. When I went to Mariano's I started to think that maybe mothers were on to something... Saturday morning I walk into Mariano's and get a large cup of coffee and a muffin for $2! And the shopping carts have a coffee cup holder! perfect! I took my time roaming through the aisles listening to the piano player. I have to admit that the first time I saw the piano player I thought it was a dumb idea that wouldn't produce returns. But listening to "kiss the girl" from the Little Mermaid definitely put me in a good mood. Maybe they're on to something... They have a great variety of ethnic foods, exotic fruits, great cheap produce! The rest of the store is just like any other grocery store. I feel horrible about saying this, but every interaction I've had with the workers and managers has left me thinking they're just a few fries short of a happy meal.
