Salvation Army Food Pantry tree
Alyssa G.

I am happy to have a coffee shop that is actually open AFTER dinner aka the time I would look for a sweet drink. Ironically, they have opened a 2nd location that is closer to where I live, but the hours haven't quite worked their way up to being a late night spot yet. One star off for the noise level (usually loud!) and the one time I went in there to get coffee to go and some lady barked at me that they do not do coffee to go despite me ordering my coffee to go 95% of the time due to the lack of seating. The drinks are consistently delicious and they have a rotating specialty menu which always delights. I am quite boring and usually stick to the Oatmeal Cookie Latte because it automatically comes with oat milk which is kind to my digestive system. The people I have been with have tried everything from their sugar cookie lattes to their polar bear lattes to matcha lattes. The chocolate chip cookies are also consistently delicious, especially when they warm them up for you. Macarons are a thumbs up according to my teenage daughter. My grandmother has ordered their cheeseball for the table and that was reminiscent of family parties in the 90s. Their summertime setup is great, too--they have multiple fireplaces outside so the ambience is pretty and the noise is less...enclosed. Parking can be a pain, but I will park in the dentist or jewelry spots (I KNOW they are not open at 10p!) and walk over. I still have yet to try their 2nd location, but I hope it is just as good!

Large latte and croissant
Paige U.

First time coming and the shop was super cute. Coffee I ordered was really good and croissant was fluffy and fresh with a good sheen. I will echo the other person's comment about the shop being impossibly full with no where to sit. I got threes after ten am and quite literally had to fight for a table and had multiple people try to aggressively take the second chair to the point I had to lean it and put my jacket on it. Maybe it's time to expand?

Coffee and dessert awesome ! The servers and friendly and helpful. It's adorable and vintage inside ! Cute different types of tables and chairs . There is seating outside . Street parking available. It is in the town of Arlington Heights. Will visit again

Amazing food, very average coffee. We ordered the signature quiche, a breakfast sandwich, a cappuccino, and an iced coffee. The quiche and sandwich were amazing. However, we did not like the coffees at all, which was very disappointing. The cappuccino was just okay and was barely warm when I got it, and the iced coffee (I forgot the name) was very underwhelming. However, the atmosphere is great and I enjoyed my time here.

Sourdough Smoked Turkey and Cheddar Sandwich, s'mores Latte

I loved the s'mores latte here, it was very good. I also liked that the latte came in a mug for hot drinks. It gets very busy, but it's worth the wait for a table. The ambiance is very cute with lots of spots to chit chat with friends, and it could be a cute coffee date spot too.

S'mores latte, banana bread, and a flat white
Stefanie K.

The coffee was delicious - bf had the flat white with pistachio milk, which he was surprised (pleasantly!) that they had. My s'mores latte was delicious, too! The service was very friendly, the woman working the cash register recommended their chocolate chip banana bread and it did not disappoint. I gave it 4 stars because it was pretty loud and we didn't stay as long as we intended. There were reviews saying it's a good spot to work but the volume and music was not a work friendly environment for me, personally. I'd still go back again, just not to work or expect a conversation friendly spot due to volume.

Look how creamy and thick that quiche is.

I have been here several times and it is always a treat. Today I opted for classic quiche (so thick and rich with a thin, flakey, perfect crust) and mocha (made with house-made gansche). This photo was after multiple sips of the mocha, and the foam still was a beautiful flower. It was packed on a Friday morning but I found a spot right at the coffee bar. Staff was absolutely wonderful, as usual.

carrot mascarpone cake (dessert de jour) 4.11.2025

one of our fav cafes in AH - it is always popping in here! i've so far gotten the quiche, matcha latte, dessert de jour, and chai latte. all are delicious. the only con is everything is super expensive compared to other cafes but the vibes and friendly staff make up for it! other notes: -not a lot of space for a stroller if you have a baby fyi. -make sure to clean up after yourselves by putting your dishes away! -if you eat/drink in, you get a number after ordering at the register and you find your own seat

Peanut butter chocolate latte (The Fox)
Grace C.

Light, welcoming vibe with a steady stream of folks coming in/out. There were six of us so we sat at the large communal table in the center (think Thanksgiving dinner table). Had to try The Fox because it's not a flavor combination you see often. Surprisingly tasty, although you would not think peanut butter and coffee a natural pairing. It was too sweet for me because I normally have espresso or a cortado, but the staff was nice enough to add some drip coffee to it (to cut the sweetness). If you normally drink flavored lattes, you'll probably be OK with it as served. I'd still try some of the other interesting lattes next time around. Rest of the group had chocolate chip banana bread (moist and served with maybe a honey cinnamon butter), grilled cheese sandwich, and avocado toast all of which I forgot to snap pics of but we're all solid.

Chicago Burbs Coffee Tour stop 52 out of 76 of my list 105 @cocoandblucafe in @villageofarlingtonheights . Coffee Rating 1/2 Order: Hot Black Batch Brew . - Really outstanding coffee & food spot - When I went sit down seating was packed & to go coffee was lined up. - Staff was knowledgeable & truly baristas - MORE than a coffee shop with a full menu!

CoCo & Blu is an absolute gem of a local coffeeshop in the Arlington Heights area. Between the cozy and varied seating options, the immaculate vibes and updated decor, and the quick service and great drinks! While I was unable to try any of the food at this visit, the breakfast prices are on par with the local area ($15 to 20). I also love the rotating drinks flavors and decor that matches the season! I had been previously, but this time they had Halloween decorations hung up too. CoCo & Blu would be a great place to get some work done or just have a nice chat in the morning. I am also excited to come back and try some of their more adult beverages later on too.

Drink Menu

What a fun and eclectic coffee cafe in downtown Arlington Heights! They were celebrating 5 years of being in business when I visited which made me that much more excited to try this spot. Walking in, it was bustling with people enjoying Sunday morning coffee and brunch. The line to order was short and my drink was made quick! I was between the Fireside Latte and Lavender Bleu but staff recommended the latte based on time of year. I really enjoyed the flavor, temperature served, and to-go cup it came in. This seems like a cute spot to catch up with friends or family and I will certainly keep in mind when in the area again!

Domenic M.

CoCo & Blu is a delightful experience, whisking you inside the eclectic world of a hoarder without the danger of a stack of newspapers from 1961 falling on top of you. The decor is intentionally tacky, like a misfit collection of garage-sale rejects arranged to get within sight (but not reach) of comfort. Unfortunately, form suffers for style, and many of the seats end up being incompatible with enjoying the beverage or food menu because they can't get close enough to the table, or require you to lean back like you're on the space shuttle and ready for the launch sequence to begin. Servers are polite, bordering on friendly, and errors are quickly fixed. Expect a broad age demographic from pre-license youth to 50 Shades of Grey (hair). It's usually quiet and pleasant enough to stay for a bit, but doesn't quite grab the brass ring to make itself truly special or exceptional.

Are reservations required?

I've never made a reservation. They do have events that may require one.

Is this a good place to work on a laptop, or is it more of a coffee date vibe?

Depends on the time of day and season. Weekends are busy and not a good time to.work. During the week or on cold wintery days therr are tables available to work.

Wondering why they close so early if they also serve alcohol?

That’s a great question! We actually just opened one month ago. We are not serving alcoholic beverages just yet. Hopefully that will begin sometime in March. At which point we will be open on Thursday Friday and Saturday evenings until 11:00! Until… Read more

This was a spur-of-the-moment choice but ended up being very fun for drinks and dinner!…read more I LOVE tiki bars and my husband noticed this one in the area near where we happened to be on Google maps, so off we went! We had about a 15 minute wait for a table but it gave us time to peruse the menu in the car. They offer many classic tiki cocktails, a page full of seasonal drinks, a page of "Designated Driver" mocktails (nice to have an option for something other than just a Shirley Temple!), Polynesian appetizers and entrees, and then Lola's Pizza. For drinks, I got the seasonal Gingerbread Painkiller and my husband got a Green Flash mocktail. (Pro tip on the seasonal drinks: check the regular cocktail menu to see how many skull and crossbones are listed under the regular version of your drink, if applicable, to see if it's a super strong one!) Mine was creamy and spicy but quite powerful. Props to our waitress, Makayla, who checked if anyone at the table was epileptic, because normally the "flash" part of my husband's drink is a strobing LED ice cube; I actually am photosensitive, so it came in the drink in non-strobe mode and just glowed an alien green. She said this was the first time it had actually paid off to ask, but I'm glad she did! The food was tasty: I ordered rumaki, an old-school appetizer of bacon-wrapped water chestnuts that you don't see very often these days, and he got loaded fries. We also got a small Lola's Pizza, which was very good, with a crisp but also chewy crust. The atmosphere here is pure tiki, with a fountain, swag lamps, bamboo, and Hawaiian-influenced Christmas music playing for the season. Lots of big groups here; everyone seemed to be having as good a time as we were! What a laid-back gem in Arlington Heights! We'll be back. Mahalo!

(Corn Cheese) Omg it was My favorite. I don't what they put in it to make it taste so good. But I devoured the whole thing. Im lactose in tolerant too and I had no issues. She loved the Crab, shrimp, Mussels that were in it. Good amount of noodles to share amongst 2 people. (Salted Prawn) it was good only wished the prawn was more fresh. Highly recommend if your in the area. They have Kareoke too. The Ambiance was cute with the Line Characters on the floor and the Cool 3D Logo in the front by the Bar. I will definitely be back!

Nevertheless, if it was, it wasn't outside skirt steak. It was the toughest, chewiest piece of meat. It had to be an inside skirt, and to charge $32 for about 6 oz of shit, is a joke. I can get American Wagyu inside skirt at $6-7/lb; yet, the only time I'd serve inside skirt, is diced up in a taco. I would never charge someone the same price I just paid the night before at Perry's for a small filet, for inside skirt. Then again, I would never serve inside skirt as an entree. Also ordered panna cotta, which is a creamy custard. Evidently, they don't know this. You shouldn't go to take a scoop and the whole amount in the bowl moves. They used so much gelatin, that it was just a solid mass. The chocolate tart is just meh. The apps were decent. The ciobatta was good, the sausage meatballs were tasty, slightly too dense tho. The fried shrimp cocktail, do not recommend. They were small, super flat butterflied, and perfectly consistent in size (prob 35-40/#) directly out of a bag, frozen, cheap crap. If you want to do a fried shrimp, use larger shrimp, bread it yourself, have a little pride. We really thought we would be making this place a part of our rotation, but after last night's meal, we will not. One good note, our server was good, sarcastic (which we like when they can joke around), but should've taken us a little more seriously about the steak.
