    Street tacos
    Tori B.

We've been meaning to try this place for some time. It was a nice evening, we had a friend in town, so we figured we'd check it out. There is a small parking lot outback and plenty of street parking. We sat on the porch, which is a delightful place to eat. Any place that has outdoor seating has my vote! Service was great. Our waiter knew the menu very well and was able to answer our questions. He was also able to make some suggestion suggestions Two of us had the shrimp enchiladas and my husband had the carnitas street tacos. Both were good. Were they amazing? No, but good. I think the tacos were fine. The shrimp enchiladas needed something. I'm not sure what. They were just a bit bland and the shrimp was a little bit rubbery. I loved the little Elote they served on the side. For a Mexican restaurant, the prices were quite a bit higher than others in the area. That said, it was full service, which I really like. I did not think the prices were out of line, but I know some people do. They do charge for chips and salsa. I don't mind that. Definitely makes you think before you mindlessly ruin your dinner eating three baskets of them, right? (OK, OK, we really did eat the tortilla chips. Probably three baskets full.! but we still ate our dinner!) We will definitely be back. I'd like to try some other menu items. Check it out!

Went here for a business lunch. Ambience was nice and clean and cute inside. It wasn't that busy which was great. Staff was attentive and we got what we needed. Food was really good. No complaints here. It was a good experience and I would come back when I'm in town.

We brought friends in on a Tuesday at around 5:30pm. It was super busy!!! The restaurant was clean and cute. We got seated in around 19 minutes. Got served chips and salsa. Our server (same one we had last time) was super friendly and even remembered us!! Ordered the tostadas, enchiladas, nachos and two of the taco Tuesday specials -steak tacos. The drinks (margarita, Smokey, and smoky pomegranate) delicious!! The tostadas looked great (my next entre) and were declared delicious. The enchilada plate was a delicious looking meal too!! The nachos (we had them last time) with chili verde were great!! The taco specials-steak-tasted great but the steak was slightly tough. Next time I'll sub for the ground beef. Overall a great experience and we will make this our spot for margaritas and some good food when we are in woodland. The service here has been outstanding each time we have visited.

It had more of a risotto consistency, but the seafood was still tasty. The lomo saltado, though, was on point! Great seasoning, tender meat, and the fries were exactly what I wanted. One surprise was finding out this location doesn't have beer on draft. Apparently, the Midtown location does, so we may have to check that one out next time. Overall, a solid Peruvian spot and definitely somewhere I'd come back to try more dishes.

It is a substantial meal consisting of perfectly grilled steak, vegetables, rice, savory sauce and a fried egg. The steak was amazing, very flavorful, tender, high quality meat. The vegetables - tomatoes, peppers, onions and (perhaps an abundance of) French fries were cooked just right. The sauce was very flavorful. The rice was a good foil to that. The egg probably makes it authentic but was not the stand out. I would order this again in a second. I took half of it home. My wife had the pork belly appetizer and plantain side. She raved about it, especially the plantains. The sauce with the plantains was perfect. The sauce with the pork belly was quite spicy and she replaced it with another sauce that they had. She again would re-order this. Service was great - educational and polite. It was efficient, though the restaurant was a lull period so can't comment on busy times. The space was inviting. There is indoor and outdoor seating. They have a wine and beer bar, but not a full liquor license. We found this a delight and it will be one of our go to restaurants in mid town Sacramento.

The birria was so damn good. Carnitas was really good too, the meat was a bit hard at times. I came with a friend and after we ordered there was an almost 30 minute wait. I was getting a bit restless but the place was busy and the food is made fresh. We were also served tortilla chips with frijoles as a sort of appetizer while we waited. They serve beer here as well. Not the biggest restaurant but the server was nice and friendly. Restaurant clean as well. Would definitely be worth visiting again.

The Spot That Made Me Fall in Love with Pupusas…read more This is the place that made me fall in love with a pupuseria. My wife and I were out one day, decided to try something new, and found this gem up the street from our church. One thing I always look for with cultural cuisine is who's actually eating there. When you walk into a place and see people who grew up in that culture enjoying the food, it tells you everything you need to know about authenticity. This spot checks that box. It feels like the kind of food you'd get at a friend's house, not just something made to look the part. The staff was friendly and personable, which made the experience even better. Now, let me set expectations--this isn't the kind of place where your water glass is getting refilled every five minutes. But you can grab a soda or a horchata and you're good to go. The open kitchen is a big part of the experience. You can see everything being made, and more importantly, you can smell it. You start eating with your nose before the food even hits the table. You take it in with your eyes, and then your taste buds finish the job. I've recommended this place to a few people, and they've gone back again and again. That says a lot. If you like authentic food and want something that feels real--not staged--I think this could easily become one of your new favorite spots.

It took a really long time to get our food but we weren't worried about timing because they told us it would take some time since they cook the pupusas fresh. When we got our order, there was 1 missing pupusa and asked if we wanted to wait for it to be cooked but we declined because we had already waited and the other food would just get cold. I did ask for a partial refund on the chocobananos because my kids said they were so hard that they couldn't even bite into them, which they are frozen not fresh so I would expect some hardness to them but these were like rock hard. We ended up getting a refund for the missing pupusa and a partial refund for the chocobananos. When we got home and opened the rest of the food, we were a bit disappointed, the pupusas (revueltas) are definitely different than what we are used to (not closed up and it looked like mainly beans, no cheese & very little meat) We tried to eat them but I think it just was not the same. The taste wasn't too bad. Then we opened the Tequeños and they looked really good but once my husband took a bite he immediately spit it out. The cheese was like regular string cheese and not melted. Which we thought was a bit strange. My husband refused to eat them but I tried them and they were not too bad, definitely would have been better if the cheese was melted. Then I tried the Platano con leche condensada and they were ok. We ended up throwing it all away because we were already not feeling the pupusas and Tequeños. We dont plan on returning to this restaurant but we appreciate the staff in the front that helped with the initial refunds we requested.

I've loved every single food item i've tried from here, all the different ceviches, the Tallarines Verdes, Adobo de Cerdo, Lomo Saltado??? Everything is incredible, but once I tried the Aji de Gallina, I was STUCK. I loved this dish so much, I would come here once every other month or so to get it, including my last three birthdays. But sadly, I will say, the last two times i've been here, (since July of 2026), I've been disappointed with the Aji de Gallina. Something is different. The chicken tastes drier now, and the sauce isn't quite what it used to be. I'm not sure if the recipe was changed, but please know I am devastated and heartbroken to no longer be able to get my favorite dish and have it taste like it once did. Will it stop me from coming here? No. But I needed to make it known that the change to this dish made someone who once couldn't deviate from eating it if I tried, turn into someone who now refuses to order it because I can't bank on it being as delicious as it once was. And for that, my heart hurts. Still love u guys tho.
