I knew that New York apartments tend to accumulate prior tenants' lives, grime, grease, pet hair, and layers of dust, and that landlords don't deep clean the way I would my own home. I found Patrick through his rave reviews on Yelp, and after a quick call discussing the size of my apartment and its condition, Patrick was able to book me the next day on a busy Saturday. Patrick and Alex spent 7 hours without break deep cleaning every inch of my home, including shelving, cabinets, vents, electric outlets, walls, ceilings, baseboards, and those cleaned-once-in-a-lifetime nooks and crannies. It was the kind of superb detailing work that truly takes 2 professionals the whole day, and I could have never done it on my own in even a week because I would just give up. They brought new cleaning supplies, fresh smelling non-toxic detergent, a powerful vaccum cleaner, and all the equipment needed to reach all those nooks and crannies. At the end of their job, I felt I could finally relax into my new home, and everything was sparkling and new. I went to stay with family while the work was being done, knowing full well I'd be coming home to a major mess I wasn't prepared to deal with. Patrick to the rescue! I called him while the work was being done. He told me to let him know as soon as the work was completed, and he'd be happy to do a walkthrough for me and squeeze me in so I could get home ASAP. He went to my apartment with his assistant and filmed the walkthrough and sent me the videos. It wasn't as bad as I had thought it would be, but it was still a job that would be too much for me to handle on my own. I knew if I hired Patrick, I could just walk back into my apartment as though nothing had happened. And that is EXACTLY what happened! He spent 1 full day and a morning cleaning the place from top to bottom. Everything was put back precisely according to pictures. I had done a lot of covering of closets, etc., because I was scared my building wouldn't do an adequate job. We had left it that he would check whether or not the inside of closets or cabinets needed to be done once he started the job. He was honest and told me those areas were in great shape; no need for him to add on extra work & extra cost. Not many people would be so honest. Patrick is a gem who knows his business. After five hours, the basics were still untouched, no dusting, no wiping, and they didn't even vacuum under my son's bed. More surfaces were dirty or dusty than clean. My daughter's dresser, shelves, our bookshelf, all were still dusty. The kitchen sink was still stained, and I had to spend 10 minutes scrubbing each bathroom after they left. NONE of the bathroom floors, grout was cleaned as I asked for this to be done specifically. When I brought this up, the owner was completely dismissive, offering excuses instead of solutions. She claimed they didn't want to use bleach, but somehow they used it just fine on similar tiles in the shower. The lack of proper cleaning supplies, poor training, and absence of an efficient routine was evident. What's worse, the owner, despite being well-educated seemed to show no accountability or integrity in handling the issue. I paid $500 for what turned out to be a subpar job.
