Please stay far away from Marie Gabriel Couture. I truly wish I had heeded the warnings in the negative reviews before I wasted $5,451 on a dress I was bullied into thinking was mine. Young is price gouging brides, plain and simple, and the entire environment is designed to trap you. My first appointment was a nightmare. While my stylist, Maddie, seemed nice enough, the owner, Young, is a total nightmare. She kept ripping back the curtain while I was half-naked to give blunt opinions on my body and pull dresses that were nothing like what I wanted. It's a vulnerable thing to change in front of a stranger, and she made me feel completely insecure. They also have a weird "rule" where you can't pull more than five dresses so you don't get "confused." I've been to eight other shops, and none of them have this rule. It's clearly just a tactic to force a quick sale. When I found a dress I liked, Young pulled out all the stops to force a "yes," making me shut my eyes while she grabbed a veil and flowers. When I said I wanted to think about it, she basically asked, "What's there to think about?" and pressured me into calling my mom right then and there. I later found out a friend had the exact same experience; it was her first time shopping and she was also convinced to buy a dress she didn't want because of their intense pressure. Her experience with their alterations was even worse. They charged her $1,100 just for a hem and convinced her if she took it elsewhere it would be messed up. During her reception gown fitting, she knew she had gained 15 lbs, yet the dress zipped right up. The stylist looked visibly nervous and told her to just claim she "lost weight" and leave with the dress. I'm still kicking myself for going back, but I was hitting major dress fatigue. Young was even more involved the second time and guilted me by saying she "didn't charge me" for the second appointment fee. When my friend and I said we didn't like a gown, they just piled on accessories--pearls, sleeves, and a veil--to "blind" me to the fact that the dress itself wasn't right. They never disclosed the prices of these extras until the register. I was filled with so much anxiety from Young telling me I wouldn't have a dress in time that I just swiped my card. My wedding was almost 10 months away at this point. Once they have your money, they do not care. When I realized I'd made a mistake, I offered to pay a restocking fee or exchange my brand-new gown for a floor sample, but they refused to help. Their only "solution" was to offer to help me find a different dress in their store; essentially asking me to spend even more money with them. They hide behind the "custom order" label, but you're just ordering from a catalog of sizes. I found my new dress at Sophia's and the experience was 10x better. They listened, never pressured me, and let me go home to think about it without charging me for appointments. That is how it should feel! If you look at other one-star reviews, you'll see that Young's standard response is to bash the bride and claim they are lying, pulling up "notes" to try and paint herself as the victim. This is a classic case of gaslighting. She attempts to manipulate the narrative to make the bride question her own experience and memory of the events. It is a defensive tactic used to avoid accountability for the high-pressure, toxic environment she has created for not just brides, but her employees and past employees as well. I left the shop crying with a dress that isn't me. Save your money and your sanity--go anywhere else! I've been to Nancy's, The Wedding Studio, The Finery, Hailey Nicole, Vows, and Alexandra's. I purchased both my wedding dress and my second look from Marie Gabriel, I also did all my alterations in the store as well. Coming to Marie Gabriel was an absolute bridal dream. The space is BEAUTIFUL. My stylist Whitney, really listened to me, and did a fantastic job pulling dresses that I liked but also dresses I would have never considered. I came to my appt solo and she felt like a close friend right away. All the other gals in the store are truly so kind and do a great job of hyping you up as you try on dresses. While I'm confident alterations are more expensive here than at other shops, I was comfortable paying for the up charge for the shear sake of convenience. Also they do a top tier job at alterations. I never felt worried about getting things altered, because I 100% trusted the gals on the 3rd floor. My number one suggestion for girls coming to Marie Gabriel is to be prepared to be pushed towards making a decision in your first appt. The owner of the store popped into my appt and she was very pushy/intense. It felt a bit tacky. I've purchased from a number of other luxury retailers in Indy and never felt pressured like I did at Marie Gabriel. Overall, I feel so grateful that Indy has Marie Gabriel. My daughter and I were so excited for her very first experience shopping for her wedding dress, but Marie's turned it into a serious disappointment. It was clear to our consultant, Maddie, when right in front of her, I reminded my daughter that she had a set budget and shouldn't try on anything outside of that budget. My daughter agreed--she didn't want to fall in love with something we couldn't afford. Unfortunately, Maddie heard that conversation and still chose to put my daughter in a dress that was more than half again as expensive as our limit--without telling us the price beforehand. My daughter found a dress she adored, only to be devastated when we realized it was far beyond what we could spend. To make matters worse, the shop doesn't display prices on the dresses, so we had no way to keep track ourselves. We had to rely entirely on the consultant's honesty--and that trust was broken. It turned what should have been a joyful first-time experience into a really upsetting one, and it's made it harder for us to move forward. I'm really disappointed with this shop for disregarding our budget and putting us in that position. I'd advise anyone shopping there to be extra cautious and to make sure they get price confirmations before falling in love with a dress. Wouldn't recommend... I went in and ordered my wedding dress (dress 1) It was beautiful and the girl who helped me at the time was very kind. I received a call that it came in and went to go try it on. When I went to go try it, the dress was a different color from what I originally ordered. MULTIPLE associates told me it wasn't but eventually I asked them to get the floor model to compare. When the dresses were next to each other, you could visibly tell they were different... I attached pictures of the shimmer in my dress which is clearly gold where the shimmer in the new dress was silver. NOW... it isn't their fault that my dress was not the same as the floor model. It was most likely a manufacturing situation with the fabrics but with that being said, it also was not my fault and I was not happy with the dress presented to me. They said my options were to take dress 2 home or I could take the floor model. I decided then that I would take the floor model. After thinking on it, I called back to see if they would clean the dress for me due to the situation and the fact that I paid A LOT for a NEW DRESS and basically got one that other women had worn, sweat in, etc. the manager said that she she didn't feel it needed to be cleaned because she thought it looked clean enough.... I wouldn't recommend the place JUST on customer service itself. The whole wedding dress process is supposed to be magical but my experience isn't magical anymore. I reached out to Marie Gabriel via email a few months before wanting to schedule an appointment. I explained to them I was doing a bridal proposal brunch with my bridal party in the morning in a couple months and they all wanted to go dress shopping with me after. They were kind and explained they do not suggest taking more than 5 people but if I felt comfortable bringing 9 people including my mom and grandma I was welcome to. We got there 10 mins before my appointments started and they didn't start my appointment till 40 mins after my appointment was suppose to start. They provided me and my guest all champagne and let my mom bring macaroons in for us to snack on while there. I got Kate as my stylist and LOVED her. She made my first wedding dress apt amazing. Every dress I tried on she educated me and my guest about the dress (designer, fabric, and other details). Nickel and diming bridal boutique, beware! My sister bought her $4,000 dress from Marie Gabriel a few months ago, and came in for a fitting this week. They didn't mention that they charge $950 for alterations until after the fitting appointment. They also charge for try on appointments including mother of the bride and bridal party dresses. That is absolutely outrageous price gauging and we will not be recommending Marie Gabriel for any future brides. Taking advantage of brides by bullying and pressuring them to pay more around every corner is a total SCAM. read more

Hands down the BEST selection of wedding dresses I've found in the Indy area (and I've been to about eight places). I came only two months before my wedding. Everywhere else I went was so panicked about the timeframe (which I understand), but here, they were completely relaxed and confident that we would find an off-the-rack dress within their amazing selection. I originally came in without an appointment and although they didn't have dressing rooms open, the staff pulled dresses they thought I'd like to help me decide if I wanted to go ahead and schedule an appointment. Their helpfulness and selection sold me. When I returned for my scheduled appointment, they had me point to types of dresses I liked around the room. The staff person (Jorie) then went to the back and pulled six dresses she thought I'd like. I loved every single one. I've never experienced a salesperson listen and cater to one person so well. I seriously hadn't found a dress I liked anywhere and then here I found six?! Yes! They were also all reasonably priced (she had listened to the price point I originally said and made it work). Jorie was super relaxing, fun to be around, and helpful. I found out that she is a fashion designer herself, which made her beyond qualified for helping others. Had a great experience with MGC! They really understand bridal dresses and what a bride needs. They also have the biggest and best selection of higher-end dresses in the Indy area. I went on a weekend morning to shop. It was busy but I was not rushed at all. I tried on three dresses and as soon as I put on the Rosa Clara I knew it was the one! I also bought a belt that day and decided on not buying a veil (but I changed my mind three months before the wedding and they had it delivered in a snap!). I wish I had bought it that day because they offer a discount on your first visit. They do let you bring in champagne/Mimosas etc to really enjoy your experience with your friends and family. They follow up via email to let you know when your dress is expected to arrive at the store. Make sure you check your email junk folder for this! After I didn't get my first email they started to call me to ensure I was notified. I did not have my alterations done by the place they recommend so I cannot offer thoughts on that. I will say the bridal size they suggested I order fit so well that I only needed my dress shortened and taken in a small amount in the bust. I had a good experience during my initial appointment trying on dresses. The person helping me did a great job of catering to my wants and making me feel comfortable. Unfortunately, I was not measured correctly. Therefore, I waited seven months for a dress that was several sizes too big. I did not realize that my dress was not supposed to be that big until I went somewhere else to get my dress altered. Additionally, there was a small stain on my dress that I had not noticed during the try on when my dress had arrived. When I left a voicemail about my concerns about the measurements and the stain, nobody returned my call. It appears that the workers are only concerned about helping brides when they get something out of it. As a bride-to-be, I was incredibly overwhelmed, disappointed and exhausted after my appointment at Marie Gabriel... the exact opposite of how I felt after appointments at 3 other bridal boutiques. First, I felt like my stylist was not listening to me and was instead steering me toward a certain style of dress that was different from what I wanted. The owner of the store also stopped by constantly and provided her opinion, which overshadowed my opinion and the opinions of my mom and sister. Secondly, there aren't any mirrors in the dressing rooms, so I wasn't able to see what I looked like in a dress until I was on the "stage." This made for very awkward moments because I wasn't able to gauge how I felt about a dress until after everyone else. Finally, the store uses very high pressure sales tactics. My stylist and the owner really wanted me to "say yes to the dress" and commit. But they were not transparent about the designer, name of the dress style, or price. I actually got so flustered while my stylist was pressuring me into saying "yes" that I turned beet red. My stylist then informed me that there is $150 fee for a second visit, but still would not provide the dress designer or price information. Overall, I beg any bride-to-be to go to any other bridal store other than Marie Gabriel. One of the worst bridal dress shopping experiences ever. I came here with my friend to dress shop and our wedding consultant, last name Young, was an absolute nightmare. She was not helpful or pulling any dresses being described to her, she body shamed my friend and wouldn't let her try on dresses she wanted to, and she completely tore her down resulting in tears and disappointment. If you are a bridal consultant, you need to listen and work with your brides, not dismiss everything they describe to you and also BODY SHAME you. What the actual.... The dress selection was wonderful and they do a great job of making you feel beautiful in the moment. However, do not go here to get your dress altered. They are so busy that they do not listen to you. I paid for 3 fittings and they wouldn't let me have my third. They were so behind on my second fitting that they rushed me through without even letting me truly look at how my dress was fitting. I had a bra piece that was supposed to be connected so the top part of the dress wouldn't slide away and they never connected it. This piece was from the same dress company and if it was used it was supposed to be attached. It was too big on my wedding day and the dress, as I feared, separated from the bra piece the entire time. It is still extremely visible in pictures and made me feel horrible on my wedding day. All they care about it getting more money not about delivering quality work. Where to start? I've accompanied many brides, most of them with no budget. Our experience was less than what you would anticipate based on their newly acquired building. Beautiful facilities mean nothing when you're staff is rude and unwelcoming. Kim assisted us and started our visit with her rules and how she would only be working with the bride and if we couldn't touch dresses or look around that would be great. Beautiful store. I didn't have to lift a finger. Nicole was so helpful and honestly, refreshingly human. I tend to feel uncomfortable in sales situations because I know they want me to hurry up and make a decision so they can get their commission. This was the opposite. Nicole gave me her honest, unbias option which helped immensely as I was between two beautiful dresses. She told me which one looked more flattering and would match the veil that I had already purchased. I did not feel pressured to say yes. I will say, there was an uncomfortable moment with the owner who came right into the dressing room as I was naked to scold Nicole that a dress was put in the back because of broken beading. She then pretty much forced me to try the dress on when it was not my style or something I would pick for myself. I thought the $150 charge for the second appointment was totally fair considering they subtract it from the total cost of your dress. It made me feel like this was taken seriously and not just dress-up. The payment process was so easy and they walked me through everything in great detail. I went wedding dress shopping today! Which is so much fun, right?! I started my day at The Wedding Studio (which was amazeballs btw!) and had my second appointment at Marie Gabriel. I had heard this was the best place in the Indy area to find a gown so I was super pumped to check it out. When my mom, sister and I got there, we were greeted and lead to a waiting area to fill out paperwork. We were offered champagne or a mimosa and the staff seemed pretty friendly. We waited for about 10 minutes, which was no big deal because one of my bridesmaids was joining and was a tad late. What was weird though, was that Young, the owner, told us that the girl who would be working with me was eating some pizza on her break and would be right back...ok? I feel awful that I can't remember the girls name because she was super sweet and helpful (and had the most beautiful hair!) but the experience as a whole was just lacking. She sat with me for a few minutes and got an idea of what I was looking for and my price range. We then took a walk around to pick out a few favorites. She would pull one out and ask what I thought, but Inever really had the chance to pick dresses out myself, and my guests weren't either. Nevertheless, she was able to find about 6 dresses to start with and I started trying them on. I ran into a few problems: 1. Everything was in champagne or nude. I was looking for an ivory dress so this made it difficult to "imagine" what it would look like in white. 2. I didn't get to try on many dresses that really looked like what I was wanting, everything was a tad different. I would have thought with their inventory, they would have had a better selection. 3. I'm curvy and they tried way too hard to pour me into a couple of dresses that there was no way my booty was fitting in! I had one dress on that I liked but was just a tad off. The owner came over and got a little argumentative with my mom and was kind of talking in circles. She seemed like she just wanted me to find something and get out. At this point, I had tried on like 10 dresses. Overall, I was just underwhelmed. I did end up finding a dress I liked a lot, but again, wasn't Ivory and I just couldn't commit to it. I knew I wanted to get my dress here, after my sister and cousin did over the last couple years. I was incredibly excited leading up tp the day, saved every penny I could because designer gowns are not cheap! When I got to Marie Gabriel, I was greeted with insanely welcoming smiles - not to mention a very women focused and empowering energy. My stylist's name was Kim, and oh my goodness I was moments away from inviting her to my actual wedding she was incredible. We had similar body types, and it was great to truly feel like my wants/dislikes were heard and she got me! The owner, Young, came by and was throwing compliments at me left and right about how gorgeous my skin was, I was made to be a bride, and also gave incredible insight to how to pick the correct dress for me. Overall, I could never recommend this bridal shop enough - not to mention the dress I did get was under my budget - which was a huge score for me. This place had a large variety of wedding dresses that were beautiful, but I only saw about 5 of them. I was unable to walk around and pick out which dresses I wanted to try on, the stylist picked what she "thought" I would like to wear. I felt like I was missing out on so many of the beautiful dresses because I wasn't able to see for myself. In addition, I wouldn't recommend coming to this place if you aren't sure what you want because the staff were very pushy and tried to rush me to pick a dress that I was not sure about. I felt like all the stylist cared about was getting the sale, and did not care if I liked the dress or not. I made a comment that I had another appointment that day and she tried to tell me that I wouldn't find a better dress than the one I tried on at Marie Gabriel (this was not true), I found my favorite dress at another bridal studio. Perhaps all the stylists that work there aren't this pushy. Honestly, I probably would have found my dress here if the staff would have focused less on trying to sell me and more on trying to find a dress that I was absolutely in love with. It was an overwhelming experience and it's supposed to be a fun experience. When you're picking out a dress for your wedding day, it's not a decision you want to make in an hour time frame, you want to be absolutely sure you found THE dress, and this place does not allow you to do that. read more

tldr: I feel that the $150 charge to come again is a scam and I was pressured to make a decision even though pricing and designer information was not transparent. If pricing and designer info was more upfront then I probably would've bought the dress from here. Instead I bought it elsewhere. I'll start with the positive: Marie Gabriel has a very extensive collection of designers and collections that they carry in store. They do carry several designers that are not available at other Indianapolis bridal boutiques. I will say Kate did pretty well in selecting dresses for me to try on. The rest: - The $150 charge to come again: It's not normal for a bridal boutique to charge $150 for another visit to the store to try on any dresses you are interested in. I visited a boutique in Carmel and a boutique just west on 82nd street twice without a similar charge and they let me know I can come in as frequently as I would like to try on the dress. My sister bought her dress at the Pronovias designer store in NYC and they let her come in and try on the dress several times before saying "yes". They understood that some brides need time to make a big decision and it can't be done within a 90 minutes appointment. - Pressured to make a decision: At the end of my appointment when I had my favorite dress, I really felt pressured to say "yes" by Kate. I had two of my friends/bridesmaids visiting from out of state and we had several other appointments to go to while they were here. I was told "finding the dress is not about thinking but about a feeling" and that I "wouldn't be able to remember this feeling later on". We mentioned that my mom wasn't able to come with me so I would like to show her the pictures later. Kate suggested that I facetime my mom right there in order to make the decision. I didn't appreciate this pressure. - Misled on the designer: When I tried on my favorite dress, I was told that it was a Pronovias dress. My sister was facetiming in and asked for the dress name so she could see it in my detail since she was not in person. Kate withheld that information and said she had that information on my file when I decided to come back. We could not find this dress ANYWHERE on the Pronovias website. I called a few days later and the person who answered told me that it's a St. Patrick dress but she didn't know what other dress information she could tell me to find it online since this dress is "exclusive" to their store. (which is not true... and actually really absurd to make your bride feel that this boutique is SO exclusive that I can't find it anywhere else). I acknowledge that St. Patrick is part of the Pronovias group, but it is actually wrong to call this a Pronovias dress. You wouldn't call a Vera Wang Bride dress a Pronovias dress even though it is under the Pronovias Group. (Actually, I looked on the Marie Gabriel website and the dress names are actually labeled when you hover the image so not sure why I was told otherwise.) - Not upfront about pricing: I asked how much the dress was and I was told that with tax it would be around $2200-2300. Due to my naivete I did not press. After I went to several other appointments, other boutiques were very forthcoming with the price to the CENT. When Kate followed up a few weeks later over the phone I asked how much the dress was and she responded the same and that they don't disclose exact pricing until I decide to purchase with them. This makes zero sense to me. It wasn't until I complained a bit that I was told the exact pricing before tax. After I calculated tax on it, it was actually over $2300. - Miscellaneous: For a bit, we were the only customers in the store so Young was around quite a bit. However, I found that her customer interaction skills could use improvement as she noted I was "too skinny" for certain styles/dresses and this didn't make me feel great. I found Kate's customer interaction skills on this side to be much more engaging without making me feel bad about my body like Young did. read more

I have to say, even though I did not find my dress at MBC, I truly do believe they are a top tier bridal shop in the Midwest. My check-in went smoothly - I was paired with Lauren who I highly recommend. She and the owner, Young helped pull many dressed and listened to what I liked and didn't like about each one. I'm looking for something very specific and Young was kind enough to give me designer recommendations to fit my needs - that's going above and beyond what they needed to do, and I greatly appreciated it. I'm super picky... I have something very specific in mind. Unfortunately what I'm looking for is not super common in the Midwest so I totally understand! Overall, very impressed with the service. I just bought my wedding dress here and I couldn't be happier. They carry all the best. Literally the best selection in Indiana. I don't know anyone we get a dress from anywhere else. They have so much care and love for every bride that comes through that you just feel so loved and happy and it makes picking of your perfect dress so much easier. Updating my review to include my alterations experience. I purchased their alterations package--which wasn't cheap but I wanted the peace of mind of having my dress altered at the place I purchased the dress. Peace of mind is exactly what I got--along with excellent service and care. At my first fitting appointment I brought several out spoken friends. They were a little more vocal than necessary at points. Young and her daughter were great at listening to them, but also engaging in some "crowd management." I could tell they had my back the entire time. At my second fitting (I only had two), we realized that my dress needed a little bit more lace on the bodice. This would have been a huge issue had Young not been such a great shop owner. She explained that every time they get a dress in they get a sample of the lace. She said that she nervously saves these tiny patches of lace--just in case a bride buys that dress and needs extra lace. As soon as we realized we were short on lace, she said give me a minute let me see what I can do. Minutes later she re-emerged with a square of lace matching my dress exactly--and they methodically used every inch of it across the top of my dress. You would have never known they added it in. During my final fitting, I wanted my dress a little more snug than Young recommended. She suggested I would have to be careful to not tear the dress at the shoulder. Of course during my reception I did exactly what she predicted and the shoulder tore a little. It was an easy fix the night of, but I wanted it to look new after the wedding as well. I emailed them about what happened and they graciously repaired the dress for me even AFTER my wedding--and did not charge anything extra. This was a small repair, but I really appreciated their willingness to help--even when they warned me. They were very helpful explaining my bustle and gave my mom a diagram as how to do it, she really appreciated that. They were wonderful in helping my mom load my dress in to the car at pickup, helping us to avoid wrinkling the dress, and showed my mom how to steam the dress for spot wrinkles (dress traveled to Texas) with a cheese cloth and a steamer. I know people say that the staff is very direct here, but honestly their directness helps get the job done. They are experts at this wedding dress thing. Trust them, you won't regret it. read more

Bride Beware! You are on a secret time limit. Arrived 5 minutes early(1:25pm Saturday November 24th 2018) 1:30-1:45 Kayla, sales associate went over dress ideas with me 1:45-2:10 Looked at dresses 2:10 Taken back to the stage while Kayla pulled dresses 2:20 Kayla and I then began trying on dresses like a well oiled machine. We were efficient and worked well together. We tried on 8 dresses and I was on stage for an average time of 2 minutes. The dresses ranged in how long to get in and out of, the average time was 3 minutes The owner, Young Colling, was a looming presence the entire time, walking past and whispering things to Kayla every so often while also telling me what I do and don't look good in in front of all of my group while I'm on stage including telling me, "Cap sleeves definitely don't look good on you" 2:45, only 25 minutes after I began trying on dresses I found "the one" however none of my party liked it. We decided to take a quick break to discuss what to do 2:50 we stepped outside avoid pressure and to gain clarity. We stepped back in at 2:55 and I had decided that with some alterations I was going to say yes to the dress 3:00 I was back out on stage with my gown. Kayla had everyone close their eyes as she put the veil on me and handed me a bouquet. She had everyone open their eyes and I was so happy- all smiles. Kayla said, is this a yes? I said, "Yes!" Also worth noting the dress was $3,450.00. 3:10 Kayla tells one of the other associates to get the champaigne. The veil was nice but since my dress was champaigne I asked if we could try on some cathedral champagne colored veils 3:15 (55 minutes after I tried on my first dress). As I'm standing up there in my dress with a veil, flowers in my hand and had already said yes as my whole bridal party is sitting in front of me and Kayla is next to me, Young Colling came up to the stage and said, "You have to go! I have a very angry bride! Her appointment was at 3pm! She is very unhappy! I didn't know you were going to leave and come back! You have to leave now! I glance at my bridal party, all mouths hung open in shock and look back at Young Colling, I stood there, stoic and unmoved. I have dealt with several of these types in my lifetime, in my travels, in work and so I just stood there in my dress waiting to hear what she would say next. Sure enough she continues, I run this business like a restaurant! You come in, you get what you need and you get out. (Which, I'm not sure what type of restaurants she goes to but I've seen people stay at least half an hr or more after they've paid their bills countless times, that's a terrible analogy on top of an already horrific situation.) With my head held high and my poker face on, I said, "Firstly, we were stepped out for no longer than 5 minutes and also, no problem, we'll go and I'll be purchasing this dress from another salon." -It is worth noting that I received 3 confirmations of my 1:30 appointment prior to this day. None of them mentioned a time limit, nothing about 90 minutes. There was nothing at all, just the time to arrive. -As I head back to the dressing room after being scolded the tears I held back on stage poured down my face the moment we were in the dressing room and Kayla hugged me and kept apologizing on behalf of her boss. Young came to the curtain and she began yelling at Kayla saying, "This is ALL your fault! You knew you had a 3pm! Tell her to come back at 5! She needs to come back at 5! We all left very quickly and were out of there at 3:20. My bridal party commended me on how I handled the situation and they were all hugging me and apologizing profusely for my experience being ruined. -At 7:30pm that night I saw that I missed a call from none other than Marie Gabrielle Bridal Salon. I'm sure that after some thinking, Young is missing her 4 grand (veil, taxes, maybe shoes etc) that I was 10 minutes away from spending. -My friend said it best, "All she had to do was go to you privately in the room and say that she booked too closely today and apologize and ask you to maybe go grab a bite to eat and come back and you gladly would have." Buyer beware! A good friend had this experience: Do NOT go to Marie Gabriel Couture Bridal if you are above a size 12! I had the WORST experience there. I've tried on literally 100 dresses all over and no one has told me I "can't try that on because you're too big" until today. I was so excited to try a few of the dresses on at first, but when I got back to the fitting room I was "not allowed" because of my "size"!!!! The owner brought some she thought I would like... NOTHING like the ones I picked. When the owner left the room my consultant (who was helpful) told me to go ahead and step in one I liked..(size 12 which usually fits) then when she heard the owner come back she immediately told me to hurry up and get out of the dress. I had an amazing experience finding my wedding dress here! Natalie was my stylist and she was so patient and even helped me look through my Pinterest board and found a dress exactly like the one I had showed her! Her knowledge of the dresses and styles still amazes me. I highly recommend paying in full at the time of purchase if you have it, just because so many expenses come up later in the wedding process. But they do offer a split payment if you need it! They treat you to champagne and cute photos after you have found your dress. I love the extra touches they add on! It is an exciting day and they make everything perfect for you. They truly have every design you could imagine. It's almost overwhelming. So look ahead of time and see what kind of styles you lean towards, but have an open mind going into it because you never know what will end up being "the one"! But, I'd take a star or two off because I didn't love the alterations experience, unfortunately. I was forced to add some seams where I didn't want them in effort to take it in. I wish I would have asked about that before picking that dress and ordering the size. I also didn't love that they required you to pay a fee for a second appt if you didn't say yes to the dress at the first appt. I had such a good experience here, it was the only place that I went to look at dresses and I purchased my dress the same day. I tried on 8 dresses and Celeste really was invested and genuinely cared about my experience. She saw the style I wanted and picked out a dress halfway through that she thought I would love based on my previous choices, sure enough it was everything I wanted and more it perfectly fit my body type.
