I went here as my final stop in my full day of looking for my wedding dress in January 2024. All day I didn't find anything. We got to our visit and we had to wait in the little room for like 10 minutes for the other appointment to finish up; that was fine. Once it was our turn, we got to utilize the main big room, which was great! We were able to bring in our own drinks, so we danced around and had some beverages. Our consultant did a wonderful job listening and pulling all the options she could. I tried them all on, then a couple on a second time, and realized I found my dress. Yay! They even gave us a discount out of the blue. Yay! The sizing, ordering, paying (2 installments) and pick up/try on were easy. I had an absolutely excellent experience picking out my dress at Blue House Bridal. The staff was so friendly and did an excellent job of not only asking me about my vision, but sharing dresses that were similar. I had several of my girls with me and they were accommodating about my larger group, and receptive to all of the feedback coming from a variety of directions. In terms of my dress selection, I got the dress I wanted by the designer I wanted (Essence of Australia) for the price that I wanted. My dress was a sample dress and honestly fit almost perfectly. I was so grateful this was such an amazing experience. An added bonus was once I found my dress, they let me try on accessories and hold a sample bouquet so I had a better sense of what I would look like on my big day. I not only got my dress, but also a stunning veil. I cannot recommend this bridal shop enough. I made my appointment on a Friday since me and my mom both coincidentally work half day Fridays. My mom was running late and I texted Brittany the owner I was going to be 10-15 min late and she was kind and fine with it. Brittany and the stylist did such a good job educating me on every dress and answering every question I had. The studio is a small White House so I recommend only taking your mom and a couple other people as the room you try dresses on in is rather small. Had a great experience here with my daughter and her bridesmaids a month ago. We arrived with some time constraints and they were running a bit behind as we were the last appt on a long Saturday. But the professionalism, friendliness, efficiency, teamwork and knowledge of the bridal stylists was truly amazing. From a few photos on my daughter's phone and about a 3 minute talk with her- my daughter was able to try on about 4-5 dresses- each one was a good choice to try. My daughter is plus size as well which is difficult for some bridal salons. And in the end, even though she didn't pick her dress from this location, she did find her second choice dress. Tip: definitely have an appointment set up before arriving! This shop is in a little white house off of Rangeline and Main Street in downtown Carmel. They have gorgeous dresses, leaning towards the pricey side. There's only one wall of off-the-rack dresses, so if you're a last-minute person like me, this may not be your place. However if you're a normal bride that plans in advance, you should definitely book an appointment. There's look books in the lobby that you can use to show what you like. Like everyone else, I had a wonderful experience at Blue House Bridal! It was the 4th bridal shop I had visited, & by far the best one. I currently live in California, but we were in town for my college graduation, so I decided to shop in the Indy area since my family was there. In CA I had gone to 2 shops & left disappointed because they didn't have any dresses in styles I liked in sizes I could try on, which didn't make me feel great about myself. Mind you I'm a size 14-16, which really isn't even that big, so I was a little shocked at the lack of selection everywhere. Then while in Indy we visited one store in New Castle, & they had a pretty good selection but nothing I fell in love with. I was starting to lose hope & was feeling pretty terrible about my body, but luckily Blue House Bridal turned that all around! I'll admit that when I first looked at their website & saw where it was located, I was worried they would be snooty & only have size 2 gowns to try on, but it was actually quite the opposite. They were by far the friendliest associates of any store I visited, & they had a great variety of dresses, both size & price wise. When I got into town I called & left a message, and they called me back to schedule an appt. within a couple hours. They were very friendly over the phone, & were able to accommodate me on short notice. When we arrived (to a cute little house in downtown Carmel, though it's white...they should paint it blue!), Brittany & her lovely sister (I can't remember her name for the life of me!) greeted us & had me fill out an info card, then they asked me several questions about what I was looking for. They then went & pulled several gowns in a variety of styles. Not once did they say anything about my size, or that selection might be limited, etc. They clearly have a great selection & keep a variety of sizes in stock in their sample gowns, which is nice. We were taken upstairs, where I believe they have two dressing rooms & two viewing areas, & they took my parents to the couch in one viewing area and me into the spacious dressing room. Brittany & her sister were very warm & friendly and had genuine conversations with me while helping me get in & out of dresses, which made the experience all the better. While in the viewing area they were more than happy to pull veils, & fabric pieces to show me what a dress would look like with the addition of a cap or off-the-shoulder sleeve, something I really wanted, and they never made us feel rushed at all. We were the only ones there at the time, but I'm sure they had appointments after us. I ended up choosing a gorgeous gown that just happened to be off the rack, so it was a great price ($850ish down from around $1500 or $1600). My fiance's mom wasn't able to join us at this appointment, & I really wanted her to see it before I bought it, so they were kind enough to squeeze us in the next day so she could see it. Even though it was a busier time for them, they were still friendly & brought me veils and jewelry & again didn't rush us at all (though I should have rushed myself because I ended up being late for my college graduation...oops!). Of course my FMIL loved the dress so I happily bought it! I was indecisive about whether I wanted to bring the dress back to CA for alterations or have them done there, so I ended up leaving the dress. However since then I've decided it would be easier to do them in CA, & Brittany has remained very helpful via email, helping me coordinate my FMIL coming to pick it up. I was also thinking about purchasing a veil from there & she was kind enough to find out how much it would be with a blusher, & let me know how long it would take to get in. She always responds very quickly to emails which I appreciate! My only tiny criticism is that you are only allowed to photograph the front of dresses...I don't really get this, I'm not sure what it is you could do if you had a picture of the back of the dress. It was just a little bit of a bummer that I couldn't show my friends the back of the dress. Overall it was a great experience from beginning to end, & I would recommend Blue House Bridal to any bride that is in the Indy area or can easily get there! TL;DR: Blue House Bridal is charming, friendly, & affordable, has a great selection, & will make you feel wonderful while they help you find your dream dress. Blue House Bridal made it so easy for me to choose the dress for my big day! My mom and sister had previously scoped out a couple of boutiques to look at for my wedding dress prior to me coming in town and said this was THE place for me based on my traditional style-sense. Brittney was lovely to work with when I came in. Very friendly and could see what was working with the dresses she had selected for me to try based on my wishes/recommendations. I originally came in wanting a lace wedding dress and ending up coming out with an elegant satin stunner of a dress. The crazy thing was how fast the process took: I only took one hour to pick the dress! I don't know if this means I'm super decisive, but Brittney's bridal knowledge definitely helped make the decision a snap. Not that the price was the end all-be all issue, but all of their gowns are reasonably priced in the $1000-3500 range. I ended up picking out a dress at the lower range. None of the dresses I tried on looked cheap or mass produced unlike a certain bridal superstore (cough cough). I was in from Chicago visiting my sister in Carmel and decided to set up a few dress shopping appointments. I set up an appointment with Blue House Bridal with no issues, but things fell apart after we arrived... 1. We were told adamantly that we were not to touch any of the dresses ourselves and not to look around in other rooms for dresses. 2. We had a quick discussion with the assistant helping us (Kim) about what I was looking for. I explained that this was my first outing, and I was open to trying different styles. I tried on 6 dresses and then was told we were done with 20 mins left in our hour long appointment. 3. All of the dresses were VERY small. I understand sample sizes, but as a size 6 there were no dresses that came anywhere close to fitting me. It was hard to even visualize what the dress would look like in the correct size, because the sizes were so off. We learned later in the day that this boutique just changed owners, which may explain the less than ideal experience. There are a ton of other great bridal stores in the area - Blue Bridal was at the very bottom of our list. read more

Blue House Bridal was my third and final appointment and I ultimately purchased my Pronovias dress through them. Tip for first time brides; don't just drop in on a salon. Most stores will not let you browse their selection and typically won't have a consultant available on a whim. Always call and set up an appointment before hand in order to receive the service you deserve. David's Bridal is probably one of the few salons where if you just want to walk the aisles and view the merchandise you can. One convenience that stood out with BHB is that you can text the store number in order to set up an appointment as well as communicate about your dress. I went with just my mother on a very rainy morning just after Christmas. Having had two additional appointments before this one I knew that I wanted to try on dresses that were the complete opposite of what I had been to make sure every itch had been scratched. This salon is an old home that has been converted to retail so it has a very cozy and compartmentalized feel. There are dresses stashed in different alcoves all over the place and some are located in some of the areas where other brides will be trying on dresses. Because of this you may not be able to see all of the selections available. Your consultant through your guidance and their judgement should be able to help pull pieces that match your taste. Carrie my consultant was great and pulled some beautiful gowns. Her first pick nearly set me back to the beginning because I had a dress to beat and her pick definitely confused me! After trying on at least another 6 dresses I tried on the Pronovias that I had fallen in love with at another salon. They do not have alterations on site but have a recommendation which we intend to use. read more

If you have a certain designer in mind, this is a good place to go! I didn't find my dress here because they had a limited section of dresses I was looking for. The one thing that made me want to give BBH 3 stars, is the fact that my stylists asked me my budget in front of all the people I brought (5). I was very uncomfortable to answer this question, as I was going to be paying for the dress myself. I wasn't embarrassed how "low" my budget was, but actually didn't want others to know how much I was actually willing to spend. This was a major turn off for me and almost made me not want to continue with my appointment. Almost from the moment I got engaged this Spring I wondered how my little sister and I would be able to have some special moments together with her and I living in different parts of the country. I had an Amazing experience at Blue House Bridal, and I would eagerly recommend Valerie over any other bridal store in Indianapolis. I was in town for only a few days and Valerie accommodated not only one, but Two very, very last minute appointments as I tried to cram everything in on my trip. The shop is gorgeous and classy. Exactly the space you would like to be in when trying on wedding dresses. Their selection is really great and Valerie is eager to please and make adjustments to gowns as needed. She also understands what looks good on a bride. Several times, she would whip out a belt or accessory that I was skeptical about- but the second they were on, I was like "I gotta have this!". What can I say? She has fantastic taste. I live in Chicago and had already spent hours at the likes of Vera Wang, BHLDN, Ultimate Bride, etc, etc- and I can honestly say- she had equal or better selection and surpassed customer service. Finally, I was on the hunt for lace. Everywhere I had searched seem to have this thick bulky appliqué type lace. But when I arrived at Blue House, I was so pleasantly surprised.
