Boulangerie Guillaume caught my eye unexpectedly. I did not have this place on my list of bakeries…read moreto try while in Montreal, but as I was walking in the area I noticed many people holding their distinctive yellow bags. I was intrigued, and since I can always go for some carbs I decided to head in and check this place out. Unlike most bakeries I visited, Boulangerie Guillaume has a much more modern look, and is larger than a standard bakery. Walking in, I was immediately greeted by stairs which led up to the main production area. All of the bakes were arranged on the back-wall perimeter of the space separated from the pedestrians by a glass wall. The color scheme was mostly black to contrast the bright yellow of the bags and signage. The arrangement of the bakes, combined with the color scheme and modern aesthetics, resulted in a stunning, visually striking presentation. I wasn't too hungry, but I can always go for some sweets and their date square looked good. I went with that, along with a cappuccino. The square was delicious - the dates were high quality, and the crust underneath was moist while maintaining its integrity. The cappuccino was also good, a great complement to the bake. Service was efficient, and overall I had a great experience at Boulangerie Guillaume. I definitely want to return to explore more of their menu - I noticed they had some savory items so perhaps for some lunch. Definitely one of the best bakeries I visited in Montreal.

Además, los precios son bastante accesibles para el nivel de los productos. Lo único malo es que no cuentan con mucho espacio para comer en el lugar, pero aun así es totalmente recomendada.

I'm just gonna say it - their kouign amann was my favorite bite of my whole trip to Montreal!…read more We ordered: - kouign-amann - chocolate croissant - almond croissant The kouign-amann was perfection - came out warm, buttery, with nice layers and a sweet crisp top! I honestly regret not getting more to take home with me! The croissants were also really good - super buttery, it was making the brown bag oily but not in the gross way lol Parking was tough when we went bc some streets around it were closed but it was fine after a couple rounds of driving. Would recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal!

This place was hands down a highlight of my Montréal food scene experience. The shop itself is very cute and cozy, with just two small tables by the window and a few chairs. The décor is simple, and so are your choices, which honestly works in their favor. When you step inside, you get a direct view of the bakers working their magic, which makes the experience even better. We ordered a hot chocolate, plain croissants, chocolate croissants, and a slice of the Kouign‑Amann. If you like a dark, rich hot chocolate that's not overly sweet, look no further, this is the place. As for the croissants, both the plain and chocolate versions were good but fairly standard. However, the real star was the Kouign‑Amann. It was served warm, perfectly crispy, and had just the right amount of sweetness without being overwhelming. It was so good that when I finished my slice, I went back to the counter hoping for more but they were sold out. To be fair, I arrived around 2pm and they close at 3pm. Despite that, the line moved quickly, and the staff were some of the sweetest people ever. My only regret? I only bought one slice. I'd highly recommend this place, but make sure you get there early if you want to snag a slice of Kouign‑Amann before they sell out.
