The staff were quite friendly and all were on their game and attentive. The food was very good and abundant. I had the Mexican Rib-eye steak last night and it was cooked a perfect medium rare. Breakfast this morning was Machaca and Eggs. Lots of it perfectly cooked and great to taste. Oh, and their salsa is outstanding! We'll be back if we ever head this way again. Margarita's was outstanding and so was the Prospector Hotel and Gambling Hall. They're both a gem in north-central Nevada!

I saw it when I paid the bill and thought, okay there's paper plates and to go boxes. I get it. But in reality, there should be a discount because you don't get chips and salsa with to-go orders. Third, our dishes were packaged to go by squishing them between plates. Gross, plus we list done of our food because it stuck to the top plate. Fourth, the quality of food is severely lacking. The nacho chips are cheap, low quality tortillas that just aren't worth the calories. The top of the nachos initially apparent have a decent amount of topping, but the reality is that once the top chips were consumed, all that was left were the crumby naked chips and they weren't even crispy. The steak fajitas were "ok". But nothing great and the steak pieces were too large and difficult to chew. Next time we are in Ely, we'll try a different place.

The food was exactly as expected, and I can't imagine how breakfast could be much better than this anywhere else in town. It was certainly several levels above any chain hotel buffet of heated up, pre-prepared foods. Tip - when staying for the free breakfast take the option of applying five dollars off of any menu item instead of the free breakfast. It's pretty skimpy. We paid about $25 for a very nice breakfast this way. Give it a try, especially if you're staying in the hotel. There aren't a lot of other options in Ely.

I ate maybe half of it; I was really hungry but it was basically inedible. My husband liked his pizza, but then tried to order a second beer for 20 mins before anyone would come over. The waiter started clearing our table and saying he would bring us the check. I told him to wait, because I wanted a drink, too. The one drink he brought back was not what I ordered, it was a cheaper whiskey that I've had before. I walked up to the bar thinking an honest mistake at first, and said, hey I think a mistake was made here, this drink is not what I ordered. The female bartender gaslit me and swore she poured the right whiskey I had ordered herself. I asked her to remake it for me and watched her awkwardly try to find the bottle in the back row of the bar. She poured the new drink and it was an obviously darker color than the original. I just stared at her and walked away. I drank it quickly as my husband watched the whole interaction and wanted to leave. They didn't seem to want our business-- my husband never even got his 2nd beer. This time was no exception. The place was somewhat busy and I believe there was only one waitress. The atmosphere was noisy, the waitress was friendly and on top of it as she could be. The food was average and took a while to get. This being said it is Eureka NV with not many choices for places to work or eat so if you decide to stop in you will have to just grin and bare it.
