I called ahead for lunch to see if I needed a reservation for 1:30. I was told no reservation needed and seating would not be a problem. However when we arrived there was a private party being held taking up half the seating in the restaurant. We ended up sitting at the bar and fortunately Jordan the bartender was very attentive. I had the rice bowl with ahi tuna and my friend had the ahi tuna on a salad. Both dishes were very good. We also had espresso and lemon drop martinis. The drinks are potent! Stopped in with the hubby for lunch and they were serving brunch. We ordered the shrimp and grits but they were out of it. Hubby then ordered the short rib sandwich. He liked it a lot but said he felt something was missing. He liked the au jus type sauce that was on the side. He gave me a piece of his sandwich and I loved it lol. It was filled with meat! I could taste onions, horseradish etc. the sandwich was huge. I had the French toast and a side of chicken sausage. The sausage was excellent. The French toast was good too, the raspberry sauce was a nice flavor and not too sweet. The Chantilly crème didn't have much taste. The L'appropriee cocktail was good, not too sweet and tasted refreshing. After we ate I had a hot salted caramel cappuccino with oat milk, loved it. It was so creamy and a nice temperature. The bathroom are cute and the restaurant looked clean. The restaurant had two severs that seemed like they worked well together. I will go back to try the dinner. read more

We did a girls night out to celebrate a birthday- the cocktails and wine we had was awesome! We did the vegetable board- charcuterie board shrimp toast and shrimp grits and something else we tried I can't remember name! All food was awesome! For starters the appetizers are delicious, and they know their market well. The kitchen stays open later than most places nearby. Their atmosphere is classy, while also being comfortable. I needed to get some better food and better drinks and, let me tell you, Marietta Proper gave me just that. The gold and teal interior is elegant and gives this place an energy that cannot be replicated. My server, Carter, was extremely helpful. They gave me an excellent red wine recommendation and helped my husband pick a bourbon since they didn't have what he normally drinks. We loved the chicken skins and caviar! Had a lovely midday lunch break at Marietta Proper. Haley was our server and she was delightful and even got the manager to suggest wine pairing for my braised beef sandwich. Paired with a Pinot Noir but unfortunately forgot the name. My date got the veggie sandwich and she adored her meal as well. She wasn't drinking so paired it with a ginger beer.
