We had dinner at Modena on Friday night and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Even though the restaurant was full, we found two seats at the bar and ended up having one of the most enjoyable dinners we've had in a while. Charlotte, Charlie, and Harry took great care of us all evening. Their cocktail, wine, and food recommendations were spot-on, and it's clear they know their craft. The food was delicious, and the chocolate martinis were the perfect ending to the meal. The White Raspberry Chocolate was our favorite, but the Chocolate Hazelnut was a close second. We are new to the area and have noticed this restaurant is almost always busy. We tried it one evening and I have to say the food was really good. Nothing that would stand out as an all time great but everything was really tasty. Arrived on a Friday evening with no reservation. Hostess suggested sitting at the pizza bar area because the bar area was full. The server was nice and quick. He gave us water and warm bread right away. Even the server making pizza was super friendly and offered his service for help right away. Had the polpette Monza appetizer, it was okay but I didn't love it. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and penne all'Arrabbiata add chicken for entrees. The bolognese was really good, but the penne all'Arrabiatta with chicken was not good. The chicken was really bad and definitely made the dish worse. Food is superb! I have not had anything that I didn't like...minus anything with olives as I don't like them. The only olives I do like are the Castelvetrano olives. Anywho, the service is bar none exceptional! We came here on our first date and we continue to come back. Cocktails are yummy as well as the beer selection. The food was delicious and the service was pretty good. We sat outside because the inside was full, and with the umbrella and fan it wasn't too bad. The bread and olive oil for the table were very good, and when asked, we received more bread quickly. I was so excited that they have arancini without meat, but I didn't love them. I thought they could've used more risotto and less cheese. I was a little annoyed they came at the same time as my entree and not as an appetizer. Also for the price ($16), I was a little surprised it only came with 3. Overall there aren't a ton of vegetarian options, but luckily many of the specials were vegetarian. I tried one of the specials, which was heart-shaped cheese ravioli al forno (5 ravioli for $20). They were delicious, especially the pesto and the tomato sauce. I used the bread to soak up the sauces. One friend had the lobster ravioli which she really enjoyed but had some trouble getting the lobster out of the shell, and the other had the Pappardelle Bolognese which she said was really good but thought the noodle choice was kind of weird. Overall it was a good meal, and I understand this is a fancy Italian restaurant, but the prices are quite high. Went to the Modena restaurant on Barrett Parkway, last Friday. The traffic makes it a little hard to get into the parking lot if you're on the opposite side of the street. We had reservations for a party of four. We were seated right on time. Had appetizers of Bruschetta and Arancini. Both were good, the Arancini was excellent. We each had different entrees, Pappardelle Bolongnese, Rigatoni al Salsiccia & Pomodoro, Ravioli Aragosta and Mare e Monte (steak & lobster). Everyone enjoyed their entrees. The ravioli was outstanding. For dessert, we shared a Sumante Bomba, which was exceptional. Overall, our experience was excellent. This is my 3rd review of Modena and the best. We had impeccable service from start to finish. We originally sat inside but asked to move outside, as it was a bit noisy and my mom was struggling to hear (which I guess could be a negative but turned out so lovely). We were seated at a corner patio table. The patio is well done. It is cozy and inviting and enclosed in faux greenery wall. Weather was perfect. We shared bruschetta. My son had the lobster ravioli with shrimp and lobster tail. It was outstanding. I had the linguini and clams and the dish was delicious. I also had a limoncello spritz which was on point. I ordered online and waited in my car until I received the text message that my order was ready. When I went inside, the hostess first told me I hadn't paid (which I had), then went to check on my order and said it would be another five minutes. After waiting well past that time, I asked again, and she admitted she had accidentally given my order to another customer. I asked to speak with the manager, and while he apologized, he basically said there would be two upset customers today and offered no solution, no complimentary drink, dessert, or anything to make up for the mistake. When I finally got my food and brought it home, the portions were noticeably smaller than what I paid for. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. If you want a decent meal here, I would strongly recommend dining in, because it's clear they do not prioritize or properly handle online orders. read more

From the moment you open the door, the dining area is intimately lit, spacious seating, a kind host, and terrific wait staff. We had a reservation and were promptly seated with water for the table we could quench any thirsts prior to perusing the menu and seasonal menu. Our wait staff was excellent and provided us with information on the special (Surf & Turf) and brought us hot fresh bread and a unique blend of spices for dipping. We ordered apps and I must say, the apps came out quickly and were fantastic. Our party of seven had a variety of entrees including the surf & turf (where the shrimp received high praise as well as the steak), fettuccini Alfredo (with chicken) - it's on the secret menu, and a very light spinach, chicken, and sun-dried tomato pasta (I opted gluten free) in a light buttery sauce....so so so good! While the entrees are priced a bit steeper then I would expect ($34 for Chicken Alfredo), I can't say that I minded because the food, the service, and the entire dining experience made me wonder why Modena isn't talked about more! If you are in the Kennesaw, Dallas, Acworth, Woodstock, Marietta area - this is a NICE add to the community list of great restaurants to support monthly or on special occasions. Decided to go to Modena since my mom and sister were coming into town for my birthday. I was able to easily make reservations online and was excited because of how great the reviews were. The inside was super cute and inviting with dim lighting and not too loud of an atmosphere. The staff was all super friendly, our server Eric was fantastic- great help with any questions we had and very knowledgeable about the menu items. We were having trouble choosing just due to everything looking so delicious. We ended up all getting something different. I got the Toscana Mare and it was by far my favorite at the table and even my sister loved it. The shrimp and scallops in it were delicious and the grouper was falling apart- beautifully cooked. My sister got the Bosco(?) which was a cream sauce with mushrooms in it and really enjoyed it. My mom got the popular lobster ravioli. My mom almost never finishes her plate- she ate literally everything; she LOVED the dish. If you're wondering where are the pictures? Well everything smelled and looked so good we have devoured our plates before even remembering to take photos. We did get picture of dessert though- a birthday treat they brought out that was a chocolate cake, the three chocolate mouse and the patata dolce. All were divine. Additionally the bread they serve prior to dinner was delicious and nice and hot plus the olive oil and spices you dip it in were the best I've had at a restaurant! I give my experience 1Start! Although the waitress we had was nice, some of the food that came out was good. However my friend ordered a dish that was overcooked and the lady who claimed to be the Owner was so rude and told my friend that nothing was wrong with her food and so what if she didn't like it. She even threatened to call the police. That experience with that "owner" is what made my experience and my friends experience terrible. **A Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish** I regret ever stepping foot in this establishment. The level of unprofessionalism, from the owner down to the wait staff, was truly appalling. Basic etiquette seemed nonexistent. When I called to voice my concerns, management not only dismissed me but also hung up the phone--an astonishing display of disregard for customer service. At the end of the day, people dine out for two key reasons: good food and great service. Sadly, this place failed on both fronts. The food was mediocre at best, and the service--especially from the owner--was downright horrendous. It's no surprise the waitstaff showed little concern; when leadership sets a poor example, it trickles down. I will never return, and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone who values respect and quality. I didn't feel welcomed or appreciated! Maybe it was a hint that I had stepped back in time and needed to sit in the back of the bus! Since I can't reply on the bottom of owner's comments I'll remark here. Every word I wrote is true! We absolutely loved the mussels, my wife had the special lobster, steak Mare e Monti and I had the Risotto with scallops & shrimp. We are not big fans of risotto based on past restaurants experiences. Here the risotto was perfect! We were celebrating my wife's birthday and our server Madison was the BEST!
