Listen, this place is amazing and I've only been for breakfast and lunch. The best avocado toast I've had.Citrus rice bowl delicious, well seasoned and fresh. Probably the worst spot on the square aside from piastra and three roses. It's another case of people (the foxglove) thinking they can run any kind of business with no talent or actual love. It's a blatant money grab the square is experiencing. 45$ La Marca? Come on people; the food is terrible and the wine is sub par from a "wine place". Constantly changing hours; and couldn't even have the place finished by opening since they were probably hemorrhaging so much money they had to rush to open. Save your time and try the Marietta wine market a few doors down; they're a much better place to shop for wine and try a glass. Had the MOST amazing time for a girls night. We ordered EVERYTHING. Arancini of the moment, Bruschetta, wings, grilled shrimp, cauliflower bites, empanadas, ect. We were obsessed with it all. Went last evening. Had a 5 pm reservation. Got there at 4:53 and it was raining. Had to wait until it was just after 5:00 before they opend the door. I get this , but not a good start. Sat down and got water. Looked at the drink menu and there were 3 beers on it. No craft beers. Just cheap beer like Mich and Miller lite. It did list creature comforts, but they did not have it. Ugh. My wife asked the waitress about some of the cocktails, and the waitress was only 20 years old and have never drank any of them. my wife ordered a drink while our friends looked at the menu.At that point, we decided to leave and go to Silla Del Toro, where we knew we would get great service and great food and good craft beers. read more

This restaurant was understaffed. There was no one to greet us when we arrived. A waitress came by and eventually seated us at the bar. We got menus and water and no one took our orders. Meanwhile we got a front row seat to the disorganization. The bar tender ended up telling us he understood if we left because he was way behind on orders. We left after 20 minutes. First, let me say I emailed the restaurant before leaving a public review and they did not reply to me. The service was terrible at this restaurant. The food was pretty good - not great - but it took us 45 minutes to get our wine (our food was half eaten) and then they were out of the wine that we ordered from their menu. And then that happened again with our second bottle of wine. Also out of that one. For a so-called wine bar, that was subpar. The manager (I guess it was the manager because she seemed to be in charge) was rude and pulled our waitress away from our table when she spent just a moment chatting with us when I asked her about what she was studying. Just disappointed. I've been waiting for months for this spot to open up. We finally get in 3 days after opening, with a reservation (where you could only find out they had reservations or even a link to it via their story on Instagram) and waited 35 min past the reservation time to be seated and served. I get it's their first week opening but they should have factored in reservation times more appropriately and had more staff. They served complimentary cocktails to another couple who came after us, but not us. It also just seems way too exclusive for a bar setting; needing reservations for a bar? It would be nice to just walk up while on the square and grab a night cap in a pretty bar, but you cannot without a reservation. Also, the one wine I ordered was already out of stock the first 3 days being open so that's frustrating. You can't find menus online or any information unless you follow on social media which also deters people from coming. It's sad, I had high hopes. I hope it gets better once the kinks get worked through their opening. read more

Been eyeing this spot since it opened and finally had a chance to try it out with some girlfriends for brunch on Saturday. Ambiance is def cute and loved the decor. We ordered a Bloody Mary and mimosa and we were told that they didn't have the mix or the champagne they usually use for mimosas which kind of threw us off given that it was a weekend and only 11am. Service was not that great, had to follow up on our drinks, ask for more water and flag them down to take our food order after being there for an hour already. We ordered the breakfast plate, breakfast burrito and Marietta bowl. Food wasn't bad but I likely won't try this place again. read more

Really unfortunate experience here. The ambiance is lovely-very cool decorations. The food tastes great too. However, the service was not good, especially for the price of the food. The wait staff were doing their best, but the restaurant was unprepared for Sunday brunch. No chocolate croissant, no milk, no oat milk. It took over an hour for us to get our food. On top of that hour I waited for my avocado toast, they forgot my egg on the side. I then had to wait an additional 15 minutes for. Just staring at my food waiting. We were a large party of 9, but this was too much. I would not recommend for a large party, the price is not worth the value read more

I love Marietta Square, having owned a home within walking distance for the past fifteen years. And so I really wanted to love this place. It started off well. I ordered a cappuccino, French toast and bacon. Then I noticed fruit flies in the fruit bowl that came with the meal. I had to hail down the bartender as my waitress never returned to check on me. He replaced with another bowl of fruit that had, you guessed it, fruit flies. He took it back and I was given a ten percent discount. Manager never came by to apologize. I want to express how delighted my husband and I were to enjoy delicious cocktails and some wonderful food on the Square. The mushroom dumpling are savory and the fondue with the chips added just enough richness and spice to enjoy with our drinks. Dessert was homemade fruit compote over puff pastry with real whip cream. Not to sweet but fresh and delicious. Kat our waitress was attentive and offered fabulous suggestions. The manager came out to greet every customer with a warm smile and made a comfortable feel welcomed. We added Marietta Proper to to our list of one of our favorites when we visit Marietta. read more

Sooo yummy! I stopped in with some family from out of town Saturday night and the vibes were immaculate! So you can imagine my delight when I took my first bite of the Jerk Chicken Tostado... quite literally love at first bite! The flavors of mango and jerk were a perfect combination of sweet and spice. The chicken was tender, juicy and perfect balance to the crispy tostado. I'm not exaggerating this dish was a 10 out of 10. I cannot wait to come back and try more food items. This restaurant was really cute and we walked in so excited to try it! As soon as we were seated there was not great service. It took a little bit to even have the server come over at first and for the lady walking around with the water to even come over to us. The three of us each ordered a drink and then food as well. Everything took a longer time than expected but when they brought out the food they did not bring my salad and said it was "coming right out", I ended up waiting over 15 minutes after the other two meals had come out. When we did make a comment to the lady with the water she attempted to find our waitress who was nowhere to be found and it took another 10 minutes. A man finally brought out the salad which was literally just lettuce and cheese with the dressing on the side. No one apologized for the extreme wait time, our waitress said nothing and barely came over to our table after. This restaurant was very disappointing and no one acknowledged or apologized for the lack of service! read more

Last night was the 4th meal that my wife and I had at MP (with my son also). It was fabulous as were the 3 previous times! The food was delicious. The cocktails are meticulously prepared. The wine selection Is great. A small but important thing for me is that they serve their red wine slightly chilled. I hate a hot glass of red wine!!! The ambiance of the place is awesome! Warm and with that speakeasy feel that is very cool for the Marietta Square. The owner of MP, Jordan, served and engaged nearly every patron in the place. She made us feel welcomed and appreciated. We just had our first visit to Marietta Proper and it was a great experience. Jordan, the owner, is gracious and welcoming. Our server, Selen, was knowledgeable and very pleasant. The drink menu is full of unique craft cocktails and a well-curated selection of wines. We had two small plates, pork belly and spare ribs, which were great. We learned that they pair wines with the apps which we will pay attention to at our next visit. So glad to have this new option on our Marietta Square rotation. read more
