MFC was the best decision we've ever made! I have a very challenging case of diminished ovarian reserve and endometriosis, so we knew the journey would be difficult. Initially, we also considered Spring Fertility Center in SF due to many recommendations, but after our first visit with Dr. Joy Brotherton, we felt confident that MFC was the right place for us. Dr. Brotherton treated us as individuals, not just another case or a number for their statistics. She took the time to explain everything about IUI and IVF, enabling us to make informed decisions. Because I was running out of time, we decided to pursue IVF. Throughout the process, the entire team was incredibly supportive. Linda at the front desk, the administrative coordinator Maria (who handled all the insurance matters), and the nurses--Isabel, Ginger, Lia, Jennifer (and others)--were all so sweet and caring. I have very difficult veins to work with, and Isabel was always patient and approached it with a great sense of humor. I only interacted with Dr. Uzelac a few times, but he was kind and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Brotherton was exceptional--she always responded to my emails in less than 24 hours, and she was always open to hear my suggestions on the treatment, it felt like a two way conversation, this rare to find when dealing with doctors. And the clinic answered my calls promptly 95% of the time with immediate and helpful responses. In a long and stressful process like IVF, that level of communication is invaluable. After two egg retrievals, I am now living my miracle--pregnant with my first child. My only suggestion for improvement would be regarding Prya, the first insurance coordinator I interacted with. Unfortunately, she was rude and made me feel like I was a burden. However, after I brought this to the clinic's attention, they reassigned my case to Maria, who was wonderful and handled everything perfectly. Overall, I am so thankful we chose MFC. My wife and I went through a (30+K) round at Marin Fertility Center (MFC) without results. We met with both Dr. Uzelac and Dr. Brotherton. From the beginning the vibe was tense in the office, everyone seemed a bit stressed, even the front desk wasn't very friendly. The kind of tension the comes from the top down to employees (we later heard this is in fact the case). We later learned good friends of ours had also paid high dollars for no results and felt the weird vibe we felt. Dr Brotheron was nice, if I was to bet, she'll move on. We did and got pregnant. We found a clinic with a warm vibe that does much deeper genetic tests and had much better reviews. Reviews matter. Most couples have one shot at this, choose wisely. read more

We went for a very expensive consultation regarding IVF. We expected that we were paying that premium for an ObGyn with a Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility Fellowship. It's a 3 year fellowship. It turns out the ObGyn we saw, Dr Brotherton, didn't do a fellowship in reproductive endocrinology which makes it very misleading to work in an IVF clinic. They answered every single phone call (yes, every single one), and made us feel heard, respected, and supported through every step of the process. What truly sets this clinic apart is how empowering and human the experience is. I always felt like I had full autonomy in every decision, never pressured--just guided with compassion and expertise. I've been very hesitant on posting a review for this clinic. as a woman dealing with infidelity, I feel that I have to share my story to help others. When I finally made an appointment, I felt there was no compassion at all. The front desk person was rude and felt like she was annoyed with me asking questions. All she wants is the money for the appointment. When I finally had my appointment Dr. peter uzelac was rude and judgmental. he was forcing me to do IVF without even trying IUI all he was saying was you're too old to iui (i was34) I felt he only wanted my money reason why he was forcing me to do IVF. He has no bedside manner and has no compassion for women who are going through infertility I believe he should not be in this field if he is treating people mostly women as money sign. I would not recommend him to my worst enemy. I am so glad I Choose to get a second opinion (Kaiser Permanente fertility clinic in San Francisco). I was able to conceive with my first round of IUI and I did not need IVF. Now I have a beautiful little girl. So Dr. Uzelac was wrong I was able to do iui and conceived. If you have a choice to go to any other clinics, I would not waste your money and time and your mental health with Dr. Uzelac or MFC I hope Dr. Uzelax learn to be compassionate for his patience and not see them has a money sign. read more

I am so grateful to have found and recently worked with Marin Fertility Center. I worked primarily with Dr Brotherton and she is a breath of fresh air! She is realistic, down to earth, and doesn't make you feel like you're just another page in her notebook but rather a person who is heard and understood. She is gentle, thorough/good at her job, and clearly sets the expectation from the get go which I appreciated. After Dr Brotherton, I worked very closely with Isabelle who is an angel on earth! I have a lot of medical trauma and Isabelle was calming and reassuring - yet realistic, throughout the entire process. She never made me feel like I was bothering her with my worry and for that I am so grateful! I also had the pleasure of working with Ginger a couple of times and I spoke with Linda several times. Both Ginger and Linda were kind and helpful - whether it was a Friday refill or getting the right documents for submission to work/insurance. I met Dr Uzelac the day of my procedure and he was also fantastic. My procedure was quick and easy, and he walked me through what would be happening before. We went through two egg retrievals and one frozen embryo transfer with Marin Fertility, and I recommend them without hesitation. The doctors and nurses were all very caring and kind. Marin Fertility has been my second home for 3-4 years now, having done many many many rounds due to first percentile ovarian reserves in my early 30's. I can't recommend their team highly enough - particularly for busy, professional women who in all likelihood will need more than a single round. Dr. Uzelac is knowledgeable, direct, and optimistic - but very grounded in reality. He doesn't sugarcoat, but he's more than willing to go slow and explain (my husband has appreciated this!) Dr. Brotherton is new to the practice and is just amazing. It was a treat to be her patient; she is equally generous with her time, experience, counsel. Equally important is she's a surgeon...should you be unfortunate enough to need a D&C for a miscarriage, she can perform these (vs. having the pain of needing to do intake with another practice, etc. before you can get the procedure) Blood labs and embryologist are in-house Linda at the front desk will schedule you efficiently and kindly Lia and Isabel as the two cycle coordinators are amazing - you will be in good hands. Dr. Uzelac is a gem of a physician. Thank you so much for taking the time to help me Dr. Uzelac. Here is a quick background on my situation. My only daughter is experiencing fertility challenges and she asked me to help her find the best fertility doctor in the SF/Bay area. When it comes to my children, I'm a very involved parent. So, I wanted to understand the most up to date options available when dealing with infertility. I did a lot research and narrowed it down to two top fertility doctors in Northern California. Both Drs. had impressive credentials, but Dr. Uzelac stood out from the other physician. He listened to my concerns and answered all my questions, he took his time to make sure I understood all the medical terms and procedures. He was empathetic to my daughter's particular situation and very respectful towards me as her mother. At the end of our conversation, he jokingly told me "today you got a crash course in In Vitro Fertilization" and he was right, I walked away from our telephone conversation feeling much better about my daughter's options and understanding her journey ahead. I'm grateful I found Dr. Uzelac because as a mom it's a relief to know my daughter will be getting the best medical care possible and increasing her chances to give me a grand baby! read more

I very rarely leave reviews, and I have waited a while to write this one. I'm not a fan of disparaging someone's business but after much thought and moving to another office and experiencing such amazing care I felt it important for women to read my experience and make a choice for themselves as going through infertility is a very sensitive and hard thing- patients deserve nothing short of support, genuine kindness and care during their journey. And what I will say is if that's what you're looking for Marin Fertility is not the place for you. 1) I used to get anxiety when I had to call. Linda at the front desk is probably one of the worst customer care humans I have ever encountered in the health care industry. Trust me when I say she does not care one bit about you, and she doesn't even try to hide it. I used to work at an Oral Surgery Office and the front desk person and person answering your phones is the first and last impression left on patients. I would highly recommend evaluating and implementing some change in this area. It would have probably saved me honestly from feeling as negative as I do. 2) Who is Dr.Uzelac? I honestly have no idea. I went through 1 medicated cycle, and 4 failed IUIs and never saw the guy once. Maybe during my very very first consult but I honestly can't remember. You won't be receiving care from him directly nor will he be showing face- at least if you're doing IUI. 3) Dr. Kirsten and Joy are nice enough- certainly not rude, but certainly make no effort to make you feel comfortable and supported. I felt no genuine care from either of them. Joy performed 3 out of 4 of my IUI's I believe, you'd think she'd remember me. Or at the very least read my chart and see she's seen me and pretend to. Every time I saw her she acted like it was the first time and told me the same thing like it was a script "okay this is when I like to think of finding Nemo just keep swimming!" And I heard the story of how one of her patients named baby foxes after her and an assistant 3 times. Just makes the experience feel extremely impersonal- when fertility is very personal. Everyone is different, everyone feels and handles it different and even more important everyone's body and cause is different. 4) My husband and I have fantastic fertility insurance, they "bundle" their IVF care together and make notes that because they "bundle" them together it's not an actual medical code, so in turn you must acknowledge that you cannot bill your insurance for the treatment my quote was $25k and would be closer to $30k I imagine as it didn't include meds or anesthesia and I don't think it included all the lab fees. I ended up going to Reproductive Science Center and had IVF and I'm pregnant now- we only paid just under $10k. That's a huge difference. Not only that they were insanely kind, caring and compassionate at every single level- I did not encounter one unfriendly person. 5) I also have 4 friends who have gone here and had the same experience and things to say- what are the odds this is just a councidence of a single disgruntled patient? 1 had failed IVF and went elsewhere, one did IUI and got pregnant but also didn't care for their client service, 1 just called to make and appt and talked to Linda and immediately canceled and is going to RSC now, another went for a consult and had a similar experience I've described. Infertility isn't a joke and shouldn't be taken lightly, and if you're in the business of it you should recognize that and treat your patients accordingly. I would not recommend Marin Fertility unfortunately. read more

They worked really hard to get my insurance to cover all eligible items, they listened to me during appointments and answered all my questions and customized the care plan based on my preferences, insurance coverage, and even my own awareness of my body, and they worked with me to find creative solutions with a variety of care logistics. These things should all be standard, but they are so rare these days. And I got to experience this exceptional care at Marin Fertility! My husband and I highly recommend Marin Fertility Center. During 2022, we did two unsuccessful IUIs and in 2023, we did an egg retrieval coupled with IVF and a successful frozen embryo transfer (FET). From the beginning, the doctors were very clear about each process and put it into our terms. They educated us about the medications, any tools that would used, insurance coordination, risks involved, etc. Or, they connected me with the team member who could assist me. During the IVF process, the entire team is crucial. For so much of the time, we worked with the admin and lab coordinators. Each were patient, friendly, and knowledgeable. The team at MFC is on the top of their game! That being said, Dr. U, Dr. Brotherton and K. Eckert, WHNP were accessible and communicative when I had additional needs. They, like their team members, were responsive when I sent messages or needed a phone call. The entire team never made me feel like my question or concern was invalid; there are no dumb questions. And I had many questions. The doctors and lab coordinators showed kindness and empathy throughout our experience. They understand this is a delicate and emotional experience. I truly felt their happiness for us and our success. For anyone reading this and experiencing infertility, you are not alone and it *sucks*. Sometimes there is no reason and it is not your fault. I'm sure you have read this or been told this before. MFC knows this to their core and they are here to help. The team will do their best to provide the right plan for you by educating and assisting about options to make your decisions. I am happy to be updating my initial review- Dr. Uzelac still has the magic touch. My spouse and I just added two new healthy members to our family with the delivery of our twins a month and a half ago. Although it had been nearly three years since our initial visits to Marin we found the staff to be just as amazing as before. They have some new members to their team including a new obgyn Dr. Brotherton who is phenomenal. We will forever think fondly of her and remember how it was she who told us we were having twins. The incredible staff was just as compassionate, kind, and helpful as before. To think there was a period of time where we doubted whether we would ever have a family of our own and now we have three beautiful children is so amazing. We owe a great deal to this fertility clinic and we hope that every staff member in the practice knows just how amazing they are as they make dreams come true. My husband and I have been under the care of MFC since September 2023. We had been trying for a baby for several years and in that time became foster parents in hopes of adopting our forever child. After many heartbreaks, we decided to try IUI. We knew the chances are slim for IUI and I am almost 40, so chances are even slimmer. We limited ourselves to three tries with IUi. When we saw Dr. Joy, her confidence and wealth of information helped us to make many informed decisions on our IUI journey. We got unbelievably lucky on our second round and are currently pregnant with our September 2024 baby! We realize we are very lucky and this outcome doesnt happen for everyone. Greetings Guys! So, Dr. U CALLED ME AFTER READING MY LAST UPDATE!! Wow... Actually Confirmed that he Cares! Which felt great... When he emailed me about us talking I figured it was about my Feedback on the Yelp review. (I was kind of nervous, but confident in my truth & the FACTS about my 1st Cycle). It also was important to me to voice my reflections While I'm Still a patient. Dont wait until you leave to give a review. I wanted an opportunity for them to show better patient care & the Personal Call from him did that. I know not all doctors would give the extra. He apologized for the things that should have been better, walked me through my options (staying with Marin or choosing a different clinic) & said, " his preference is that we stay". It just made the World of difference. All any person or family wants to know is their Doctors CARE & see them not as a number but a special entity. My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Uzelac and the entire Marin Fertility Center team! When I first came to Marin Fertility, I was coming from a much larger facility (prefer not to name) where I felt like a number. At my first consult with Marin Fertility, I knew they were different. From the very beginning, I felt like my treatment was customized to me. The level of customer service, professionalism, and bedside manner portrayed by Dr. Uzelac and his entire team was amazing and was exactly what we needed while going through something like infertility. Dr. Uzelac is a great doctor. He provided clear information and always was quick to email back and communicate all the next steps. He was a perfect balance of "to-the-point" and very kind. In the beginning, I was hesitant to have a male doctor since I had never had one before (I know sounds like a silly concern now), but it was never an issue for me when I met Dr. Uzelac. He was very professional and made me feel very comfortable in his care. On top of that, every member of the nursing staff (NPs, medical assistants, nurses) were incredibly professional and personable. They were always organized and kind. They were good at their jobs and knew what they were doing! The larger facility I went to before Marin Fertility had me on a treatment plan to do six rounds of Femara/trying naturally followed by Femara/IUI then IVF if all that didn't work. I was told that this was the "standard treatment plan" for their facility for anovulation and PCOS. Because they closed due to COVID, we researched other facilities and transferred to Marin Fertility. Dr. Uzelac's treatment plan for me was to go straight to IUI due to my PCOS. I was grateful for a more aggressive treatment plan, as the odds for success were greater each month. Additionally, I felt like the plan was more tailored to my body, and my treatment needs than my previous treatment plan. The strengths of Marin Fertility lie in the fact that it is a smaller, boutique-style fertility clinic, but with all the resources of a larger fertility center. They have their own in-house lab and embryologist as well as an adequately-sized highly trained staff. Linda, at the front desk, is wonderful. When I first talked with her on the phone to schedule our consultation, I knew I would be taken care of at Marin Fertility. She's incredibly organized and friendly. In addition to the technology and staff, one of the big strengths of Marin Fertility is their reasonable prices. While fertility procedures aren't cheap, we found Marin Fertility to have very fair prices in comparison to some of the other fertility centers in the Bay Area. We spent roughly $5500 at Marin Fertility Center over the course of several months, which included all visits (including 2 IUI procedures), ultrasounds, injections, prescriptions, blood draw for genetic screening, etc. I felt that it was incredibly reasonable compared to friends I had talked to who went to other clinics both in and out of state. On top of that, we are getting two babies from our second IUI treatment! All I can say is: go to Marin Fertility. You will feel like you are in great hands! I felt so overwhelmed while researching all of the Bay Area fertility centers- there are so many with good reviews. I am so happy that my husband and I picked Marin Fertility! read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I am writing this with tears in my eyes as I have endured two weeks of stress and anxiety because of Dr. Jennifer Agard and the MFC receptionist, Linda. 1. Scheduling: The problems began immediately when I received a call a week after booking my appointment saying the receptionist on duty double booked me and the Doctor wouldn't be able to see me until 2pm instead of my initial 10am appointment. I am flexible so this wouldn't have been a problem, however, my husband works in the city and had taken the morning off work to attend the appointment with me. He wasn't able to reschedule his meetings last minute so I had to go to the appointment alone. 2. Bedside Manner: Dr. Agard's bedside manner is terrible. She is condescending, brash, and downright hurtful. Her face said it all when she was performing my ultrasound, and instead of being kind and explaining what was going on, she was very curt and arrogant in her reactions and responses to my questions. After my ultrasound she said, "this doesn't look good" and asked me to get dressed and to meet her in her office. I kept trying to explain the symptoms I had been experiencing, but she didn't want to hear anything from me about my body and it seemed as though she just wanted to hear herself spew medical terms at me. I understand she is the professional and I greatly respect a specialists' opinion, however, she should be open to listening to someone's symptoms and receiving the full picture in order to give the patient the best care possible. 3. Differing Opinions: I recently moved to the Bay Area from Washington, DC and at the time of my appointment with Dr. Agard, I had received different opinions from two OBGYNs. One OB thought I was ovulating normally and having chemical pregnancies. The other OB thought I was anovulatory. I wanted to hear Dr. Agard's opinion so I showed her three pregnancy tests I had taken and let her know my former OB in DC thought I was having chemical pregnancies since I would get faint positives and traces of HCG in my blood tests, but the line would never get darker and the HCG would never rise. After looking at the tests, Dr. Agard laughed and said, "sweetie, these are negative". I understand there should be a dark second line on a strong positive pregnancy test, however, the instructions on the box itself say a line is a line. I was getting faint lines on multiple tests on different days from different boxes and different companies. I know the difference between a control line and a faint line. Even if her opinion is that they are negative, she should be kind to someone who is struggling and has received varying opinions. 3. Compassion: After spewing medical terms at me for almost 30 minutes, and telling me I had only a 5% chance of conceiving naturally, I was in shock and didn't know how to react. My husband was on speaker phone asking questions and Dr. Agard kept saying it would be easier for him to understand what she was saying if he was there with us in person. We reminded her that he was supposed to be there, but her office had double booked us and moved our appointment to a time when he could not attend. She kept saying was how terrible my levels are for a 29 year old and that I will most likely never have my own children. Again, I understand this is her professional opinion, but with something so sensitive I would hope she would give us ALL of our options... can we try IVF? What are the chances? When Dr. Agard was wrapping up, she came over to hug me me and said, "You handled this well. Go home and have a good cry." 4. Lab Results: This is where it gets negligent. After my appointment, I went to Quest to get the labs done that Dr. Agard ordered for me. I went in on 8/29 and was told my results would be back on 9/3. Anxious over my results, I called MFC (Linda) at the end of the day on 9/3 and asked why I hadn't heard from Dr. Agard. She apologized and said the labs hadn't come in yet. I didn't hear from Dr. Agard on 9/4 so I called again and got the same spiel. Still anxious, I call on 9/5 and ask Linda if she could please get in touch with Quest to see what was going on. She never calls me back. On Friday, 9/6 my mom calls Linda and is very stern about how negligent this is. Linda is overly apologetic to my mom and tells her they DO have some of my results but the doctor hasn't reviewed them. My mom tells them I have another appointment on Monday and need my results. Linda sends a medical release and promises the results will be emailed to us on Monday morning. Monday comes and I don't have the results. I call and get connected to the nurse, Casey, who tells me they have had the results since 9/4! At this point I'm in tears. Casey was apologetic and understanding of my frustration and emails me the results they have and tells me they are waiting on one test. If you want reliable care stay away. I will never go back to MFC. I've requested that any remaining tests be sent directly to my new Doctor. read more

I just got off the phone with Jessica at Marin Fertility and her friendly voice and help reminded me that I never wrote this much deserved review. First of all, my husband Andy and I are over the moon still excited to be pregnant at 21 weeks. All because of Marin Fertility, Dr. Agard, Isabelle (who is beyond wonderful!!!!!!), Lia, Caitlin, Linda and the many more gals who work with them. Our journey is a long one. 39 years old, 5 years infertility, 2 fertility clinics (one I would never recommend) not including IUI's at Kaiser, Andy and testicular cancer, 3 egg retreivals, 13 Embryos transferred, countless injections and procedures, two miscarriages and finally pregnant on our very last try. Dr Agard was incredibly kind, real, personable, educated, positive and just as hopeful as we were! She listened to me, she studied my history and helped me with big decisions. Lets just talk about the Egg Retrieval Process! Unlike my last two Egg Retrievals... In my last experience with another clinic I felt rushed out of the office after surgery. With Agard and Caitlin, they checked on me, and sat with me for an hour just to make sure everything was okay. They gave me juice, snacks, dimmed the lights and had music on. I was so shocked because they spent the time with me. I'm used to being booted! Transfer Day! I was so appreciative about the care they took with my egg retrievals. They were so careful and professional. You get to see your embryo live on the big screen before they insert into the catheter. You also get to watch the transfer. My last clinic didn't do half of the things Agards office did! It was amazing. Also, I was under anesthesia during transfers at my last clinic because my doctor couldn't navigate my cervix. Agard did a test run, mapped it out, and had no issues with the 2 transfer we did with her! Amazing confidence! Pregnancy test day... the entire team was confident and positive! They all shared the same excitement that Andy and I did! It was positive and Agard had zero doubt that we would have this baby! All the things above mattered to us! I've had a really nice experience with Marin Fertility. The process from egg retrieval to embryo transfer has been very smooth. The staff is warm, efficient, friendly, and accommodating. I didn't get as much face to face contact with Dr. Uzelac as I did with the nursing staff, but I was okay with that and I expected that. Dr listened when I did have questions for him. In terms of success, well I just had my first ever embryo transfer 4 days ago. I know I shouldn't have tested early but I felt very nauseous this morning and decided to test and it came out positive! so let's pray my embryos continue to stick. I don't know where to begin. We did our homework and looked around for the right IVF clinic both here in the Bay Area and abroad. In short order regardless of the cost savings (convenience and safety), we decided to stick to the Bay Area. We paid for a consultation at CCRM, Kaiser REI, and even had a phone consultation with the "egg whisperer" medical staff in San Ramon. Kaiser REI wait times were absurd so we immediately passed them up after they told us we had to wait 5 to 6 months. I wish they had stated that prior to the consultation. CCRM (San Mateo) the cost was just ridiculous especially since we wanted to do PGS. The total cost of upwards of 40K plus per cycle. Also, we were not impressed with the attention received. It was rush rush and not even an ultrasound with our consultation. We quickly figured out this place was not for us. We got nowhere with the egg whisperer. Their initial consultation would have been almost double the price. Marine Fertility. We are so grateful to the entire team. Our experience here was superb and continues to be. We are pregnant as we speak going on 9 weeks. They treat you with respect; compassion and they actually listen to you. Very detailed oriented, very informative and methodical every step of the way. Understanding your entire medical history and picking it up from the beginning and getting it right was clearly very important for us. From the beginning, Dr. Agard explained the whole process. Always greeting both my wife and me with a smile. We worked with Lia and Isabel (RNs) to who are very detailed oriented as well, always following up with marching orders, prescriptions, etc. We love Linda as well:). Very nice sweet lady. When she tells you she will follow up, she will! After many losses, we really needed to understand why. I can go on and on (very long and technical). Executive summary: I received excellent, personalized care at Marin Fertility and would recommend to anyone dealing with fertility challenges. Here are the details: 1) Dr. Uzelac: Dr. Uzelac genuinely cares about his patients, and was always straightforward and honest. I had a very difficult and relatively rare condition (Asherman's syndrome). Dr. Uzelac diagnosed the condition correctly, after I was brushed off by Prima Medical Group OB/GYNs. Given the highly specialized nature of the surgery, Dr. Uzelac was upfront that I would be best served seeing a specialist, and helped refer me to one of the best surgeons in the country (in my opinion, the best Doctor's DO NOT claim to be experts in everything, and know when to refer). He managed my post-operative care and monitoring for proof of cure. As it took several surgeries to treat my condition, I had numerous visits with Dr. Uzelac and he always paid the utmost attention to my comfort (offering to bring in an anesthesiologist if needed for some of the more uncomfortable follow up care), and was very easily accessible for questions. He also screened for any other fertility concerns while we were going through surgery, but never recommended unnecessary testing or procedures. 2) Nursing Staff: I never had to re-explain my condition or where I was in treatment, all the nurses did a great job of keeping up with my case and being on top of it when I called the nursing line or came in for appointments. Most importantly, everyone is incredibly caring and empathetic, which means a lot when you are in the thick of it and are already pretty delicate. Given the boutique nature of the practice, I never felt like I was just another anonymous patient they were pushing through, and felt like the entire team was invested in my success. 3) Administration / Billing: Linda, who runs the front desk, is extremely organized and kind. I never had a problem booking an appointment that worked with my schedule, and had to send along records to multiple surgeons and she was always super responsive and helpful. The billing department was similarly easy to work with on any questions that came up. I was fortunate to have insurance cover the majority of my care, but even without that, their market rates are competitive. We were fortunate to not need to pursue IVF, but the array of customized IVF options they had were impressive and from what I could tell very cost competitive. read more

After three years of infertility, we are finally pregnant! We could not be more grateful for Dr. Uzelac and his amazing team at Marin Fertility. Dr. U is patient, kind, informative, and cares about each of his patients as individuals. He came up with a protocol that was tailored to my exact needs and I truly think that's what made all the difference for us. He listened to all of my many questions and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. Dr. U offers a straightforward approach which I appreciated so much, as the world of IVF can be overwhelming with all the information that is available. It was evident that Dr. U genuinely cares about the success of each of his patients- I knew he wanted us to succeed just as much as we did. When we found out we were finally pregnant, Dr. Uzelac FaceTimed us to celebrate the good news, which was really special! He also is very data-driven which I loved. I felt like he was very "in the know" and current with his practice which can be hard to come by with other fertility clinics. Dr. Uzelac's team at MFC is unparalleled. From everyone in the administrative team to the front desk, to the IVF coordinators and embryologists, I was blown away by their compassion and expertise. Linda at the front desk is an absolute angel and makes every visit something I look forward to. Lia and Isabel (the cycle coordinators/medical assistants) are so well-versed in their field and were my biggest cheerleaders throughout this process. They were always so supportive and held my hand through every procedure. Even the embryologists (Pam and Xiaomin) took time to call us directly whenever we had questions and were always so kind. They are truly the best there is which is so important when it comes to IVF. The nurse practitioner, Kirsten is also so wonderful and is a wealth of knowledge- she made it so easy to come in for last minute appointments and even stayed late for us numerous times so that we could get in for a later appointments. We truly can't thank Dr. U and the MFC team enough for going beyond our expectations throughout this process. We are of course so happy with our outcome but would never have been able to get through all of the difficult moments without this team. Thank you SO much for making our dreams come true! read more

I wish I could give more stars! We saw Dr. Agard at Marin Fertility Clinic for a handful of years while she helped us navigate the fertility journey. Spoiler alert: we now have a beautiful, healthy baby girl and we owe it all to our fabulous team at MFC. Dr Agard and the entire team were super encouraging and knowledgeable. They made us feel so supported through our many IUIs and through the IVF process. If we had any questions, they never made us feel like they were silly questions. We were always happy with the response time when we asked questions and the timeliness of communication on various other matters throughout the process. We couldn't have asked for a better team. I am upset to see that there are at least three 5 star reviews that are filtered: Why?! I am in the beginning stages of treatment with Dr. U and his fantastic crew. I am continually impressed at the personalized approach and dedication of this group. Everyone is very warm and welcoming. I was concerned that my low AMH would be a deal-breaker, but that was taken in stride. Dr. U was honest with me about the percentages, and up-front about the fact that I needed to be aggressive. I respect that. In my previous IF experience at other clinics, routine visits and testing were always overseen by a nurse, or your doctor would change from visit to visit. I always felt like a number, or an object on a conveyor belt. In contrast, I have seen Dr. U every time I visited, and he has always been very patient with me and makes sure I know exactly what is going on. And I was blown away when he called me personally to set up an appointment- calling from his home, on a Saturday night. That's practically unheard of. The staff also goes the extra mile- there's a lot of paperwork and back-and-forth that go along with this process, and I am (regrettably) not the world's most organized person. Judi and Kieawnie have been instrumental in making sure I have everything together that I need, and are super-quick about getting back to you to answer questions or address concerns. FYI, I believe they now do in-office procedures at the clinic, as opposed to Pacific Fertility. Hopefully, I will be able to update this with some good news soon, but I'd like to say that in the meantime, I am so glad that we chose MFC in our efforts to make our dream of becoming parents into a reality. I had a very long review written detailing my experience and how I was disappointed with my experience here, but I've decided to keep it simple. In my opinion/experience, Dr. Agard has very poor bedside manner and doesn't personalize her approach. My ultrasound appointments with her were ~ 5 minutes long where she didn't ask me to get dressed and come back into her office so I could ask questions, she just let me lie there with my legs in the air and seemed in a rush as she half heartedly answered my questions. I usually felt dumb for asking them in the first place. The fertility approach she used on me felt like a "fertility plan in a box." It didn't seem specialized toward me at all. One visit to another RE confirmed that suspicion when I was told what was likely causing my infertility, and I was given a personalized plan to help TIC/IUI have a better chance of working. I was also given inaccurate information about my genetic test results that made me stress for 24 hours before I could speak to a genetic counselor who confirmed that what she said was not accurate. I had to do a trigger shot and I was given no direction on how to do it. I actually sell a subcutaneous product for my job, so I thankfully had a good idea of what to do, but I still had to watch about 3 YouTube videos to make sure I did it right. The doctors I work with would never allow a patient to do a subcutaneous injection without first providing them instruction, so this really surprised me. I'm sure Dr. Agard has brought success to many of her patients, but in my case, and I assume many others who seek care from a RE, my journey trying to conceive has been a long emotional rollercoaster, and I was looking for someone who could take more than 5 minutes to reassure me that we had a good plan in place, and take time to answer my questions when there is no one else in the waiting room. It just really surprises me that there are RE out there who don't understand that half of what women having trouble with fertility need is to feel heard, for someone to sympathize with the pain they're feeling, a source of positivity, and sound explanations for why something is or is not recommended. I only spent a short time with Dr. Agard, so this isn't a rant just because I'm not pregnant yet, it's just my experience. read more

I've seen Dr. Jennifer Agard for a few months now as we decided it was NOW time to start family planning. Being that I'm 35 and considered 'high risk,' we wanted to see a fertility specialist as we know these things can take time, and we were lacking patience and really wanted to jump start the process as quickly & naturally as possible. Dr. Agard and the entire staff including Cindy, Cori and Dr. Uzelac, have really been patient and helpful all my concerns, emails, random thoughts and obscure "I read this on the internet," questions. It's been nothing but a pleasant experience all around. Event when I had one situation where I was pretty confused on a billing issue, they were very patient, kind and professional in explaining everything to me. It's about time I wrote this review, I'v been a patient of Dr. Uzelac's for about 2 years now (maybe more???) I have nothing but good things to say about this place and these people. Starting with Dr. Uzelac, he's a total brain and is very good at what he does and I'm pretty sure works 24/7 so he doesn't have the personality of a cheer leader- he's a little more of a quiet, reserved man but always kind and always focused. He will call you back any time of the day, has answered e-mails with my countless questions I have regarding research I'v done, etc.... And most importantly has really helped my endo symptoms, did my surgery and has just been the first dr. to actually help me feel better. I can't tell you how many oBGYN's told me "this is normal, periods are painful, nothings wrong with you". Had I had a dr. properly diagnose me I probably wouldn't be in this situation today. As for the rest of the staff and the facility itself, all great. Tina, Jaime, jennifer, Judy (and the other ladies) have always been nothing but nice and helpful. Even the anesthesiologists that come in for the retrievals are super nice! I'm a little surprised by a negative review on here because I have never ever been treated badly and have never felt any type of pressure when it comes to any financial situations etc...Besides having to commute through the annoying parking lot that is highway 37, I always look forward to my appointments and interactions with the staff here. I do not recommend this clinic for egg freezing. Most of their expertise and resources are directed to infertile couples desperate to have a baby NOW. I'm not that person and I was mislead by the clinic's website. Egg freezing is a very small portion of their practice and mid way through my cycle package they changed their terms to only holding frozen eggs for 5 years after which they require you to move them off site. I would never have used their clinic if I had known that. I wanted my frozen eggs moved as little as possible. What's worse than that is Dr. Uzelac's bizarre, abrupt and erratic disposition toward me during my last cycle. First , however I will say some positive comments which are directed solely to his ancillary staff and Dr. Agard. The staff changed at least 2 or 3 times during my 6 cycle package. However, all staff I ever encountered were incredibly nice, professional and efficient. I found Dr. Agard to be very knowledgeable and personable. I did get a fair amount of eggs but I have not used them yet so I can not comment on their viability. I have no idea why the entire staff changed so much and during my last cycle I asked Dr. Uzelac about it. He lashed out at me and became verbally abusive and cruel. He literally flipped into a monster! I was late to the appointment. I couldn't help it. I didn't do it intentionally. I was staying over 2 hrs away and the traffic was horrible. Maybe that is why he lashed out at me. I don't know but it was incredibly inappropriate to talk to a patient in that way. All I did was ask a couple of questions about hormones fsh and lh and the fires in the area. After I asked these questions during my exam he told me to get dressed and he would come back in the room to discuss more. He came back with a nurse and then proceeded to tell me that I am "not on the team" and I "lack trust" and "need to get it together." He also insinuated I had a psychiatric problem solely because I have anxiety about taking a bunch of hormones. At this point, I felt very uncomfortable because I didn't do anything wrong. I believe he interpreted my questions as attacks on his expertise and then proceeded to verbally attack and insult me in retaliation. I couldn't go further with the appointment and started to cry. I asked if I could finish this cycle with Dr. Agard and he said "No." So I told him I did not want to continue, did not want him near me for any kind of exam and wanted a refund for my last cycle. I was very upset at this point and he left the room and the nurse and front desk lady came in to try to calm me down. I told them I wanted my eggs out of there, I was going to post a public review and wanted a refund for my last cycle. I had to pay hundreds of dollars to get my eggs transferred to a storage facility and I could not get my refund unless I signed a "refund agreement." Basically I had to agree not to post anything publicly about the incident in order to get my refund. I do not know how legal this type of agreement would be and I never signed it. I will be forwarding it to the California Medical Board. I lost thousand of dollars in order to post here. That is how important it was to me to post this review. To close, if anyone needs "therapy" it is Dr. Uzelac. Patients are going to ask all kinds of questions especially if they will shooting up themselves with massive doses of hormones. I think he has ego issues and sees judgement and insult when there is none. He went to a caribbean medical school so maybe he is self conscious about that. I was not late on purpose and I think my questions were reasonable. How can a patient have "trust" if they can't feel comfortable asking a question. read more

MFC was wonderful excellent, from phase 1 of consultation, reviewing insurance - not an easy feat! - all the way through to getting pregnant with our first child. The staff, nurses and nurse practitioners and doctors were attentive, detailed, and had a great balance of positive encouragement, suggested tips and overall realistic outcomes. We are 15 weeks along and could not recommend a better fertility center where everyone knows your name and you look forward to your daily visits.
