Best Buy, Outback Steak House, $1 Store, etc.). It's amazing which businesses have survived (eg CVS, Ross Dress For Less, Panda Express, Massage Envy, etc.). Pros: - Convenient location just off the freeway (and minutes from my house). - Plenty of free parking. - They now have a Target store. Cons: - Aside from Target and Ross, there really aren't any anchor stores to draw in customers. If they were lucky enough to open a Trader Joe's here, it would be a whole new ball game. Even a movie theater might drive more traffic. - Limited restaurant options. It's mostly cheap fast food (Burger King, Panda Express, Subway, Starbucks). They do have a BBQ N Curry restaurant that's pretty decent. - Very little outdoor seating. In fact, the entire landscaping could benefit from a cosmetic make-over. As it stands now, there's no real reason to hang out here. Like I said, I'm hoping the property owners can give the area a little more TLC. Until they bring in some interesting, new businesses, this shopping center is going to remain an empty lot.

Strawberry Village has been my one-stop shopping center during Covid. Why? Because it has…read moreeverything I need: a grocery store/pharmacy, coffee (not just 1, but 2 Starbucks locations), a bagel house; and plenty of family-friendly dining options (Harmony Restaurant, Thep Lela, Pizza Antica, Whisk + Skillet, etc.). They also have more fast casual spots for a quick meal to go, such as In 'N Out Burger, High Tech Burrito, and Parranga. They have an Orange Theory Fitness center, a Woodland's Pet Store, as well as a AAA location (for all my automotive/DMV needs). Over the years, they've done a really nice job of landscaping the property. There are plenty of palm trees and outdoor seating areas (which is especially convenient now during this Covid craziness). The shopping center is always clean. Seldom will you find litter or debris on the ground. In the past few year, more upscale shops have opened their doors to appease the local Soccer moms, including Spanish Table, West Elm, Lavande Nail Spa, and Athleta. You certainly won't find a Target, Panda Express or $1 Store in this mall. Welcome to Mill Valley, folks. Although Strawberry Village continues to expand its vendor portfolio and spruce itself up, my favorite thing about this mall is the smaller businesses who have been there for years. I'm talking about the old shoe/watch repair store, the copy shop, the camera store, and Arch Rival (which continues to sell sporting goods and shoes). Even in this Amazon home delivery world, these businesses continue to survive, and I'm happy to support them. * If you're a dog owner, I'll let you in on a little secret. The Strawberry Village is a great place to walk the pooch when it's raining because of all the covered outdoor areas.

Founded in 1948 by visionary ceramicist Edith Heath, the brand is an icon of California modern design. The items here are undeniably expensive, but the timeless design and constantly updating of color palettes make each piece feel special. In 2003, the company was revitalized by husband-and-wife product design and business team, who thoughtfully reinvented the brand. Heath is a great example of how with a good steward, classic design can be successfully revived and made modern. I find Heath to be a good spot for finding special design focused gifts.

I stopped by today, with my mom, to buy my sister some gifts for her wedding. I loved the new colors I saw - they had some yellow bowls and bulb vases that I was seriously tempted to buy, in addition to the other items. What I didn't love was the lack of customer service. I don't expect or want to be waited on hand and foot, but a simple acknowledgement would have been nice, rather than having multiple employees just watching us the entire time. I ended up purchasing from the seconds section and buying less than anticipated due to the overall vibe. I try to be understanding, and perhaps something was off for them today. Regardless, I was so uncomfortable in the store that I waited outside while our items were gift wrapped.

They can even have the same item on the self at the same price, you can have the receipt and they'll make some claim or another, from the sole has some dirt on it, if you have ever shopped a Ross store you know there isn't a much dirtier store open and operating, at least not another chain store, and about 1/2 of their shoes have dust marks or dirt smudges; or they'll say we don't do our tags that way, in reference to other formats other than the standard pre-printed tags: I have gotten printed while I wait tags from various little small/portable printers, hand written tags on a blank Ross tag, and blank tags with nothing but ROSS printed at the top, it varies depending on the store and how busy they are or what equipment is on hand. I don't know what the corporation rules are, but I know these experienced people have seen tags of all kinds in various stores, as I'm only a shopper and I have seen all sorts. It's just one of their many excuses not to return an item onto their balance sheet. I can only guess the store manager/s get bonus's based on their bottom lines and returns reduce that number so they decline every chance they get! I can tell you this behavior has greatly decreased my Ross shopping. I have gotten store credits for several hundred dollars because I couldn't make it to the other store before the 30 day return window. So when this happens I refuse to spend any money at Ross for at least 30days. I take my shopping budget to Burlington, or The Rack or TJ Max instead. The more I shop at these other stores the less business Ross gets from me, If I go into one of these others because of the issues described above, I find I just keep going to them instead to avoid the Ross drama
