We are new home owners in Sea Isle. We have tried Marina Bar & Grill several times, giving them the benefit of the doubt. The food is heavy. I'm sure it's great for people who have been on the beach all day and want something very hardy. For someone just wanting a good meal, it didn't work for me. I tried the dinner salad and paid the additional $9 for 5 shrimp. I thought that was very steep price for 5 shrimp. I like the atmosphere, it's very laid back. Our last trip there we decided would be our last trip. My husband ordered the shrimp poboy sandwich. It was under breaded, under seasoned and the shrimp was undercooked. I ordered the Cajun nachos. The nachos had very little of the meat mixture and tons of chips. So I'm sad to say we won't be back unless we are in the mood for a hamburger and then I have to make sure it's cooked all the way through. read more

Best kept secret in Galveston. Great view on the harbor side near the yacht club. Food was amazing and friendly service. Cocktails were served in tall glasses with a variety of tropical specials. I recommend the fish tacos which were delicious. We enjoyed watching the giant boats being transferred from the dry dock warehouse where boats are stacked into the water. Very entertaining! This is my favorite spot on the island. Mostly locals and great place away from all the tourist. I come here to watch the cruise ships arrive and leave the Port of Galveston. Also I come here for the fish and Chips (so good and flaky and prepared when ordered). The shrimp here are so sweet and fresh. Paola was our server and she was lovely. Everyone is friendly and the staff is awesome. *Warning* If the wind is blowing on the island, best believe it's blowing even more here. So grab a drink and some food and sit back and take it all in. Beautiful marina views and a relaxing patio atmosphere. The Marina Bar & Grill is an excellent spot to take in views of the water and ships in the marina, have a drink, and enjoy some seafood. The shrimp tacos were delicious, and we all enjoyed the chips and queso, The kids especially loved watching a cruise ship come in to dock while we were eating. Service was friendly and attentive. Came for a late lunch and we were the only ones there (it's off season). Service was very friendly. I had grilled shrimp tacos which were some of the best I've had in town. The queso was pretty good and the chips with it were nice and hot. But of a disappointment that others who ordered fish were told it wasn't thawed out yet so they had to order something else (it's a marina ... would think fish would be fresh). We came to a birthday party for a friend, it's entirely outdoors. The service was really good considering the place was pretty packed. My partner and I shared a fried shrimp plate with a side of onion rings. My friends noted the burger was delicious as well. It was plenty to split for us and it was very tasty. They need an island time warning. My family and I of 5 (all adults) walked in on a Saturday night at 8:45pm thinking they don't close until midnight, but unfortunately we were turned away. We had checked both the website and Apple Maps for Saturday evening hours which both said midnight. Even yelp says they're still open for a while as I write this. However, the waitress stated they were about to close and had already started cleaning the grill so we could not dine there. I would advise to call ahead. read more

To start of with, this place is a total dive, in a good way. Aside from being difficult to find (Galveston confuses the heck out of Google Maps), it was a great decision. Located in the Yacht Club basin, the place is a two story building with service up and down. I recommend upstairs. The cool ocean breezes and the harbo0r view make for a very relaxing time. My wife and I both ordered the fish and chips. So fresh, so flavorful, and so good. It was just what we needed for lunch that day. I love a good dive, and this place is a great reason why. The food at this place is not as good as before. I had not been there for a few months and the chicken strips are now like large McNuggets. All of their food now seems to come from a Sysco truck. The only reason for 3 stars is the view. Our waitress was super nice but the food was just okay. Shrimp tacos were good, patty melt had no flavor but their fries and onion rings were pretty good. My Biggest disappointment was not from the dry overcooked hamburger patty, but rather the warm beer. Ordered a modelo and a Dos Equis. Both were not very cold at all. Talk about finding a hidden treasure, that was a little hard to find. Located at the back of the Galveston Yacht Club near the boat ramp and bait shop. The ambiance is top notch, it has a laid back comfortable coastal feel. The cool breeze off the water and the sound of laughing gulls really added to the experience. Our table had a fantastic view of the marina. We enjoyed watching all the boats launch. We also had a great view of the brown pelicans lining up at the fish cleaning station waiting for scraps. That was entertaining as well. We ordered the bear battered shrimp and a burger. Everything was excellent. The shrimp were some of the freshest that I have ever had. Our waitress said they get them right off the dock. The only thing I would do differently would be to get them grilled or fried as the beer batter takes away from the flavor of the shrimp. The burger was fresh ground beef not frozen. It was cooked and seasoned well. The onion rings were homemade and delicious. Cooked perfectly with a light well seasoned batter. Yum! Our waitress was friendly, offered suggestions and checked on us often. Great job! On Friday, Saturday and Sunday they have live music. Very enjoyable and entertaining. I'm assuming they were frozen chicken tenders? The fries were good. The table was sticky and desperately needed a good wipe down. As soon as the food arrived, we were hit with a swarm of flies. Marina is a must to bring out of towners for the beautiful view. The food and cocktails are constantly good. I typically get a Bloody Mary from Bree (she's actually nominated for bartender of the year in Galveston!!). This trip we started with the fried pickles and oh my goodness they were some of the best I've ever had! The chips and salsa were really good too the salsa had the perfect kick to it. I got the gumbo and it was amazing. This was the first place in Galveston that I've had my gumbo served in a bread bowl and it was great. My shrimps were very well seasoned and not over cooked, I also liked that my rice came on the side. The sausage in the gumbo had so much flavor I'm pretty sure it was smoked. Often you can see the yachts get put in the water by a fork lift and I just think it's so neat to watch. I defiantly recommend marina for a group of people epically when there's live music. Ordered two appetizers to go and was advised 20 minutes which seemed a bit long for fried gator bites. But we waited. Asked about our food 3 times. They took a full hour to fry gator. We usually get the gumbo, but twice now it's been served without the bread bowl and were not asked if that was okay.
