A favorite for brunch when we visit Galveston! Shrimp and grits are amazing, Bloody Mary is good, the location offers a cool view of the pier, and the wait staff were welcoming.

We love coming to Miller's- it is a gem on Galveston Island. We've been here many times over the years and we recently enjoyed a dinner. They serve breakfast all day, have amazing seafood, burgers, and sides. We recently enjoyed the 16 meal and the fish tacos. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary this month! (May 1976-2026) And as a special treat for their anniversary, we received complimentary samples of their Italian Cream Cake and their chocolate ganache dessert. Cathy was a delight to have as our server. The restrooms are very clean, well stocked, and beautifully decorated. We look forward to eating here every time we come to the Island!

Our server was this amazing older lady. She was the best! I wish I remembered her name. The shrimp and grits were to die for! The Mac and cheese, fries and French toast were also the best! Going back today for lunch before we leave because it was so good.

This is a follow up on this place, and it was as delicious today as it was during my first visit. The food is remarkably consistent over time. Huge kudos to the quality control in the kitchen!! The front of house was well represented by our server, Edward T. He was attentive with the coffee refills, and efficient with our order from breakfast items to desserts. We enjoyed breakfast items HUEVOS RANCHERO/ROASTED JALAPENO and LUMP CRAB BENEDICT. For dessert we savored PEACH COBBLER and ITALIAN CREAM CHEESE CAKE. The tables and chairs are clean, and the table views included seaside windows and historic wall art. The bathroom is clean and fresh smelling, IYKYK. Pro tip: Arrive before you are starving, a long wait is normal for this seaside treasure!

Sorry I liked this so much I forgot to take a pic- shrimp and grits blackened

Homestyle goodness! From the waitstaff to the food, we felt right at home. This is a Galveston staple. We had the shrimp and grits blackened and the steak and eggs. Both were spectacular and tasty. I think it is hard to go wrong with this fabulous restaurant

Being open for close to a half century hasn't slowed down Miller's Seawall Grill, which has been a destination for both locals and tourists in the ever changing Galveston brunch scene. They've amassed a reputation for consistently churning out great food and service, which is why I try to make it a point to visit whenever I'm in the area. The initial drawback is that parking can be tricky. Their lot only fits a handful of cars and the spaces are extremely tight, so street parking is the reality for most folks. The other drawback for most is the wait time. Whether it's a busy weekend or a weekday, there's always going to be a crowd. Whether one can beat the rush really depends on luck and time, the latter of which is probably the safer bet. (#1). While it doesn't look particularly large from the outside, they've surprisnigly made the interior layout work well for a dedicated waiting area and a good number of seating options in the dining room. The vibe is 100% a throwback in time, which only adds to its charm. Bonus points for anyone who gets a view of the water / beach. There may be some initial sticker shock for first timers or perhaps long time locals who are used to times before foodflation became a thing. Since their menu is largely comprised of seafood, items like the fish tacos can run as much as $18 or even a $30 lump crab cake. Even the popular Miller's combo is a cool $35 for 3 choices. The menu is so large and laced with comfort food options that it shouldn't be hard for anyone to find something they would enjoy. I've found a lot that I loved. The crab and corn chowder cup ($7) is so tasty that I'd prefer a bowl ($14) instead. Other occasions I'd prefer their gumbo, which had a solid roux, and plenty of flavor. Their hash browns ($4) are the kind of I love the most: crispy, buttery, and the centerpiece to any quality brunch meal. As other places move onto patties, home fries, or breakfast potatoes, places like this deserve the nod for having mastered this lost art. The lump crab benedict ($21) is indulgent but a nice treat for anyone who loves a killer hollandaise and a solid amount of crab meat. I also strangely loved their bacon and pancakes ($9), the latter of which was fluffy and incredibly satisfying. While the the crab balls are a solid appetizer choice as a half order ($7), one that I'd probably avoid in the future is the shrimp and grits ($21), which were underwhelming and a tinge too greasy and salty. While others may feel otherwise, the service (#2) has always been excellent during my experiences. They've been attentive, have provided soup samples, and have given my group and I quality recommendations across the board. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and can't wait to make a bigger dent into their menu. __________ (#1) Real talk: Yelp Waitlist here would be *so* useful. (#2) Everyone has been nice, but an extra shout out to Blanca.

This is one of my favorite places to visit for breakfast when I'm in town! I'm not sure if it's the history, the food or the family-like atmosphere! I definitely would suggest you arrive early. Yes, you will more than likely have to wait in line, but it is worth the wait. Hours: 8am-8pm. Parking is limited so be prepared. The restaurant is clean, lots of hustle and bustle from the staff to make sure it stays that way too. The restrooms are also clean, that's very important for me personally. Breakfast is always served hot and fresh! The menu offers a variety of items to choose from. If you prefer to eat breakfast later in the afternoon.... This is your place - ALL Day breakfast! Don't care for breakfast! No worries, review the menu! I'm sure you'll find something you would enjoy!

The food was great. The stuffed jalapeños were amazing. The lump crab with crab dressing was uniquely delicious.

My mom and I found this place near our hotel and we were glad we did! We love how it's been open for 50 years and was full to the brim for dinner, even on a cloudy chill week day. We opted for salads for dinner so we could go all out on dessert, which was a great choice! The salads were also big and very filling. We loved the homemade croutons and salad dressing. The blackened salmon was perfect. My mom got the peach cobbler for dinner and it was insanely good. The key lime pie is usually not my choice for dessert but when the waitress described the homemade pecan sandy for the crust of the pie, I couldn't resist! Loved it too. Service was great and attentive, even during a busy dinner hour.

After a long day of enjoying the beach we came here for dinner. The wait was okay and not too long for a Saturday night. They have seating for waiting and beepers to keep the line organized. Now FOOD!!! They have a great selection of seafood and other items if you are not a seafood kinda person. I did not order an appetizer, but you should definitely get one with a large crowd. They also have gumbo you can try and a little bit on the spicy side. You can also order this in a cup or bowl. For the actual entree I had the 1/2 grilled shrimp and 1/2 fried shrimp with hush puppies and okra. I like that you can choose the way you want your shrimp cooked. You also have a large variety of sides you can choose from too. I did not have room in my stomach, but the dessert looked yummy! I will definitely be back to try the breakfast and dessert! Non seafood lovers: They also have a variety of food you can choose if you are not into seafood from salads to burgers!

I want to clarify that I have not received my refund, despite what was stated publicly .I have attached a copy of my receipt confirming the charge.I understand fish anatomy, and what was in my meal does not resemble a caudal vein. It was a separate, cylindrical, worm-like object that looks like a parasitic worm, most likely an Anisakis (roundworm) that was easily removed and does not match the appearance or structure of a vein. This is a legitimate food safety concern, not a misunderstanding. I would appreciate this being addressed accurately and the refund being processed as stated. If needed, I'm prepared to pursue this further through my bank and the appropriate health authorities.

We came to Galveston to celebrate Mardi Gras and were staying at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel. We wanted to grab something to eat and Miller's Seawall Grill was a hop, skip, and a jump away from the hotel. We were seated right away. The parking lot is small so it was good that we walked. Our server Isabelle came over to introduce herself and took our order. I got the Turkey Reuben with sautéed spinach and my girlfriend got a burger with sautéed spinach. I enjoyed my food and my girlfriend said her burger was good. We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager Keith during our visit. We were moved to a window seat which was nice to look out and see the beach. Miller's seems to be a staple for the locals. If you're ever in the area check it out!

Have been here before for Breakfast, I had to try their Dinner. A 15-20 min wait was so worth it! Once seated, we had a view of the water which was nice. We started with the Crab balls, very tasty and good, my husband got the burger, cooked to perfection. The Shrimp and Grits were very good, but could have had a bit more juice, but the portions were very adequate, both taking home leftovers:)

Is the crab cake and crab dressing gluten free?

The crab cake is most likely not. I've had the crab stuffing and most crab cakes have a bread binding. I'd definitely call Millers and ask what they offer in gluten free and if it can be prepared that way. They are very nice there.

Our lunch was absolutely delicious. Here's the rundown: 1 appetizer of ahi tuna won-ton, 2 raw oyster samplers, 2 Galveston Island Brewing blondes, 1 dirty gin martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and one to-go bottle of Cat Five hot sauce. I am not a huge fan of tuna, but this ahi/poke style of tuna with actual umami flavor elevates a mild sushi gateway fish to something yummy. The oysters were a delight. Shucks has a color coded system in place to help you identify which oysters are which, but my tired old eyes can't seem to make their system work. I did have two favorite kinds but could not tell you what they were. No matter, they were all superior - and small like east coast/ Canadian bivalves are. Dan's beer was tasty and swillable and my martini was appropriately dirty. We got the hot sauce because you can never have enough condiments and cats were referenced in its name. Our server was friendly and efficient. Interesting to me, I was mildly making fun of their music selection and soon after it changed. Coincidence? Dunno, but I appreciated the change to Motown! Bottom line. So, so enjoyable and something we don't do too often these days. It was an expensive meal, but worth the splurge.

Fish Company Taco proved to be like finding water in the desert. A lot of Galveston eateries are very similar, in that there's an ample amount of fried seafood on the menu, which is not exactly what you're looking for when you're in the bloated, but wanting to eat *something* state that we were in. My thought was: fish tacos are relatively light and we can walk there from our hotel - how do you beat that? What I didn't realize is that this place probably belongs more in the Heights than Galveston. And I mean that in a good way. The menu is very hipster-coded. And the food matches with hipster quality. It's hard to say what my favorite item even was. The one thing I wasn't a huge fan of was the fish dip - it was just okay. Everything else ranged from good to great. We tried... The burger: FYI, it's more like a double stacked slider than a burger, but delicious. 3 Tacos: Dirty South, Empire and Korean Flavors. I really liked the empire and the korean flavors, but thought the dirty south had a little too much going on with the pimento cheese and chips. Sticky Shrimp: I don't even know how to describe this, but it was delicious. I thought it as more like bang bang shrimp, but it was more fried that I expected. But not hardcore fried - they almost had the airy texture of fried pork skins, but were much tastier. Chili marinated Cucumbers and corn ribs: Simple, refreshing and addicting. But I liked the cucumbers a bit more. They also had some fresh juices and we enjoyed both the mango and the coconut lime concoctions. The layout was odd. All high seating (bar stools) makes it difficult for anyone with mobility issues. The theming is thorough, going with the pirate motif, however they also just phoned it in for most of it. The tabletops are screwed into the barrels beneath, with the exposed heads sticking above the table top. The sparse decorations placed inside are mostly from a Halloween store or Pirates of Caribbean props.

Overall, we had a good experience and would come back. The service was good (attentive and polite)…read moreand it was a laid back fun atmosphere. The biggest issue was that everything we ordered was extremely salty. If the seasoning were dialed back a bit, the food would have been excellent. The portions were very generous. The muffuletta was huge and packed with flavor. The burger was also good, although it was so large and messy that it was a challenge to eat. The onion rings were perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Despite the saltiness, the quality of the food and the portion sizes made for an enjoyable meal.

I've never had such bland food in my life…read more Place was fairly busy. It's a Friday night so that makes sense. But there's only one server. I ordered the crawfish platter. It comes with etouffee and fried crawfish. There was no spice. No salt. The food tasted the same as the plain white rice that accompanied the etouffee. I'm not exaggerating when I say this was literally the least flavorful food I've *ever* had. Plain toast has more flavor. My husband ordered oysters and fried mushrooms. They brought out the mushrooms which were also flavorless. Extremely bland. No salt, no nothing. After 20 minutes we asked where the oysters were. They were never put through. We opted to just get the check and leave. The experience was already so disappointing that we weren't about to waste money on more of the same. Even my water came out warmer than room temperature. I have no idea how this place is in business honestly. There's so much competition out there and I'm sure they season their batter. I would never return here and absolutely wouldn't recommend it either. I can't find anything positive about our experience.
