My HBD SURPRISE @ Blvd Seafood in Galveston, Texas!
    Dianna R.

Who knew this bldg was once a 7/11 convenience store? That explained its unassuming exterior, but that did not stop us from deciding to go for dinner. After reading multiple reviews and comparing it to other local seafood restaurants in Galveston, we knew we had to go. We were seated with my Service dog, no problem. Mike immediately came and delivered water. It was hot outside. The decor is inviting and the bar area looked well stocked. We began with cocktails xtra Dirty Martini with hand stuffed blue cheese olives and for my husband a Maker's Mark bourbon . This gave us time to look over this incredible menu! Seafood is what we came for so we ordered 2 sharable items: soy, ginger octopus on crispy wonton and roasted beat walnut and fried goat cheese salad. We could have stopped there completely wowed. Both if us love Texas Redfish and it's so hard to get fresh seafood where we live so that caught our eyes. Husband ordered blackened and redfish over mushroom risotto and French style green beans. I could not resist a similar item blackened redfish over mushroom risotto and asparagus. We both were over the moon with the meaty blackened redfish FLAVORS! Risotto was perfectly cooked al dente and both veg choices were the perfect accompaniment! Honestly it had been a ling time since we had such a beautiful meal. Service was outstanding and he even picked up on a comment by my husband encouraging me to order whatever I wanted given it was a birthday dinner. So I was completely delighted when Mike showed up with the final surprise a Creamy NY style cheesecake. So I guess what I'm trying to say is this place was outstanding. You could not go wrong with a decision to have a great experience and upscale seafood meal at BLVD SEAFOOD.

Nick was the waiter and he was very friendly and attentive. We mentioned we were on a time crunch and he had everything flying out including the check and offering waters to go. Service was fast, and for a $3 mimosa was a steal. Food was decent but I was hoping for more based on the reviews - chicken and waffles: felt the chicken pieces could've been crispier, and the fruits were sour so made a weird mix of sweet syrup and sour fruits - Soft shell crab - favorite item we ordered which was nicely presented and tasted well - Gumbo: decent tasting but nothing that stood out significantly Overall food was well priced and decent. I didn't find the food extraordinarily impressive but it was enjoyable. Great waiter and inside was just a standard restaurant inside with some of the tables a little cramped moving around. Not a bad spot but nothing I'd go out of my way to seek Food: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5

Got there for the lunch menu but chose the dinner menu instead. Friendly server named Cindy. I chose the flat fish w/ no subs. Hubby ordered the BLVD seafood platter with mushroom risotto instead of the rice pilaf. Let me say, I've had some good seafood in San Francisco. This place blows them all out of the water. I wanted to stop half way through my meal because I was getting full. But it was so good, I ate too much and now im in a food coma. For what you get, I feel like the prices are just right.

Haven't been here for a while. Was down on the island and wanted to take advantage of 2026 Restaurant Week. I love the ambiance. We sat at the bar. It was a cool hang. The service was good. Missed lunch, so did happy hour instead. Got the Jobber (gumbo) - includes crab, shrimp and andouille sausage in a dark roux on top of rice (pic attached). It was chocked full of protein. The taste of the roux was ok. Not my favorite.

What a great place for brunch! Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was impeccable. Chicken & waffles was such a nice variation. The chicken was juicy, tender, & crispy. The fruit on top if waffles was mango, papaya, pineapple, blueberries. Mango syrup was delicious too. Cajun Benedict did not disappoint. Sausage, shrimp, & hollandaise- yum! The potatoes were perfectly seasoned & crispy. The red snapper and grits was also amazing. Will definitely be back to try other items. We saw so many other items come out that looked so good.

Didn't have reservations (mistake) but got a seat at the bar by the spot where they plate the dishes. Amazing to watch. Very efficient. Bar service was great. It was not noisy despite being VERY busy. Had the oysters, escargot, and clam linguini. She had plank salmon. Fantastic. The garlic bread served with each meal was the best. Buttery and crispy. The oysters were briney and sweet, but like similar gulf varieties they were large. For me, I prefer smaller New England species. But this is Galveston and they were quite fresh. A mouthful but delicious.

Overrated. We have been dying to try this place, so we stopped by and tried. We were less than impressed. The service was ok, The food was nothing special. All the pictures and reviews describe these amazing flavors. We had to use the salt, pepper, and Tabasco on everything. The best thing we had were the fries. I don't think we would try this place again.

The seafood here is some of the best I've had in a while. The manager and wait staff are super attentive. Really cool atmosphere. Highly recommend especially the white chowder, poke bowl and chocolate mousse!

It's alright, ordered the crab cake and the seafood sampler, couple cocktails , about $100. Flavors are just average

This place always hits! I came here back in 2023 with my boyfriend as a last minute decision when we went to Galveston for the day and we haven't stopped thinking about the food since. I took my mom this most recent time and the consistency and deliciousness is still there! Both times I have gotten the pecan crusted redfish and it is so good. I love all of their sides across the board but the scalloped potatoes and spinach were exceptional this time around. The bread pudding is a must. My mom isn't a big seafood fan and got the linguine pasta with chicken and loved it! We got oysters the first time we came which was also great. Both times we have gone the servers have been great. They have fun cocktails and a good wine selection. The vibes can be a little touristy but the food is not.

GULF REDFISH -Pecan crusted with asparagus and scalloped potatoes

We wanted to indulge in some local seafood during our stay in Galveston and decided to check out BLVD based on their great reviews. Their location is prime, within walking distance to the beach. We had the Flagship Shrimp 'N Grits and the Pecan-Crusted Red Fish. The shrimp is from the gulf and I was surprised that they were really small, however I did enjoy the andouille sausage and cheesy grits. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the red fish and wished that had ordered the red snapper instead. The asparagus and scalloped potatoes were delicious though! Overall; both dishes were pretty good and the staff were really kind and attentive.

First time in, continuing my "locals" dining in Galveston. Not much from the outside, but walked into a place already bustling with the dinner rush. Informed the host I didn't know if we needed reservations, but he sat me and my husband right away:) Nice menu with a nice variety, and knowledgeable wait staff. We opted to split the blackened Red fish w/risotto and green beans and has a wedge salad to start. Added blackened shrimp as well, made the meal! Fish and shrimp both tasted fresh and blackened to perfection! Nice welcoming atmosphere, we will put this on our Galveston List to return!

    The gumbo! Yum!

The service is awesome. Missy Jo was awesome from Hello to Goodbye. She was very informative and helpful with dinner choices. The food was wonderful! We will be back. It is so delicious! And the portions are nice sized-took some home. We had the Texas Gulf Shrimp with scalloped potatoes. Delicious. And Shrimp Linguine. Delicious. The Gumbo. Delicious. The Wedge salad. Delicious. All lovely. We liked the ambiance of the small setting. Nice to be in a restaurant that was mom and pop and treated you special and like family at the same time. Thank you Boulevard Seafood. Keep doing what you do!

From the herbed popover to the lobster salad we shared, we were off to a good start. They gave us a lovely window table for a short two minute wait. Our little Russian server was a doll, helpful and full of personality. The strange thing was, every time we asked for something, more tartar sauce, in house made ranch, drinks, someone new brought it to our table. It was very quick rather than waiting for our server for every little request. I ordered the Lobster Thermidor with skinny fries and hubby ordered the Alaskan Halibut Fish and Chips and both were absolutely outstanding. Best fish and chips I've ever had. The Halibut was cooked to perfection! The Thermidor was full of flavor, perfectly saucy with a simple and slightly cheesy Parmesan flavor. It said it had mushrooms in it, but I think it really only had three small pieces. I love mushrooms so I could've gone for more, but the whole dish was really outstanding. My fries were a bit more crispy than my husbands. All their sauces are made in house and are absolutely delicious, cocktail, tartar, and ranch. I was using them all for my frites. I would definitely love to come back for any special occasion. The only disappointment was the cheesecake at the end. It was just kind of boring. It could have been elevated by caramelizing the banana. In hindsight I would have chosen something different because an airier version of cheesecake, or something more delicate would have been a better finish to such a lovely, meal.

The service has always been friendly and attentive, making each visit enjoyable. My only complaint is the noise level. When the restaurant is busy, the sound echoes throughout the dining room, making it difficult to relax and have a conversation. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but considering how consistently busy they are, it's clear many people feel it's worth it. I'd say it's because it lacks competition. Overall, it's still one of my favorite places to eat in Galveston, and I always look forward to coming back.
