It was my husband's birthday and she made it very special with great suggestions from drinks to customizing a birthday dessert with "Happy Birthday Gremlin" which is his childhood nickname. Finally made it back here, and it's a wonderful as it was on our last visit. The service is top notch, and Autumn was our friendly and excellent server. She knows the menu inside and out, and made great recommendations. The atmosphere is a cozy beachside / nautical decor. Cozy atmosphere and good food! I had a great time overall. The crab cakes were definitely the highlight of the meal, they're delicious and something I'd recommend ordering. The only downside was the service. Our server seemed a bit rushed and came across as if he had somewhere else to be, which made the experience feel less welcoming. Also, the bar seating isn't very comfortable if you plan on sitting there for a while. Who knew this bldg was once a 7/11 convenience store? That explained its unassuming exterior, but that did not stop us from deciding to go for dinner. After reading multiple reviews and comparing it to other local seafood restaurants in Galveston, we knew we had to go. We were seated with my Service dog, no problem. Mike immediately came and delivered water. It was hot outside. The decor is inviting and the bar area looked well stocked. We began with cocktails xtra Dirty Martini with hand stuffed blue cheese olives and for my husband a Maker's Mark bourbon . This gave us time to look over this incredible menu! Seafood is what we came for so we ordered 2 sharable items: soy, ginger octopus on crispy wonton and roasted beat walnut and fried goat cheese salad. We could have stopped there completely wowed. Both if us love Texas Redfish and it's so hard to get fresh seafood where we live so that caught our eyes. Husband ordered blackened and redfish over mushroom risotto and French style green beans. I could not resist a similar item blackened redfish over mushroom risotto and asparagus. We both were over the moon with the meaty blackened redfish FLAVORS! Risotto was perfectly cooked al dente and both veg choices were the perfect accompaniment! Honestly it had been a ling time since we had such a beautiful meal. Service was outstanding and he even picked up on a comment by my husband encouraging me to order whatever I wanted given it was a birthday dinner. So I was completely delighted when Mike showed up with the final surprise a Creamy NY style cheesecake. So I guess what I'm trying to say is this place was outstanding. Got there for the lunch menu but chose the dinner menu instead. Friendly server named Cindy. I chose the flat fish w/ no subs. Hubby ordered the BLVD seafood platter with mushroom risotto instead of the rice pilaf. Let me say, I've had some good seafood in San Francisco. This place blows them all out of the water. What a great place for brunch! Everything we ordered was delicious and the service was impeccable. Chicken & waffles was such a nice variation. The chicken was juicy, tender, & crispy. The fruit on top if waffles was mango, papaya, pineapple, blueberries. Mango syrup was delicious too. Cajun Benedict did not disappoint. Sausage, shrimp, & hollandaise- yum! Didn't have reservations (mistake) but got a seat at the bar by the spot where they plate the dishes. Amazing to watch. Very efficient. Bar service was great. It was not noisy despite being VERY busy. Had the oysters, escargot, and clam linguini. She had plank salmon. Fantastic. The garlic bread served with each meal was the best. Buttery and crispy. The oysters were briney and sweet, but like similar gulf varieties they were large. For me, I prefer smaller New England species. But this is Galveston and they were quite fresh. This place always hits! I came here back in 2023 with my boyfriend as a last minute decision when we went to Galveston for the day and we haven't stopped thinking about the food since. I took my mom this most recent time and the consistency and deliciousness is still there! Both times I have gotten the pecan crusted redfish and it is so good. I love all of their sides across the board but the scalloped potatoes and spinach were exceptional this time around. The bread pudding is a must. My mom isn't a big seafood fan and got the linguine pasta with chicken and loved it! We got oysters the first time we came which was also great. Both times we have gone the servers have been great. They have fun cocktails and a good wine selection. The vibes can be a little touristy but the food is not. read more

We wanted to indulge in some local seafood during our stay in Galveston and decided to check out BLVD based on their great reviews. Their location is prime, within walking distance to the beach. We had the Flagship Shrimp 'N Grits and the Pecan-Crusted Red Fish. The shrimp is from the gulf and I was surprised that they were really small, however I did enjoy the andouille sausage and cheesy grits. I also wasn't the biggest fan of the red fish and wished that had ordered the red snapper instead. The asparagus and scalloped potatoes were delicious though! We hadn't been to BLVD for quite a while, possibly a couple of years. Recently Dan was treated to a birthday dinner by some good friends who eat there fairly often so we chose it. Overall it was a good experience. We picked Wednesday evening without making reservations figuring that the need to do that kicks in Thursday. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a very full dining room. Thankfully, there was a table for four to be had, so we settled in for a delicious, but rather cacophonous meal. As is my custom, I studied the menu ahead of time and was looking forward to trying octopus on the shareables. I got it and while not blown away by it, I thought it was okay. The presentation was pretty enough, but the octopus had been chopped up into small pieces which caused it to lose its identity a bit. The flavors were fine though, but the avocado was superfluous - and I am very fond of avocado. To accompany it, I ordered cheesy grits as a side. Absolutely no complaints there. They were appropriately cheesy and delicious. Dan got the Greek salad and that was definitely a home run, very flavorful with fresh, balanced ingredients. He shared with me and I was happy to help. He also had the crab cake and it was perfect. The only thing that would have made it next level is something with a crunch factor alongside it like slaw or chunky salsa. Our friends both opted for gumbo (cup) and they seemed very satisfied. For her main, Jen got the cedar plank salmon. Since she shared, I can say that it was a win - perfectly cooked and seasoned. Ryan got the Gulf Coast flat fish stack which made him very happy. It's a rich dish and it almost conquered him, but he got his second wind and finished it. No, we did not have room for dessert! If we had, I would have chosen the chocolate mousse or the creme brulee trio. I make both mousse and creme brulee so I always like to see how mine measures up. Maybe next time. Final thoughts on BLVD: it's a fun, lively place with tasty food. Reservations are probably a good idea. read more

First time in, continuing my "locals" dining in Galveston. Not much from the outside, but walked into a place already bustling with the dinner rush. Informed the host I didn't know if we needed reservations, but he sat me and my husband right away:) Nice menu with a nice variety, and knowledgeable wait staff. We opted to split the blackened Red fish w/risotto and green beans and has a wedge salad to start. Added blackened shrimp as well, made the meal! Great stop!! Not sure how we've missed this place the times we've been here before. Charbroiled oysters are fabulous. Cooked perfectly and if I might add a suggestion add a Parmesan Romano cheese mix and leave the on the grill for 3 more minutes and you move them from a home run....to a grand slam. Great service, loved the Sublime/LBC music and being able to watch the kitchen as they created more masterpieces. We'll be back!! read more

Our favorite meal in Galveston. Fantastic food and service. An upscale, but casual restaurant. We ordered the Smoked Salmon Crostini, Wedge Salad, and Cup of the White for staters. Each item was absolutely delicious. The salmon was lightly smoked dry salmon with a herbed oil and micro-greens on a soft slice of bread. The soup was fabulous with lots of seafood and great soup base. The wedge salad was huge, with lots of blue cheese, nuts, onion, tomato, and green apple. We shared the soft shell crab for our entree which came with 2 sides. It was 2 large crab with scalloped potatoes and green beans. Handmade tartar and cocktail sauce, Cheesy potatoes, and crisp cooked green beans. It was fantastic! We would come back often if we lived here. Emory, our bartender/server, gave fantastic recommendations and provided truly excellent service. You don't always expect to see a gem of a restaurant right along a busy tourist strip, but BLVD Seafood is exactly that. We shared a calamari appetizer which was tender and fried to perfection accompanied by a light sauce. We also split the Waterfront Sampler. The redfish was flaky with a light crispy breading; the shrimp were plump and golden brown; the soft shell crab was tender and tasty. The chef prepared a saffron rice pilaf and perfectly tender buttery fresh green beans. The service was prompt and friendly, and the manager was very hands-on. A bonus was that we had a table facing the seawall. We are grateful for the recommendation by a family member who lives in the area. We will be back! read more

This place gets real busy even during the off-season and there's about 24 parking spaces not including street parking. This restaurant also sits directly across the street from the very popular recreation center where hungry seniors can satisfy their appetite after a good workout. One thing that I found impressive was their very extensive wine and whiskey list. They have very good Happy hour cocktail prices from 3 to 7 M-F. We both decided on the fried shrimp and fish plate and a signature cocktail from their extensive food menu. We really liked their choice of coatings on the shrimp and fish. They do have some nice dessert choices, including wine to go at reasonable prices. They have a great formula, great food, reasonable prices, and good service. We called at 5 pm to see if we could add 2 to our party, shockingly they said problem. As more friends made their way to the island they asked if they could join us. My wife and I were in Galveston for our "pre-honeymoon" trip just after our wedding. To be frank, our hotel experience down the street was a complete disaster and had left my new wife in tears. We walked out of the hotel restaurant and went to BLVD Seafood hoping to salvage our night. ​From the moment we walked in, the entire experience was a 180-degree turnaround. ​We were immediately greeted with smiles. When they learned we had just gotten married, the staff was incredibly warm and congratulated us genuinely. The service was PHENOMENAL all night. Our server Martin was attentive, kind, and actually listened to us and checked in on us regularly. ​The manager, Yvonne, was absolutely amazing. She came over, and we shared our horrible experience from the hotel. She was so empathetic, apologized on BEHALF of the hotel's bad service, and even comped us some drinks to celebrate our marriage. ​This team turned what was a stressful, upsetting night (and trip in general) into a beautiful celebration. They truly understand hospitality and how to treat people. The food was fantastic (10/10), but it was the service that made our night. Roberto was a great server and extremely courteous. The vibe is beach casual. No swimsuits but shorts or jeans are fine. The seared tuna shareable is great but not enough for a meal for a guy. Beer was cold and fresh - I had the Kona. My wife's shrimp plate was ok but rice pilaf needs to be updated. Shrimp were plentiful but on the smaller side. I would go back and get the shrimp cocktail.
