I was at the park for a walk and needed to refuel. Was I was just going to stop in to Subway but couldn't figure me it, lol. I drive by Marina Market and saw the sign for sandwiches so went in. I had a Turkey and pepper jack on sliced sour dough... excellent! Hand built and did not skimp on the ingredients. Tasty and fresh!! read more

Upside: great selection of micro brew beer. Really outstanding actually. Open very late. Decent sandwiches for a good price. Small grocery selection is convenient when you need one or two things. Nice people. Abundant parking. Downside: no prices on any of the beer. I used to work at a "Mom-and-Pop" store with 50,000 skus. Everything but the individual nuts and bolts were priced. C'mon folks, it would only take 4 or 5 hours to label the shelves. As others have mentioned, you are surcharged 50 cents for using a debit or credit card which is waived if your purchase is over $20. Why not drop it after $5? Also receipts are not itemized. No transparency in pricing doesn't sit well. Neither does gratuitous nickel and diming. I want to support local business but the aforementioned practices often mean that I go out of the way to get my beer. read more

Martinez continues to be sprinkled with neighborhood "grocery stores", of which the Marina Market has almost exclusive rights in the downtown/waterfront area. The building itself is huge and looks like it was old gasoline station in a previous life. Inside is a very good beer selection, a decent deli counter, and a nice selection of stuff to supplement the pantry. Hours are generous, or at least they've been open when I've wandered in looking for this or that. read more

This place has a really good beer selection. The fact that Martinez has so many places with good beer may be a good selling point for the city. They also sell sandwiches and I'm scared to buy one. OK reuben purchased here the other day... for about $5.80, I got some sauerkraut, pastrami, and choice of cheese all heated up and good portion of meat provided. Tiny bit slow as the queue continued to build, but I believe their sandwiches are above average. Just the facts: I managed to fill a paper cup, less than halfway full - All the coffee dispensers were then out of coffee - The employee whose first name starts with an A, behind the cash register, stated that he would not make anymore coffee, though I asked for a full cup - He then demanded $2.50 for a large coffee, even though my cup was less than halfway full, and I did not put a lid on, or take a lid - I drank my coffee, less than two minutes later - The coffee was definitely not hot - This was my third purchase at this store - I always paid in cash - Nevermore. Sandwiches are on point!!!! And I was skeptical hahaha. Flavors were just perfect and price was right. Way better then subway and togos. Got the regular turkey with provolone and everything on it. Happy to get my ice tea in the fridge there too. Nice selection of ice creams since it's a convenient store. And sells scratchers and lotto! Which of course I just had to have. Very happy with the selection of breads, cheeses, and meats. But I'm just glad this sandwich tasted so good. Wish they had better selection of chips to go with the sandwich in a kettle chip person and they only have Doritos. But I can look past that and not take off a star. read more

If you are looking for a good sandwich place then this is the place! Yes they serve deli sandwiches in here even if it looks like a liquor mart. They frequently over charge me. For example today aquafina water says two for $2. They charge me $1.29 each. Plus they over charge on crv. Crv for bottles/cans less then 24oz is 0.05, greater than $0.10. I mention this to them. They insist they are correct so I went home to check, yup they are ripping people off. Another issue is if you use your debit or credit card they charge you a fee without letting you know. They have no signs that state they do this. They just do! Constantly have to debate about the cost. Frustrating because they also own the market down at the next corner on main. The folks on green st and Brown are no better. read more

Top Notch convenience store deli. High end products and sometimes hard to find products if it's late at night, especially pre-made food and dinners. Great selection! Higher end prices too, but hey convenience stores do that. At least you are getting quality for your higher prices. The deli food was super good. I've only been once while doing business in the area. I stopped in to grab a snack to eat and saw they had a deli so I ended up getting dry salami on a sourdough roll. Now anytime I want a deli sandwich I think of this place and want to return hoping the sandwich will be as good as I thought it was that day. read more

The lunch special was just raised to $8.99, no longer "the best deal in town," as a very similar lunch meal can be had at Safeway for $7.49, with club card. Oddly enough, they had raised the price a month or so ago to $7.89, which would seem logical. Very disappointed to see how much the price has jumped. My visits will probably be few and far between.
