Don's isn't easy to access while going down Port Chicago Highway heading downtown. (cars behind u going at high speed). slow down when near, make a severe right turn into their 4 car parking lot. brew: Iron FisT american pale ale (5.99) 6ish abv. -hoppy, lots of foam for unknown reason (rolling around on car's floormat?) take outs: -beers pricier than average. selection more than usual grocery store. -young clerk friendly, chatty, got hello from him when i entered. read more

Why is this place opened??????????Just the worst place in the world to get rare whiskey there is more place like Perry's liquor livermore, monument liquor Concord, total wine and more Pleasanton hill, and more shop in the area to get better whiskey for the prices. I was happy to find cheaper gas station but they have $75 minimum so with $4/gallon prices you can't fill up an SUV. I have 3/4 of a tank ;-( That's pretty annoying. I would come back if I could fill up all the way without these stupid limits. read more

Years ago I used to stop in here all the time when I was hanging out in the nearby neighborhood at friend's homes. Now I'm in here much less often, but it's still a good stop if you're looking for a bootle-of-something to take to an afternoon BBQ, or a six-pack for dinner with friends. I absolutely adore Don's. It's a kitch locals market with almost everything that you need. The lady behind the desk, locals call her Mama, is so sweet (sometimes hard to understand but she's from India, so give her a break), and there are always people flowing in and out of the door. Since it's right between two BART stations there are a lot of transients and homeless flowing through but they are kind and have never been an issue. My absolute favorite thing about Don's is their beer selection. It's incredible. I love the American craft beer scene and I can get things at Don's that I can't even get at BevMo or other specialty stores. Sure they have the standard BMC brands (Bud, Miller, Coors), and if you like that great. I would highly recommend checking them out of you like good beer. Prices are a bit higher than a big box store, and that's to be expected with it being a convenience store. I pay those prices for both the short walk from my house and to support local business owners. read more

Been stoppin here my whole life.. The owners are very nice and have great rapport with the locals.. Booze is priced well, as are the swishers. It's not the greatest atmosphere, but it's a corner market you might find in a bigger city.. BTW.. the owners are from Nepal.. not any other nearby stereotypical country.. read more

Great neighborhood liquor store to pick up last minute items on the way home or going out somewhere... Its my neighborhood go-to place when I need something last minute when guests are coming over. It also has a gas station.. but prices for gas is 10-25 cents more expensive if you use your debit/credit card. The people here are nice and know their regular customers. Convenient...but the parking sucks.. everyone parks all crazy as they run in to pick up something. So be careful. read more

The store brings the neighborhood down. The lady is rude and changes the prices on items at will. Shes only nice to customers who frequently buy alcohol, tobacco, & lotto tickets. They never do anything for the neighborhood. They can care less what happens in this neighborhood. I have no complaints about the tire shop. The tire shop is a great and valued addition to the neighborhood. The store is convenient to many near here. I haven't been in this store for years because of a previous experience with the woman behind the counter. She has a problem giving change. Yesterday I needed something and decided to go into the store. I purchased something and was owed change. I had to remind this woman, who obviously was trying to keep the change, to give me my change. She made a rude comment. Hard to believe this place stays in business! Went around the neighborhood on foot to learn more about the area my girlfriend recently moved to and this was one of the first spots we went to. Small, family owned market with essential items for sale. Seemed like a good spot to get something quick, however, I will never step foot back into this market again. (Read below for reasons why) On the way back from the movies we stopped by this place again because there was a dude who was following us for a while and was either drunk or high off something. He kept walking faster and faster behind us and we could hear his footsteps getting louder and louder. Something was off about him. Anyways, after having a race with this dude, we saw an opportunity to lose him by going into this market and what do you know? The guy is still right behind us and goes into the store as well. That's when I decided to leave right away. Then you hear the lady behind the counter who I believe is the owner say to me "you come into my store and you buy nothing" and then goes on to say some other things" (in broken English) basically accusing us of going in there to steal or something.. What the **** is that all about?? Here I am thinking this would be a great spot to come get things in the future and this lady assumes I'm in there looking for trouble. My first 1 star on Yelp and this place is deserving. Treat your customers better, especially the ones who enjoy supporting small, family owned businesses. read more

Rude owner i bought several items then i had a dollar in change and the owner (so i was told an older lady with a strong accent-i was tokd.she was the owner .....) first of all when i was buying my items with bills she reached over me to help a guy that was in line buying a beer and hit my head on accident and didnt apologize...then i had wanted to use my change to buy a dollar lottery ticket and she told.me she doesnt take change and told me to leave ..she took.nickles from the guy that was buying a four dollar beer .I.was polite didnt say anything about her hitting my head and not saying sorry or excuse me and having her help.other before she should of helped me first. We used to come here everyday then we moved a little further away so we didn't come as often. We used to get exceptional service, so we did not mind driving a little further down the road after we moved. After a couple months, we started getting rude comments and poor service from the lady in there because we weren't coming in everyday anymore. Now we don't bother even stopping in anymore. the place is well stocked. and it comes in super handy if you're looking to grab and go, and don't want to wait a long line at the safeway down the street. the older lady there is really sweet, but the guy could be a little on the bolder side. nonetheless, it's a decent place, and they have a good deal on smokes ($5.50/pack) The only thing i really dislike there is parking. they have like 3 or 4 spots positioned awkwardly, especially if you're coming northbound on Port Chicago. read more

There's been several complaints on next door neighbors about credit card numbers being stolen from this place. I never really bothered about it because we don't go here but our friend was visiting out of town and told us he got gas here and was alerted by his credit card company the same day about fraudulent charges. The only place he charged anything was at this location. We attempted to call to inform business owners but no one picks up. I'm pretty sure they've been getting complaints about this for months now.
