I visited this store twice this month and was disappointed, at the cashier before making my 2 orders of Pupusas I had the cashier commit to giving me extra Curtido since what they provide is only 4onces and the rest of the Kitchen crew where not supportive of the agreement. My second complaint has to do with ordering Chicharrones I ordered 1/2 pound and the chicharrones were not fresh, instead dry and burned. I recommend El Molino the employees are more understanding about the quality of taste and customer satisfaction. 4.5 stars to them. read more

I am sure they sold a bunch...... then you call to get the manager who is not fluent in English language and have to go through an interpreter to explain. Not only did they not address the issue. Very disappointing! If you say you're open till 9, stay open until 9! I was hoping to get 1 thing, fresh salsa, I arrived 8 minutes before 9pm and they already locked the door. Another customer was leaving and I asked if they would let me get just one item, the lady just smiled and said sorry we closed. I asked what time they close and she said 9. I showed her on my phone it was only 8:52. She just smiled and said sorry. At least she was nice. read more

A small little Mexican grocery store that surprisingly impressed! From the outside it didn't look like much, but from the inside it was pretty much clean from aisle to aisle. Upon entrance: ~To the right is a large case of of baked goods, breads, bolillos, conchas, donuts, and pastries. ~Straight ahead, are fruit and vegetable stands. The area seems clean and has a large selection to choose from. ~In a corner section of the store, there are many choices of herbs as well. Although I did not find smoked paprika, boo! Something I needed. ~The grocery aisles were well stocked and organized. ~But I think the best thing here is the large selection of meat. It's worth buying here! For sanitary reasons, this place separates the different meats unlike some places I've been to. Plus, you know it's a good sign when you see mom's lining up to buy bags of meat. Cheap, but still fresh! ~Great service! The butcher asked if I needed help. Cool beans! I'll be back to buy my Mexican ingredients here next time for sure! Except for the smoked paprika. Parking can suck here, and gets kinda dirty, but it's ghetto Concord. What do you expect! If Los Rancheros were a person and I were not already in a serious relationship, I would want to be in a serious relationship with Los Rancheros. Seriously, it's that good of a market. I love their marinated flat meat for carne asada. It is delicious and inexpensive. They have a lovely selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. They also carry my favorite flour tortillas (El Molino...made just down the street!) which are perfect with the carne asada. To top it all off, their staff are incredibly nice and helpful. read more

After reading the Yelp reviews, we were very excited to try out this Mexican market. We were putting on a taco bar for a family visit and wanted fresh tortillas, marinated meats, and other good quality Mexican fixings to make it as authentic as possible. Right after our visit, we were seriously disappointed. Why? The market is quite small and has much less of a selection than Los Montanas. Plus, it is NOT a tortilleria (you can get fresh tortillas at to El Molino). Also, the selection of deli items (salsas etc) wasn't the best. We had hoped to get a pico de gallo, fresh tortillas, fresh cotija cheese, and restaurant quality tortilla chips. We walked out with packaged corn and flour tortillas (flour was a generic brand, corn tortillas looked fresh), packaged tortilla chips, packaged huaraches, and tomatilla salsa instead of the pico de galle (they didn't have any). They did have the marinated meats and fresh cotija cheese we were looking for. Several hours later after we had cooked the carne asada and marinated chicken fajitas, our estimation of this little market markedly rose. The meat was lean, but extremely flavorful. I bought about two pounds each and there were no leftovers. NONE! This was not a large get together either. The fresh cheese was amazing. The corn tortillas were good quality. The tomatilla salsa was among the best I had ever tasted. Tortilla chips (a random brand) were really good as well. Only real disappointment were the flour tortillas. But real Mexicans don't eat flour tortillas anyways. Service was friendly and the market was clean. They take credit. Keeping the rating to a three star because this market may be too small to serve a general all-purpose shopping trip. As a carniceria, I highly recommend it. Update: Raising the rating to 4 star because it beats out the market right across the street for meat choice. That market is quite a bit bigger too. The marinated chicken fajita meat is amazing. This grocery store is pretty small, but offers a ton of great products for authentic Mexican cooking. The spices and hot sauce aisle are my favorite, but they also have produce and a meat counter. They sell drinks in the back, both 21+ and sodas. A bottle of Jarritos soda is about $1.68. They sell chips and tortillas too. Plus all the stuff to make fresh, delicious, and inexpensive guacamole. read more

This supermarket is great! There is so much variety. I especially love the bakery section where I can pick from a great selection of baked goods (I always get the Conchas here because they're irresistible). Cilantro, onions, and beans are super cheap here so I usually pick up those as well. Staff is super friendly and helpful as well! This market also takes the pandemic seriously by putting a divider between the cashiers and the customers. They also happily accept EBT cards! One of my favorite markets in Concord and I hope you visit to discover some amazing finds! read more

Fresh nopales, several kinds of dried chile peppers for making into sauce, couple of dozen limes, big ass bag of dried corn for pozole, papaya bursting with flavor. Eh it was okay. It's a smallish store. The employees are nice. You can't get lost. They have a "fresh" meat selection, which is where I deduct 2 stars. I bought about 2lbs of pre-marinated flank steak. It really wasn't that good. It wasn't flavorful and it didn't taste fresh. I threw half of it away. I've been next door to the taqueria, but recently I got my hands on a Mexican cookbook and gave the mercado a try. I was pleased to find welcoming, helpful staff, clean, well-lit, well-stocked aisles with everything I needed to complete my meal. Beautiful meats and produce make me happy. They have all the fresh herbs Safeway won't have if you're getting authentic, way cheaper tomatillos, every dry chile imaginable and a wide variety of plantains I barely know where to start. The meat here and other local stores have horrible quality meat to much fat and hardly any red meat or to difficult to take all that fat. Just look closely and see for yourself.
