Great marina and people. This was not a planned stop, we just got lucky. After a few days waiting…read moreon weather to calm down we had witnessed the meticulous handling of boats being hauled in and out, admiring the attention to detail given to each one. We had planned to haul out in a few months for blister repair and bottom paint, after observing we decided we found our place. Excellent work, reasonably priced, and impeccable communication. Great pool and bath house, laundry, floating docks, dog park across the street, with instacart and walmart delivery options. Great short ride to Yorktown via dinghy to enjoy the free hop on and off trolly tour. Can't say enough great things about this place we will defiently return.

Wormley Creek Marina is by far my favorite marina so far. The staff is extremely friendly,…read moreknowledgeable and accommodating. They have just opened the new bath house, laundry room and pool. There are a couple of beautiful flower gardens, not to mention the marina is nestled in a placid area surrounded by large trees. The entire marina is pristinely manicured. They have a full working service yard and haul out. The ship store is stocked with a wide variety of boater's needs. We are on the great loop and needed a repair to our bow thruster, the marina was happy to work us in even though they were booked through July! So much to do close by, Uber does pick up from here and food can be delivered. If you get the chance this is a great place to stay.

I am not going to call this place a scam because, in fairness, I share some responsibility for how…read morethis turned out. I booked the trip, and I did call to cancel the night before. That said, there were two major issues that deserve mentioning. First, we weren't told until after we paid that the boat departs from a marina 1 hour and 15 minutes away from the store. That's nearly three extra hours of driving on top of a four-hour boat rental. I called around 9:30 p.m. the night before to cancel. That timing was my mistake, and I understood there would be a cancellation penalty. We discussed it, and the clerk agreed to refund 50%. At that point, I thought the matter was settled. Although the clerk had already agreed to the partial refund, the clerk never missed an opportunity to insult and demean me and my family for my decision. He seemed determined to make my family feel guilty and embarrassed for canceling (repeatedly). There's a difference between enforcing a cancellation policy and going out of your way to make customers feel small. Holding the refund over my head as he dished out 'life lessons'. I am over 50! I'm from New York, so I'm no stranger to blunt customer service. This wasn't that. It was simply unkind. I can't recommend this business, not because of the cancellation policy, but because of the way we were treated.

Wasted a half of a day. The owner Keith arranged for us to share a 6am charter with another group…read moreon the 35 footer. When the other group cancelled at 10pm the night before he failed to tell me, woke up at 4am to drive an hour south of Corolla and there was no captain and no trip and it was too late to get on another charter. After 2 hours of not answering his phone, Keith blamed me for misunderstanding me. Complete waste of a day. We also did a the Jill Louise group trip the day before but caught nothing over 6 inches. I would recommend this trip for young kids though but not ppl looking for a real offshore experience.
