Okay so this place gets 4 stars only because the weeds can seriously get out of control lol other…read morethan that it's a serene blissful walk. There's white, yellow and monarch butterflies dancing everywhere as well as dragonflies in the spring. I also saw tons of cute lady bugs sprinkled everywhere and beautiful birds! Not to mention the nature is just singing here and the walk can just transport you into a peaceful state of mind. It has an area where people can fish, or take out their boat, and I always love to bring my pups out here. The full loop is about 15-20 minutes depending on how quickly you walk. Oh and you have to drive down a dirt path to get here (not too bad). I love coming here to clear my mind!

I will just give you the CliffNotes version in that the park is very clean - perfect for running/jogging, walking, and sitting around to enjoy the outdoors. Here's the new impression about how kid friendly it is. First off, I love their splash pad. The best part of it is it's free! We tend to go on cooler/cloudy days when the summer sun is not beating down on us. They have benches and tables for families to sit around the splash pad. You can't bring your pets or food to the area. After a lot of running and laughing, my son's eyes do get a little red from the chlorine, so wear glasses or goggles if you want to avoid this. Right next to the splash pad is the playground. I'm so glad that it is covered, so we can go when it's sunny outside, but not too hot. The playground is a good place for the kiddo to either warm up or cool down before the splash pad. I would say the splash pad is such a fun distraction that my son spends the majority of his time at the splash pad and the playground is just a second thought. It's never super crowded even on the weekends. Perfect amount of kids playing around. There's a nice private parking lot right next to the splash pad. I'll be back with the family again and again.

There's a limited amount of parking spaces. I encourage you to carpull, if you can. Water fountains are available for you and your dog. There's also an airpump station. It's really busy in the evening with families. There's a mixture of everything. Walkers, bikers and kids. The paths are pretty wide with uphill and downhill slopes. Depending on the route you take. It can lead you to a shopping and dinning experience. Theres two things I disliked about this area. Number one, there's lots of tiny gnats around that makes it uncomfortable. Number two, There was a horse poo on the side walk. I'm glad I got to venture out and enjoy the scenary. This area is nice for photography. I hope the next time I go the gnats and poo are gone.

I'm being so descriptive because google maps, waze, nor Siri herself was helpful in getting us here. You'd think as many times as I've been to the Whole Foods (at waterside development), I would have noticed it, but alas I did not. LOL! There's a decent sized parking lot here. If you are going to walk/bike/hike out far, you should download the free Trinity Trails app. It will help a lot with navigation and letting you know about the terrains of different parts of the trail. It was an absolutely gorgeous day when we were out. Surprisingly, this part of the trail was not packed. The few folks that were out were very friendly. I love it when "trail folk" acknowledge each other with friendly smiles and chitty chat. Almost everyone we came across had a cute dog on a leash. Folks out here were actually respecting leash laws. Presently, there is no shade along this part of the shade. That wasn't a problem this day because the weather is still cool, but I can definitely see it being an issue when our "beloved" Texas summer is in full swing. It's pretty cool that you can walk along this part of the trail and then head over to waterside for some food (there are some restaurants there besides the grocery store). See you on the trails!

As usual, I didn't come prepared with anything more than one bottle of water. If you come out here, please bring a canteen or Camelbak. Anyway, I was very impressed with the city's investment in the area. The wildflower section was beautiful, and the trails were very well marked. In fact, I traversed the trails for about half an hour before walking back to the vehicle. There is a playground area for the children. I will most definitely come back out here again.

Tandy Hills is one of those hidden treasures in Fort Worth. You can see it from I-30, but you need…read moreto know what you're looking for and where. And you also need to know how to get there, it's not well advertised. And maybe it's a good thing that it's not well advertised. I'm a visitor, so I can't give a lot of info about usage. But it's hidden away, with no parking lot (lots of street parking), and a normal sign. I'd think that it's never too busy. "Natural area" describes land that has few improvements, just several trails and a few benches where there are good views. This is what you get at Tandy Hills. Having moved from the East Bay region of the SF Bay Area several years ago, this parkland reminds me of several regional parks, especially Carquinez Strait and Morgan Territory. Here's a big minus. This hidden treasure has other things that are hidden away: homeless encampments. When you explore off the established trail, and come across a weathered tent with a setup that makes it clear that someone has lived here for a while, that ruins the exploration. Reminds me too much of the rapidly-failing metro area I escaped from. Tandy Hills is a scenic place to get your exercise in and build some cardio going up and down the hills. If you're hosting a visitor who thinks that Texas is only cowboys, oil wells, and tumbleweeds, take them here.

When there's water available it has nice Creek running through it with bridges it's packed with nature and even a butterfly garden area. You'll get a couple miles out of this section out/back,the trail system goes on forever if you want more, this is one of the best legs in my opinion for a brisk walk or jog some elevation and plenty of nature trails if you feel like getting off the pavement it's really good on the eyes facilities are kept up and clean. It's definitely in my top 5 round here.
