We were in need of late night eats after a concert. It was past midnight and we saw Mario's was open until 3am. We arrived around 1am. There was a line, maybe 5 in front of me for pizza. Slices came out quick enough for having so many orders in. They were cranking out orders. Not sure the wait on an entire pie. Bar was mostly full and we found bar seats on the end. My husband had the Buffalo Chicken and Meat Trio. Both very good. He said he doesn't see Buffalo Chicken often so he had to get it. I had the Margarita. It was satisfying and I would have ordered a Meat Trio as well but I was already full. We also had a couple of drinks. Great way to finish the evening or start the new day?! This was a 2AM Pizza so at 2 am this is a great pizza. Skip the bar and walk strait to the back. They have a small window. And all the people work hard and made a great pizza. At like dinner time, it's a 3 star pizza. At 2 am it's a 4 star. There was some spice that over took the pizza and we couldn't pin point it. My go-to here is a pepperoni, green pepper and basil stromboli. Super delicious, affordable, and enough for two if you're not super hungry. If you're famished, this will fill you up in the best way! Something about their pepperoni is a cut above, and their sauce?! Delicioso! Plus, I'm a big basil fan, and they always include plenty of fresh basil that they add after it cooks, so it's still fresh-tasting and not kinda crunchy like you find at many places. On top of that, they don't skimp on the green peppers. Nice strips rather than little pieces. They always sprinkle a good amount of parm all over it, and the dough is divine. In fact, I'm making myself want one as I write this. Can you tell I'm impressed? I had gone downtown with my daughter for an evening and a show and we had planned to go to a nearby restaurant, however it was completely full due to an impending hockey game. We found our way to Marios. We were welcomed in and got the run down. We were directed to the back to order our food. We each ordered a margarita pizza slice and I also got us an order of their garlic knots to share. If you need a reason to come here, the garlic knots should be that reason! We headed back to the bar where we found seating and soon the bartender had us each set up with a blueberry cider. Yum! Our food came out shortly. We enjoyed every bite. Delicious pizza. Seriously though, go for the knots! They had pieces of garlic, herbs and buttery goodness. We took our time and when we finished, checked out with the bartender and headed to our show. The only thing that kept this from a five-star was the draft. It wasn't from outside, it was that the HVAC inside was incredibly drafty and cold. I wanted to love it. But, it ripped the roof of my mouth apart. I guess it was maybe sitting for hours and re heated opposed to freshly made. Definitely wasn't worth the price as we threw it away. If you get a whole pizza I think it would be much better than the slices. I saw folks eating the pizza and it seemed much softer. The ambiance of the bar is very casual and just and ok ambiance. It pains me to be unable to offer more than one star for any local establishment trying to survive in a sea of corporate eateries but I am afraid that is the best I can offer. I was in my way home from a weekday errand downtown when I passed by Mario's Speakeasy Pizza. I was in need of a quick snack and a cocktail and this place caught my eye. I expected art deco accents, chandeliers, warm low-level lighting, exposed brick, antique mirrors, plush velvet upholstery, chesterfield sofas, crystal decanters, etc. but they missed the mark on everything except low-lighting. It was as mostly just plain dark, but I guess they did nail the illegal/dangerous vibe but not really in the way one would hope. My impression is that it was so dark so that people can't see how dirty it is, ie: to obscure potential health code violations. Even though it didn't smell particularly appealing I did not turn around and go to the Irish Pub or German Beerhall across the street instead. I pressed forward, and paused for a moment because the next steps were not clear. Ahead of me to the right was the bar, and further back I saw a sign that indicated I needed to go past the video games to order the pizza from a window. I'm glad I went straight for the food because that saved me some money in the end. I was thinking about a salad, a slice and maybe a craft cocktail however soon realized that salad is not an option. I settled on the "white pizza," It did not occur to me that in terms of New York pizza this means an olive oil base when I would have expected ricotta or Alfredo. I was educated about this fact after I ate 3 bites and asked for my money back. Beyond my expectations, I think there is a right way to have an olive oil base but this was not it. Not sure if there was just way too much of it or if the crust was incompatible with its own recipe, however the cheese was also gross. It seemed to be low-quality, old, or both. I remember the last time I ate school pizza when I was a teacher more fondly than this pizza. For that matter, I think in the future if I want a bad piece of pizza I'd prefer Cici's Pizza or Chuckie Cheese. I was so grossed out that I had to go to Casa de Tequilla and wash that taste out of my mouth with two supersized margaritas. read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting and decided to go in this place since they serve pizza until 2:30 am!! They have an indoor area as well as a rooftop, though there is no service on the rooftop. We decided to check out the rooftop, which was empty besides another group of people. We still decided to hang out up there since it was a nice night. We did not order pizza that night, but another night we ordered their pizza to our hotel room. It was giant (20"), but very very thin (floppy). It was not far from the Denver Convention center and I was able to walk there in a matter of minutes. The pizzeria is located at the back of a bar establishment. I went up to the counter and order a slice of the square cut Grandma's pizza. The server allowed me to pick my slice ! He popped in the oven for a couple minutes and it came out great. Great pizza! Me and my daughter went to the aquarium and after we wanted pizza. There are a LOT of pizza places in this area. But the pics of the pizza looked the best here. We both got the pepperoni, she also got a slice of the classic cheese & my 2nd slice was Buffalo chicken. The peperoni was cooked to perfection. It's really hard to get the crust foldable, crispy & chewy. Delicious! My daughter said he cheese was even better than the peperoni! Came into Denver CO again visiting friends. On Weds. night. Stopped by for a few drinks and slices of pizza. The service was great and the bartender made me a new drink, something different. It was the bomb. The White Pizza was great. It was too late to get my favorite (tiramisu)! The new chairs & clean up was awesome. Love the table lamps. Nice ambience! I will be back soon! This place is terrible - It's like 1.5 stars, but rounding up because 1) they were pretty apologetic, and 2) it is pizza late at night which is much needed. First off, if you are a late night pizza counter, how do you not have the process down to a science where it's like a conveyor belt (a la 2005 NYC Chipotle)? There was a huge line backing up of people waiting to order, and then from time to order to getting 2 plain slices was 32 minutes (and that was with prodding them a few times)? people were so frustrated - like how do you not have cheese and pepperoni slices constantly being made and ready to go? Next, i didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling of cleanliness from the people in the back making everything (also no gloves worn anywhere). The pizza was pretty bad - I mean the crust was okay but I don't know what was going on there (yes, I understand it's the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and not my beloved New Jersey, but still). I'm not trying to be snobby about it. That being said, would I stop there and get a slice or two again? Yes, but only if there was no line and there weren't other options nearby. I'll start with the good: gal taking pizza orders in kitchen could not have nicer, the pizza was reasonably good and they sell by either a slice or whole. We decided to try this speakeasy before a show. We were greeted right away. The environment was chill and open. The bar tender was our server, but he was very attentive. He made sure we knew the portions were very big. We ended up ordering some drinks and a half cheese, half pepperoni sausage pizza. When the pizza came, my husband commented on how big it was. However, the slices are very thin so each slice isn't too filling. Overall, the pizza was good! My husband liked the pepperoni and sausage. My cheese side was good, but I didn't like all the seasonings on it. When we were finished, we were able to just checkout at the bar. As such, the experience overall was good and I would be happy to go back before another show! read more

If I could put 0 stars I would. I've been here countless times and have always enjoyed the atmosphere. Today Denver is celebrating St Pattys and it's packed everywhere, I totally understand waiting for drinks which my group and I did. We waited 30 minutes for 4 shots no big deal! We are all servers and bartenders and are totally empathetic. One of my friends ordered from a guy and told him where in the bar we would be. This girl (in the photo below) was told that we had already ordered but the guy we had asked had left and were still patiently waiting. She snapped at my friend after she told her what he ordered and called her a "cunt" and told her she didn't know how a bar worked and to get out of here. We immediately left none of our 10+ person group wanted to spend any more money than we already had (I'm still pissed I gave this place a single dollar of mine) but like I said I've never had an experience anywhere near how this one went. Our group walked outside and found manager Michael and he told us he would remove her and we weren't the first to complain about this chick and that he would take care of us next time we visit if that ever happens. Shoutout to him for being very understanding and not putting up with this bullshit. It's too bad because this place has been one of my favorites since I moved here 5 years ago hopefully they can fix this problem and terminate this persons employment they have no place being customer facing. We were greeted upon walking up to the window to place our order. The gentleman taking it order was from Philly so that was nice to be in Colorado and meet a native Philadelphian.
